Ditch all of the logos and fonts, hell maybe even change the name. Hire a competent designer to start from scratch and bring the quality of the designs in line with the quality of the gear.

I don't understand the changing font thing with Fly. The 2024 line looks like it has the Fly name in 7 different font types on their riding gear. Saying that, I would say it is their best looking stuff to date.

Yah, it is kinda strange to have so many variations of the font used. And I agree that its the best they have had in awhile.

The fabrics are way higher quality than almost all other brands, in over 40 years of dirt bikes I have never used gear that lasts like this. The knees have lasted 2 years and only changing to the new stuff because mine is an old color. Changed from Fly and Seven which last about 3 months because the knees and butt wear through.

The fit seems really comfortable, could be you are an odd shape.

Alpinestars is Italian, that seems quite popular for a Euro brand.

Isn't almost all gear basically Taiwanese anyway?

Whether it's Tech 10's or SG-12's, a BMW M3 or an H&K 416, a lot of Euro designed stuff seems to do well enough over there...

Granted UFO have some wacky designs and I'm not rushing out to buy something with 'Kenny' plastered across it, but I won't slag it off based on where it's designed.

Any brand using real leather in cloves anymore? Seems most cheaper brands are using synthetic leather that doesnt have same grip and give blisters in hot humid weather.

The Kenny name came from when they started the business, they were making leathers for US road racing legend Kenny Roberts. This is why the logo is the same as what he had on his leathers.

Fabrics felt no different than any middle tier line made by other gear brands. I understand you’re the us importer of Kenny but saying it’s quality is above and beyond everything is just false.

So the seat and inside leg is 1000D Cordura, where most brands use 600D Polyester, even though the Cordura is just as flexible and 300% more durable. The knee inserts are stretch Kevlar like a bullet proof vest because its tough and heat resistant.
So the fabrics are higher quality than a lot of other brands, its a fact. Did you ever try some?

They are used by a lot of Dakar, Hard Enduro & Enduro GP teams because they need good quality gear.

I dont want to get into an argument about what is the best gear because everyone has their own preference, but saying its some of the worst quality gear just isnt true.

Yeah I had that until we got used to it too. Then you think about lots of gear.
Who would wear gear after the name Troy, Thor or O'Neal it just becomes the name of a brand after a while.

I have tried Kenny gear, uncomfortable and not vented very well. Just feels like cheap gear. You don’t even sell the gear the Dakar guys run so that’s irrelevant. Instead of pushing how great the quality is in the forums every time someone talks about gear just buy an ad.

aside from Oneal, all of the others have changes to the name

It's not Troy, its Troy Lee Designs (albeit, not much better)
It's not Torsten, it's Thor

Imagine buying Geoff gear instead of fox lol

As I said everybody has their own preference on gear, some just isnt cut for certain size people, some brands just dont sit right on me, but others find them perfect.
There are different ranges that have different venting, depends where you ride most as to what you want. Lots of riders wear it and think its the best quality they have used, you dont, not everyone is the same.
You can buy the same gear that Dakar guys use, its the Titanium range usually.

I wasnt really pushing how great the quality is, its a post about when 2024 ranges are out, which I posted a reply. You then got lit about it being the worst quality and poor fit, like all Euro gear. I am not sure why it bothers you so much.

Maybe everybody would love a set of Geoff gear by now. Hard to imagine I know.

What about Scott?

I agree that all brand names start out as nothing until they make their mark and build their brand, but the "Kenny" name already has very strong associations, and they're not exactly cool.

Yes, Troy Lee used his name, but it's a unique and cool sounding name. It's literally the combination of the location of a famous Greek war and the the most famous martial artist of all time. Not a cartoon character or an American redneck.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Kenny motocross brand is ever going to surpass the brand power of these 3...

I imagine high-end gear is- I know Oneal Hardware is made there (at least the jersey) and peak Thor-era Core line gear was taiwanese.. Most of it is vietnam or China now (not necessarily a bad thing) and made with far less expensive and durable materials than hey once were. Most gear companies have increased retail costs, increased the frequency with which you need to buy gear after the pants blow out, all while decreasing the cost to produce it.

UFO has thier top line of gear made in Italy, I would be curious to try it someday to see if it is like mid-2000s Fox 360 or Thor Core line quality.

Man I wish the last real pair of gloves I had that I liked was the Thor core from like 06. They were comfortable had real protection and a real palm area. Not these cheap  bs they offer now that is toast so fast.

Man good call, the classic RC era Fox 360 stuff really was good wasn't it, back when you really did get whet you paid for.

Right or wrong, I've been fairly impressed with Thor's mid and higher end stuff recently but it's still a lot different than classic 360, I totally agree that stuff was all-time.

interesting info too, thanks 👍

Agreed.  Some of their gear looks good and even if I love it I'm not buying it.  If they dropped the K and was "ENNY" I would buy it...On Enny Sunday.

Pretty sure this was my exact comment last year, i dont need 7 variations of the logo and letter type.

2024 Fly gear looks better than the stuff they have had the last couple of years. But i still feel like they need a complete re-brand with new people involved in the design department. Also the 4-5 different logo fonts do my head in, it's a horrible idea to do that.

I was gonna say the same thing about the name. Gear looks pretty good, but I couldn't run Kenny gear I dont think.

that said ktm47 is doing more harm for the brand then good.
