Imagine a factory team building a race bike. If pro circuit builds the ugliest exhaust ever but performs 5% better than stock;  they’re running it.  Ungodly amounts of money/time/effort being spent on bikes for the slightest performance gains.  If ______* allows a rider to have  2% less fatigue at the 25 minute mark, than they’re taking it.   They didn’t hire Aldon for good looks or stellar reputation

Nothing against you at all, just adding something. Ricky had talent, a crazy desire and if I recall correctly was working with Johnny O before Aldon. Aldon "just" used what he knew from his background, army and cycling, then compounded the knowledge and reputation with Ricky. Then JS7, RV, RD, just like most businesses, be the first one and open the market and it works. Army background too. Do we really get what is army ? Add a a top notch faciltity in the middle of nowhere to avoid drama and fast team mates...

To think that Aldon has a magic recipie is funky, honestly, because it doesn't work in this case with all the ktm/husky/gas gas 250s every week ends. What he brings for sure is a frame that is needed for athletes, including young ones, and that is very simple, work harder (and smarter) than anyone = confidence = results. What the baker factory misses is someone like DV that can dissect the technique, track and set up. And I am not saying DV just because I am french, I just think that hiring great former champ's like Canard can sometimes transform the program, the Honda looks Incredible, and it can be is a big asset, saves a ton of time/money, and really helps to make the results. I don't believe in magic at all especially when OEMs pull big checks with the primary aim to avoid anythig that could damage their reputation too.

Something to note, the podium of both classes were drug tested at RedBud (I was present when they were pulling riders). This included Haiden Deegan and all riders passed.

If there are standards to objectively test Deegan (and anyone else) then those should be applied.

I don't agree with the "he did too well, can't be right, let's test him". When Tomac put over a minute on Dungey at Hangtown nobody was screaming "doper".

Not sure about the kid or what notice they get about "testing"............i have many years of cycling/racing so yeh maybe a bit jaded. I think the kid is likely legit but Dad on the otherhand (not a fkn chance he's on bread and water)

Seriously, they have same day test results now? They only took 3 months to tell Stew he was positive for adderall.Blink

edit…..nevermind, you said RedBud, I was thinking Washougal 🤦🏻‍♂️

That is interesting, I was under the impression that when they dropped WADA/USADA the testing stopped. Thank you for the information.

For those of you who don't know, LeBigUSA.com is a french speaking paying website run by moto reporter Stephan Legrand, a frenchman who lives in Vegas. Each week, Yannig Kervella, french ex-racer and trainer with a reputation of "telling it like it is", former coach to Shimoda, has a one hour last race debriefing podcast, talking with Legrand.

I was kinda shocked at what I heard today, since he starts with a looooong rant "asking questions" about Haiden Deegan. Here are a few highlights I translated.

“How can a 17 year old have his 13th race lap in the 2nd moto faster than his best morning lap and 3 seconds faster than anyone. Nobody understands how he can do that. How is it possible?”

“I hope he’s not taking “orange juice”.”

“The Deegan family has always been cheating, cutting tracks, oversize bikes. When you have a cheating spirit where does it end?”

“I’m a trainer, there’s no magic.”

“Cyclists who are “charged” don’t feel tired.”

“I’m not accusing, I’m asking some questions.”

“It’s very surprising.”

Also calling Deegan names like punk, asshole…

20 minutes of phony gutter innuendo. Just can't believe my ears. Compared to these two, Cooksey and Hopper deserve a Pulitzer.

Does anyone realize how “easy” riding is when you’re riding within your comfort zone? If you aren’t fighting the track or the bike i can click off lap after lap at my comfort zone. That doesn’t seem to change just because of your speed it’s all relative.

doing 35 minutes for these guys isn’t that hard. Doing it above their capabilities is hard but if they’re riding in their zone it’s cake...

It doesn't matter if you witnessed it or even videoed it and posted to YouTube. Some of these clowns in here will just make up shit that tries to debunk reality. Haiden could give a kidney for examination and these fools would still find a way to say it is not true when he came up clean.

anyone know what cycle he would be running to come in 10th one weekend and first the next? asking for a friend who also wants drastically different race results, with a chance of getting caught and kicked out of the biggest accomplishment of his life.

This was at Washougal, if he’s not on something, I want to know his secret or just good genetics?

God I hope this is trolling. If you think PEDs are required to attain that build I'm guessing you don't know much about training. You wanna get ripped? Don't eat like a pig

Yup, between this stupid shit and the other thread where intellectual lightweights are calling “The Deegans” racist…etc. …

I’ve never seen so many people of such a negative and hateful vibe that really need to GFThemselves and go back to their dark little hole.

But, I digress.

The article is behind a paywall. Unless we can access it and judge for ourselves, we are judging this according to YOUR translation and potential bias.

You are accusing LeBig as well when you say "these two" ??

Kervella is known for some brash, chauvinist talk at times. But I am very surprised about S. Legrand, aka " Lebig"

Can someone please make the said discussion accessible to all before we get our pitchforks  ? Thanks

PED does not equal skill. Unfit guys can win a race. But unskilled guys cannot win a race.

That’s the difference. Motocross is such a mental game at these levels and you need supreme talent to be competitive and to win.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility of setting a fast lap at the end of a race. Track lines change. Track conditions change.

And the kid is a total gamer too. He could qualify tenth, and when that gate drops he can find another gear. Lots of guys are like that.

I was skeptical of the kid, but he’s absolutely on fire. And for sure has to be the current USA choice for MXDN at this point.

Nobody called the Deegans racist, if you’re referring to my post in the other thread.

If I was a top pro with millions on the line and the series isn't really drug testing I'd use ped's if I thought it would be the difference maker. No judgment here

Mreh, he had two subpar rides the weeks before, I put it more down to him being a Cali kid and finding traction where others did not.

Expect back to the mean the next three rounds I think.

What about when you take skill AND add PED's? I'm not accusing anyone and it's not even anything I give a second thought to. All sports do it and I don't really care. It's naive to think motocross is above it

The point many people seem to miss with PEDS, is that for many of them its not the difference they make to a specific event performance directly.....but their impact on training and preparation

So when people argue that PED's aren't going to help line selection, technique in ruts, ability to go full send over XYZ feature; they're missing the point.

Those skills and abilities take huge amounts of repetitive practice and preparation. Many PED's enhance recovery and endurance capacity. Which in Moto... would allow for more quality time on the bike during the week. Week in, week out. Thus increasing performance and endurance, by allowing athlete to tolerate more training.

Which is why in many other sports, athletes who get busted are often caught by out of competition testing, when they are actually using them. Not at the events themselves

This really isnt a big deal but it is against the rules  your only allowed one person to accompany you to the starting gate .. Its funny how Deegan has two ...Brian and his mechanic equals two ...
