After listening to pulp it makes me think that's kind of true. Daniel wouldn't talk about it and the look on his face when it was brought up.

I guess I can see where you guys are coming from on this one, but I still lean towards ball busting.
It DOES seem to add a little credence to that theory with how Daniel reacted on Pulp. I guess if there was NOTHING behind it, he wouldn't have just refused to talk about it, he probably would have just simply said it's nonsense?
I'm not saying he didn't leave because RC being there blocks him from the booth, I just don't THINK it's RC actually making that call. Do you guys expect RC to just bow out because Daniel is better?
By the way I am far from an RC nut hugger. I grew up racing Daniel and know he's still just a quality human being, so I'd MUCH rather see and hear him on the broadcast.
RC just can't stand not being considered the best. probably grew up with Jeannie yelling at him that so-and-so was a better rider than he was. turned him into a narcissist, sadly.
so, a little of that, and a little heavy-handed quasi-autistic social awkwardness.
That just RC busting a good friends balls and nothing more....that's tame compared to how Reed is with JT when it comes to busting balls...you all are too sensitive....and by the way that had absolutely zero to do with DB's decision...
Calling him the fan's favorite toy is the tell. Let's you know that Ricky pays attention to that and it got under his skin. It comes across as very condescending. DB could have easily said "its total bullshit, moving on" but that's not what he said. Lot of smoke for there to be no fire.
It was ball busting gone about 10% too far, venturing into Dickistan. RC looked like maybe he had had about 2-3 Bud lights post race which triggered his mostly dormant short man disease.
I like Blair, he mentioned something about maybe being on the show again in August, I'm looking forward to it.

That video is very interesting. RC seems pissed to me for reals.
Seems like DB didn't really see a good future in broadcasting with NBC. He's good at the job but probably the wrong gender to be a part of the pit-reporter pipeline we've seen success in before. He just doesn't have the announcing resume all the other play by play guys have and I guess thats mostly what they look at. He also probably doesn't want to try to take over all the stuff that Weege does to stay in the moto world.
Good luck to him, he seems like he would be an excellent coach for young racers.

Because anything Deegan/Cooksey related don knows all. Deegan is always innocent and people hate on a kid. Cooksey is always a liar and a pos. Or in Don's words Kooksey. 99% of his posts are all trashing cooksey or defending Deegan.

It’s less about being “too sensitive” and more about how we’ve all had real-world experience busting balls with friends, and that’s just not how it’s done. He came across like a dick. Another tell being that Daniel was flustered and didn’t even know what to say to the camera after RC ripped on him in front of all the people he was leading around.
Daniel is a good guy. Only have to look at what RC would say to him in the booth. Not once or twice. Every time they both broadcast. If you were the greatest of all time. What’s the point. Not all hero’s are humble. DB would be great in the booth long term. Especially with James or Weege.

I totally understand his side and why he wouldn't want to talk about it. I was lucky enough to be DB's guest for his last broadcast. He was a perfect host and gave me plenty of time, probably more than I deserved. I kind of tried to not impose too much on him on race day because he seemed to have his game face on but I'm sure he was thinking about a lot of stuff that day. Friday night he was as loose as can be at dinner and shared a ton of behind-the-scenes stuff and who is going where and team news and none of it has left my lips.
That was some good old fashioned ball busting that quickly turned personal when RC told DB that he has the VIP’s watch old videos of him doing supercross and tells them to do the opposite. That’s the exact moment he crossed the line lol
I thought the line was crossed when he called DB the "fans favorite Toy" Keep in mind, this is all at the same time DB was trying to film his breakdown. Rc should have never interrupted in the first place.
I think it's pretty well known that RC was a world class dick when he was racing and the past few years, he seems to be on an apology tour. I totally understand being a redass when you are trying to be the best ever, you basically have to be an assassin. The difference between him and a guy like Jordan is he has let that go while Jordan is still holding grudges. As far as the current shit talking it's pretty obvious that he is a world class ball buster, the kind of guy who will insult you and then go out of his way to help you. I bust my buddy's balls as well, but I don't have the pelts on the wall that RC does.

I remember watching that vid and it thinking nothing of it cause Ricky can come off as kind of a cornball when joking around. We’ve see how he is when he views people as competition before though. IE: Ron Ron at hang town, ect… I remember Roncada saying he flipped out when he didn’t win a moto. I feel bad for him trying to fit into the broadcast gig. He just needs to be himself. Like pre 2001 Ricky. His personality is more like Omara but he tries to act like he’s Donald Trump or something.
I guess no one else has noticed over the years that RC is absolutely terrible at shit talking? He takes it too far. He's also super defensive when people shit talk him.
None of this is surprising to me.
Edit: For clarity... I also think it has nothing to do with Blair's decision.
I'd like to think that Daniel would have cut that segment of the breakdown out if it was serious.
