I'm still trying to sell mine!
Put Roczen's graphics on it.
Put eStart on it
Not a huge number, but that's still $1.4mil INCREASE in sales... For changing nothing but a rider.
It would be very interesting to see what they forecasted sales to be with the addition of the magic button and a diet.

24 models are out.
For just 1 quarter...
Tyler financed all 174 units for 3 years at 0% interest. He couldn't pass up the deal. He'll figure out what to do after the 3 years is up.
Thats a lot of bikes to put Kerry Harris Satellite graphics on.
Concur... I suspect that exceeds the pace for annual sales, but still interesting.
So doing some maths Suzuki sold roughly 240 combined 250s and 450s in quarter one of 2022. They really were skirting the homologation line.
Where can we find those figures?
On a local level, I actually haven't seen one in awhile. During supercross there was word from a few shops of people coming in and buying them, as well as getting calls asking about stock.
I know, rather meaningless information in the grand scheme, but certainly noticeable to me. I took this pic 3 years ago when they couldn't give them away...
They just need 400 to be available to be sold. Doesn't matter if they sell 1 or 1000 as long as 400 were available.
I brought 2 Suzukis to the track last week, I greatly inflated local numbers being seen in public
400 of the 450s and 400 of the 250s, right?
Yeah.
I googled Suzuki's sales numbers and saw that there operating margin was somewhere around 8.8%. Even if they did receive $1.4M in increased wholesale sales (likely a lot less as they probably have to rebate heavily to move the units) that would add less than $125K to their profit margins. I think that they probably sunk quite a bit more than that into Roczen's SX season.
Could still be a good investment if they follow up with some improvements and gain some momentum, though!
But if you are talking profit margin, Roczen's expense is already in there.
Pit Row
Keep in mind that the Roczen effect has likely increased sales and interest around the world, not just in the US. But as you say, Suzuki needs to take advantage of that momentum, and unfortunately that’s where the doubt lies.
And with WSX the sales around the world will increase even more.
is Kenny signed for 2024 with Suzuki?
that would continue to help sales.
I haven’t heard anything re; Roczen and HEP/ Suzuki. I for one hope he stays there.
How much truth is there in hep moving away from Suzuki , I can’t see Kenny leaving the team but I wouldn’t be surprised by a brand switch , also ferrandis joining him ?
It's not about selling just MX bikes. It is about brand awareness. Kenny helps Suzuki sell outboard motors and cars too.
70% is 70%
They have been skirting those numbers for several years now.
Pretty simple , put a button on it and that would be just as good investment or if not better ,than paying KR to endorse their brand
Hope he resigns with Suzuki too.
he looks good on that bike.
Yup, ATV's too. probable even Suzuki hats and clothing etc. I remember reading about how much $$ of each RMZ sold it would take to pay RC's salary back then. And back then they were selling much better than now. And it was a big chunk of each bike. Maybe somebody could find the article and compare to what it cost them for Kenny.
The good folks running HEP have told me "We bleed yellow", so I would have to assume that unless Suzuki completely backs out or another mfg sticks a big enough bag of cash on their table that HEP will continue as the Suzuki team.
Love me some Simi Cycles...
Edit: My second real job in life was next door at Green Acres.
