I wasn't watching too closely today, so I'm not sure I would disagree. However, if I were racing Hunter and in front of him, there's no way I'd "let him past," for any reason. I don't care if he's way faster; if he cannot get around, he's not going to beat me. Period. It is the rider in front's prerogative to go wherever on the track he wants, and however fast he wants. That means crossing the track, brake checking and even cross jumping, if it's the line he's taking.

Now, looking back, making dangerous moves, and jumping across someone else's line when that person already has the advantage is bullshit.

short of a big humbling event (injury that takes him out for a year, etc), this is who deegan is. it won't change. he'll make barcia look like the dunge and stands a decent chance of pissing away alot of goodwill and alot of career potential. but hey, every sport needs a villain, so game on. affluenza is a bitch.

He did similar things in supercross being very aggressive, and it panned out for him. He has shown he isn’t “afraid” to go after Hunter but he isn’t ready for him yet.

He wasn’t cross jumping him. There was plenty of space. Calm down Karens. Maybe a little over the line, but he wasn’t trying to take him out mid air obviously. If you want to see cross jumping, go look at what Jett did to Forkner. Put him out for the season.

Hunter just knew he was faster and chose his spot to pass. Not sure what the hell Deegan thought he was gonna do by trying to block him all the way around an outdoor track with multiple different lines. Just rookie shit I guess.

I guess you nerds never saw Emig race back in the day. He rode a “wide bike” and did the same shit. Yeah maybe Deegan was a bit over the line, but he wasn’t trying to kill Lawrence mid air like some of you are saying lol

What a bunch of whiners.  Apparently everyone forgot that Justin Cooper was leading and Deegan clearly knew he wasn't gonna challenge for the win in the moto.  He did what a good teammate would do, held up the top competition for as long as he could, and it worked for Cooper and his team.

Haha and we all know how much of a team player Deegan is..

Not only held the competition up but held himself up enough that another top competitor got him for third

Good job

No one should be surprised, he consistently rode like that in SX.

Same for the Lawrence boys. It happens in racing, right?

he can ride like that all he wants but i was genuinely embarrassed for him. that was some shit a c rider does when you roll up on them during a practice session. just cringe as hell. just race forward.

He gets respect for all the work he has put in then throws it all away. The argument that used to be he got everything handed to him was countered by he worked hard , now get shown in the true light of his attitude and behavior shows as a spoilt brat.  Granted he did put in the work and he has talent , just needs to learn the paradox of humility.

Well he brake checked himself back to 9th place , while Hunter raced forwards to number 1.

Your use of the word paradox is a paradox with in itself, due to the fact that your entire post is a paradox.

Hunter got to the inside first.  Deegan backed off and ended up losing time.  I don't see the problem.  Did something else happen?

I rewatched moto 1.  I disagree with JS7.  I don't see cross jumping.  Haiden was far enough ahead that there was no danger.

But, he was going out of his way, and weaving a bit to keep Hunter from passing.  Not cool, but also not trying to take him out like Friese, Barcia, etc...  That's not a good comparison.

I’m not crazy about Deegan but at least he’s trying to keep Lawrence behind him.

Yeah I wouldn't really say it was dangerous, The whip in his face up the hill was silly.. Maybe wouldn't totally be considered a cross jump and sure he might've known how close Hunter was but I'd almost guarantee he didn't know exactly where he was.. Just all really silly dumb racing and I'm sure infuriating but at least Hunter wasn't picking his bike up off the ground..

All that said if it continues I'm sure Hunter will wanna "learn him his lesson" haha

I’d bet a paycheck that the people posting in this thread are more butthurt about Deegan than Hunter is, and he’s the one who stood to lose something today…

Seriously wasn’t that bad. He’s still a kid learning race craft. At least he does put up a fight, and gives it everything. He obviously didn’t have the last 2-5% speed of the others today, but didn’t want to lose spots. He wants a chance at the title.

I would rather this, and the fight he has in him over a glimpse of speed, and the expected fade after 15min dropping anchor like usual. It’s cool to see the kid come in and now we expect him up front.

He’s been able to bully kids around on a mini bike, coming up against Hunter, Cooper he is learning the ropes. In a very public way. I’m sure we can all agree he’s damn exciting, but the clown moves won’t work if he wants to win.

Why would anyone want to see the best rider in the series taken out ??? If it weren’t for the fact Hunter would have been thinking championship the brat would have been put through the nearest fence , probably would of humbled him a bit and done him good he’s not at lorettas now , hopefully he learns from this he’s got a lot of potential
