23 kawy 450sr or 23 yzf. 450?

Both look to be badazz bikes, any opinion on each, pro s kawy sick bike has pretty much everything, cons gonna be a older style now since 2024 new. Yzf. New designs for a few years looks solid, parts are starting to come in for them. Price difference i found a few prices. Looks like the SR about 1200 more. Any opinions.  Thanks.   Looks like a win win either bike.  Imo.

Kawasaki just announced $1000 off the 2023 SR. Does not look that there will be an SR for 24.

Tough call.   Probably the newer 23 YZF450.   Close call though….

Both bikes are really sick! I’d get the yami n build it up myself. Nothing against the Kawi, I just like building my bikes up!

The YZF is lighter, at least on the spec sheet:

YZF 240 lbs wet; KXSR: 243 lbs wet

Blue bikes seem to usually have a bit more QC checks before they roll off the floor. Less random issues and assembly weld problems etc

Really either bike is a great choice, IMO if you plan on keeping it for a longer period than the normal season to season bike I always pick blue, they hold up, they age well, they wear well. 

Generally I find them very trustworthy. 

With all that bs said, I would go blue!

Both are very good bikes. Only advantage I can think of is the SR comes standard with things you will probably end up adding to the YZ

I would pick the kx450sr all day over the yamaha even though its an outgoing design it's still one of the best most comfortable bikes around. The yz450 looks like it's good but that kx450sr is dialed

Kawi is definitely not faster. Easier to ride? Absolutely! The Yamaha is fast!

Bruh this is the sr. Ported head, full exhaust, different Ecu. It’s faster lol. It makes more hp than all the other works edition 450s let alone the standard 450s.

They are probably right in the same range. MXA says the SR was just over 3 hp better than standard edition, and the '23 Yam is up about 2.6 over standard KX450. Both are credited with having a very linear delivery.

I generally like buying near the end of a model run.  By that time everything is available, setup info is widely known and they usually have all the bugs ironed out, or at least everyone knows what's needed.  So I'd go for the SR.
