suck it up and learn to play the game..
its not like hold the X botton down the whole time like it used to be.
let off in the corner, find a rhythm, and you'll find its more realistic and fun in a challenging way.
believe me, im horrible right now but it keeps me workin at it.

kev, maybe its your knee Wink

No dude, I was just in a real uncomfortable position while racing Durst and started getting nautious and then sweating; its happened before but only when Im not looking squarely at the tv when playing.

My knee is definitely natious-worthy material though! Smile

I wish we could race Watty, I hope your PS3 takes a shit!! You too Steve! Har.

Oh man!
Yeah, I hate Microsoft but all my friends(that didnt move away Smile ) were running the 360 so I had to go that route.

I beat Durst last night a couple times and that dude is already 50% through his career!

is it just me..... when riding the ATV, you come up to a hairpin right, and you turn the bars to the right, and throw your weight to the right, just like in real life.... but on the bike, you come up to a right hander, you turn the bars to the right, and you also have to throw your body weight to the right , just the opposite of real life? any which way, the ATV physics just feel much more realistic.....

seems you have not read the other "demo" thread that must be up to 20 pages by now, the game is more complex than you might expect, spend some time in the free roaming section (while the game loads) and you will learn quite a bit, give it time, trust me, and you will love it, atleast if your looking for a real challenge that keeps you on your toes and on your game then this is the cats meow. And i've only played the demo

Complaining about this game is like talking shit on a pretty sunset, or a painting masterpiece.

I guess everyone has the right to bitch about something though.

Glad this topic came up. This is the first time I haven't bought a mx related game on the first day it came out in a long time. 60+ for a video game is alot of cash. Sounds like this falls short of what it could of been. Funny though the stick and ball video games seem to keep getting it right. Hell, even the NASCAR series of games delivers. I have a buddy who has it, so maybe this weekend I'll get over to his house and check it out before I drop the cash on it. Someone tell me there are no birds chriping during the game, like in the trailers for the game...

I've played almost every single motocross game ever made for any platform and I have to say that this game is amazing. The track breakdown is great and the majority of the tracks are great for online racing. I do have to admit that the barely hit a person and you go down can get quite annoying, but the pros greatly out weigh the cons. Thanks THQ for your hard work.

Holy hell this game is such an unrealistic pile of crap. Today, I was racing SX, and I got passed by Mike Alessi in the whoops. Unbefuckingleivable...

Seriously, I love this game and I've been doing 6-7 lap motos on all my favorite tracks on all time, and the ruts develop so well. It's pretty amazing. I have killed way too much time on this game already.

I was looking at my lifetime timer on MVA unleashed and it said I was at 24 days of playtime. Thinkin I may be able to beat that on Reflex

Thanks RBW!

The thing I learned is you have to use the brakes and let off the gas, square the corners. The ruts and berms change as the race goes on and learn to use them. The good line changes also, If you pick your lines and ride smart its is a great game. I hated it at first because I could not use the body joy stick but if you pick your lines and use the brakes then you wont need to use it very much or at all. If I had to rate the game the first hour I would have given it a 2 now that I have played it and see how real the game play is I would give it a 10. $60 is cheap for what you get.

Could the bike/body control be better? Yes
Could the AI be a little less "Novice"?......Yes
Is it a good game that lends itself to actually learning how to control the bike/body, instead of just pinning it everywhere and never touching the brakes?........Yes

Lets face it. What "We" want out of an MX game, and what "They (normal public)" want out of a game are 2 different animals.

In my opinion, THQ/Rainbow/Whoever would be losing money on the game buy trying to develop it for our small demographic, they have to design it for the kid next door.

I love the game. Sure, the controls are hard to get used to, but it will keep the playing factor high since its so hard to figure out how to go fast and do it right.

Its the best we have, deal with it.

Just my opinion though.

Trip, again your glass half empty viewpoint over rules reality.
If you read any reviews or even the majority of the Reflex threads here on Vital you would quickly see that there is an OVERWHELMING majority of positive feedback and very little detractors. I would put the split at about 94% positive and 6% negative.

This game is incredible. A HUGE step up from Untamed.

I love the game, the other sand track in the game is the coolest track ever created. i've always begged developers for bumps, whoops and ruts. It delivers! I was to tired to race last night when i got home but tonight we are brewing a big ole pot of coffee and throwing down!
Anyone want to do a Vital race? I'm still a few seconds off the fastest guys, so this isn't a threat. Anyone who wants to race, put your Xbox tag here i'll add you and send you a invite at 9:00 central. We will run 2 10 lap motos and it will be scored like real MX, with the results posted on Vital. If I'm the only one who shows, no problem I'll go 1-1 Smile How many can race online at once? That's the number of folks that can race this race.

I guess I'm trying to figure out the logic.
I purchased an 97 or 98 CR125 one of the first years with the aluminum frame.
Picked it up on a Thursday, rode it Sat and Sun. Took it back to the dealer on Tues.
Obviously they didn't give my money back but they traded it for a YZ125.
The YZ was one of the best bikes I ever owned by the way.
I did feel that Honda owed me money on that one. I paid MSRP for the worst bike I have ever riden.

Scrubbing seems to be the way to "next-level" speed. I'm constantly in the top-3 of the races I do, but there seems to be some "goats" emerging already, eclipsing my lap times by 5 seconds some times. My corner speed is good and I'm fairly smooth, but these guys are haulin'. I'm not awful at scrubbing, but it is an adventure to say the least.

BTW zookrider62 were you online last night (9:00 your time) on PS3? I could have sworn there was a guy in the group I was racing in with that tag. That is, until we got stuck in the compound for 20 minutes. (I'm Atomic_Dawg) I think I raced against mxdude660 a couple of days ago as well.

I have read reviews and not just from the kiss ass guys on here. All I'm doing is asking some questions about a video game. Take your agenda about me out of it. If I was buying a new Yamaha, after all the years of them having steering issues, I would ask questions. Is that being negative??
Maybe go read some reviews from other boards, cause that's what I have done.

Your math is just a little off, go back and add up the guys who like it in this thread and the guys who dont, and show me how that is 96%

ING gave it a 7.8

G4 gave it a 3 out of 5

Saw another one that gave it 7

Those are not the best reviews.

Yup! and that 6% negative are people with no gaming skills, kinda like the ones who prefer need for speed over gran turismo.

Trip, you should really just buy the damn thing, just be glad it's only $60, I paid $80 for mine but then again thats my fault because I'm a canadian........

I was little hesitant to buy at first, but know I'm glad I did.

I got the multplayer working on the internet and is pretty fun competing with others. There is some minor things, but overall very happy.

The only problem is getting my 5 and 8 year old daughters off of it so I can play. We can only hope they can provide more tracks later. I'm still waiting to race my home national track.

I think some of the other vehicles are for the kids. Was a way for them to incorporate a larger audience and customer base.

The Online aspect has holes in it. Other games have figured this out, Somehow the folks behind this online play haven't seen a video game since 2005. That said it has been very fun racing with friends the past few nights.

I havent played the online ish yet, but ive found the free ride to be almost if not more fun than the racing. If the game was anymore realistic i have a feeling people would really start bitchin. it is what it is shit.
