Should be pretty obvious my dude. That Star bike is a better bike by a wide margin than the Factory Yamaha bike Webb was riding, and the team is better to work for
Because he's not going back to Yamaha, he's going back to Star.
Sexton's best bet at winning the SMX Super duper Championship is on a proven HRC Honda, he would be crazy to jump ship before his contract is up.
Pure speculation but, my spidey senses say that Webb came back to the nationals thinking he could earn a spot on the desNations team. When he started getting beat by privateers, DeCoster probably shot that dream down.
I've been a big Webb fan but, his effort outdoors has been a disappointment. Anyway, there's no excuse now....
I'm sure he knew he was not coming back with Sexton and AP signed next year. Maybe he asked to be released early and KTM said no problem. I guess that would just make it simple but I'm not genius.

Bust is harsh. He’s been at or maybe slightly below where he was expected. I dont think most people had him at as a championship guy. Top 3 would be exceptional in a championship l. Top 5-7 would be about par.
Unless I’m forgetting someone, this has not happened since Stewart with Yamaha in 2012.

Racers, race, so I've heard. So if a guy is not racing, that would make him not a racer? Jett, Chase, Eli (?) have him covered anyways. Seems Cooper's glory days have passed and he will be fighting for top 5s regardless of the bike he is riding. Though I miss the way he raced when he was on it.
Webb's glory days are most definitely not behind him. He won this year and held the red plate, and going to a new team and new bike could be what he needs to recapture the magic

Agreed. He had that swagger back even before SX started with the "I'm washed up" comment. He gave Tomac hell all year...including Daytona.
Still crushed both Webb and Tomac went out the way they did.

These top level dudes are sooo damn fast, so close and so determined aren't they, it's nuts people are just like "nahhh... he's done".
Being happy with the bike, being happy with the team, just 'feeling it' or just digging the track that week, that's all it takes for a guy who was 5th last week to jump up to the top step next week isn't it.
And people just wanna down play these guys.
Call me nuts, I just don't think that he will be better moving back to Star Yamaha and that his time for Championships has come and gone imo .
