So on one of the recent VitalMX post race shows, ML said he heard the rumors surrounding the 3 year deal for KR to race WSX, paying something along the lines of $1.5M for year one, $2.0M for year two and $2.5M for year 3.
I know in the RC/Stew/Reed days there were some big money contracts but a single contract for that much money seems pretty up there? I’m sure he’s being paid by gear companies and such as well. Any ideas on the high paid contracts in the states or even the GPs for these elite guys?
And yes, this is only on my mind because I wish he was racing outdoors instead.
Rc's Suzuki contract was about 4.5 mill per year. Not sure how many years it was.
Jett signed a 4-5 year deal with Honda starting in 2022. U would have to imagine that's more then a mill per season.
I remember an old video of James, I think it was the ESPN E60 video where they said he made 11M in one year. They didn’t say what year though.
That's everything combined tho.
Contract, gear deals, race win bonuses, championship bonuses. Etc.
Thought it was $3M per year for RC from Suzuki but it wasn’t a multi year deal. Could very easily be wrong here, just going off memory of recent RC interviews.

Yes I would assume so. I know James had a very lucrative RedBull deal too.
Wasn’t Roczens first HRC contract 11 million?
I know both Reed and Stewart made a shitload of money when they signed with San Manuel band of Indians/Yamaha! That’s casino money.
a possible B league championship is still a title I guess, money is great.
You act like you wouldn’t sign the paper to race at 60% and still likely be the champion. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Absolutely can’t blame Roczen for going this route, even as frustrating as it may be as a fan of motocross.
Definitely feels like a ripcord move by WSX but with Webb now out, I don’t know how it could possibly be a competitive field. We are spoiled here in the US so perhaps there is a profitable model here but it sure doesn’t seem sustainable at the moment.
Gotta wonder where is that money coming from ... Something tells me Saudi Arabia or the UAE
Maybe you missed the part where I said the money was great. Clearly he never measured up to a premier SX title, so a B league it is. MONEY IS GREAT! Yes, I think most would do the same.
Would Ken be giving Jett any problems this summer if he stayed the course? looking to place some blame for this bs outdoor season.
I do know on RC’s Whiskey Throttle episode GL asked him what he made in his best year. It was 2006 and he made 9 Million. That’s everything, but still. 9 million in 2006 would be like 12-13 million today.
You're racing AX this winter? Dude, yer like 50 and sit on your ass.
There was a interview with herlings out there I think he was on 4-5 million a year it said ( could be wrong ) he’s definitely the highest in mxgp , I would assume that includes bonus’s and everything but again not certain
The interview was in Dutch while driving.
He said he best year ever was 4.5mill or 4-5mill. But that includes his championship bonus and wins etc. So his contract from ktm would be about 2mill. Plus 1 mill championship bonus another mill in win bonuses and then gear deals.
Op is asking for contracted salary.
No I didn't miss it. It was just clearly throwing shade at KR and besides the point of the thread.
Pit Row
these salaries are dogshit
you can live a pretty middle class lifestyle on a million a year in SoCal or NYC..obviously alot more in a place like GA or FL but inflation is ketchn' up
You are correct sir

how much is Gajser's contract?
Good for Kenny! And people can’t understand why he chooses WSX to the Nationals, haha..
If they dish out this kinda of money, that’s bad news for the Nationals. It only needs another 3 or 4 top riders going WSX and there’s nobody left racing the 450 nationals..
Should be around the same. Heard he opted out of a monster contract because his fanclub is so big in Slovenia, so that should be a good revenue as well
RC confirmed on whisky throttle that he made 9 million in his best year when Langston said he heard a rumor.
LOL. The penetrating insight. They've been underwritten/loaned start up funds like almost all businesses.
The earnings arecoming from WSX broadcast subscribers, commercial advertisers, series sponsors, bums on stadium seats, merchandising opportunities and so on.
With Kenny you never know what you gonna get. Still the fastest guy on the planet in the first 1-2 laps probably, great at Pala and Thunder Valley and might dunk on everyone at Unadilla. So would he win motos and 1-2 overalls? Yeah I think so. Championship contender? Probably not.
I'm also bummed that we don't get to see Kenny outdoors this year but traveling the world and making bank must feel good. On top of that I will finally get to see Kenny riding supercross at the german round this year and I can't wait.
Nowhere near considering a guy like Tomac's base salary is around $3m for 1 year. I want to say Kenny's first Honda contract was 11m
This
Dollars per race competed in, it isn’t even close. Kenny didn’t compete in a whole lotta races from 2017-2019.
Mubadala Capital, the asset management arm of the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund has pony'd up 50 million over five years for the venture. The arrangement & aspiration does ring a bit like Liv golf but on a much smaller scale.
The exclusive promoter is Australian company ; SX Global.
on a dollar per race basis you’d have to think this is the biggest.
Post a reply to: Is Roczen’s $6M+ WSX contract the biggest single contract in MX?
