The smogg was erie all day and driving home tonight. I walked out of my uncle's garage and it looked like he just choked down the wood stove in the winter on a calm day where the smoke just lays in the trees.

Definitely not kind to the throat or stomach. I could not image how bad it is for people with respiratory issues.

Worked outside on a job all morning yesterday here in PA. By the afternoon my eyes were burning and my throat was hurting. I thought I was crazy and being a sissy but after talking to others in the area I wasn’t alone. Ended up canceling training for my son at Dutchmen MX last night because of it. Pretty crazy.

Will this affect High Point? I feel bad for the crew that comes in early to set up the track!

Central AB Canada, a couple weeks ago. Those trees are slightly less than 1/2 mile. It was really bad for a couple weeks. Smoke doesn’t bother me usually, but it was starting to affect my eyes for sure. I couldn’t imagine racing in the heat trying to breathe the stuff in.

Someone commented, “does Canada have a fire dept.” c’mon man, we did but the firehouse igloo melted and it’s been chaos ever since.

Anything over 150 is a rough day if you have to work outside in it. Here’s what the NW was dealing with in mid October last year.

Be careful there’s some people that r a little sleepy from driving in it. Some truckers will run the NE for 2-3 weeks burn out then leave. Only place that pays. They usually run a lot more than 14 hrs do to the fact there’s no where to park.  New Windsor Ny. A wase above nyc was really smoky. I run 84 to Scranton i81 I made it to Green castle my secret parking spot at midnight it’s a piece of gravel by a rr entrance.there’s a pond ducks r usually flying in& out none there this morning. I didn’t notice any birds in the 3 areas of Ny. Not far from red Bud a massive amount of birds where cherping away last week. The weather was nice.     In atl for 3 hrs or so now. No smoke here. But back to Ma. I hope it’s better.

Reminds me of the big fires during Covid when  Canada refused to allow the US air tanker support to help them fight the big fires due to “health concerns”

When they Trust the Science a little too hard

Also, profeshanal *Affect is the best spelling in this context.

The air is so bad I decided we should release some I've had in storage for a bit back into the wild. IMG 20230608 175819

Back on road this morning with an hour and a half to the dilla!

The Weather Channel is calling for more smoke to move into the region before this weekend. Their map had Mount Morris in the red come Saturday. I really really hope that is incorrect.

I hope not the times we've had to deal with it here it sucks. The minimal exposure I've had with it I couldn't imagine trying to race in it. You feel like you can't take a deep breathe just standing in it. The one time we did ride in it when it was minimal I only did two practice sessions and felt like crap the rest of the day.
