I read on the FB group that a guy said he didn't notice any difference when he installed the vforce.

Mine ran worse on the 125, lost low end

I installed and Dyno a vf4 on 2 different sx 150, a 18 and a 19, they both lost a tiny bit of hp even when the jetting was tweaked to suit

That’s your call, if I was going to have a open class bike it’d be a 450.

I have a 23’ 250sx I’d happily sell for a little less then that.

New to the conversation but I think I'm going to pick up a 24 in a few months. I currently have a 2021 KTM 250 SX with the KTM 300 kit and I love how the motor and chassis reacts to my riding style. I had PC re-valve the air fork and shock, I also added the PC linkage and a set of KTM Powerparts split clamps.

I'm looking for some feedback on the new chassis and if anyone has recommendations. Should hold off on buying a new one, is there a particular motor mount or linkage that will make the frame softer and more compliant? I also heard the new 4T F.E will have some frame changes and will those trickle down to the 2T for 25?

My friend who is a pro rider has a 23 sx 250 sbs says it's one of the best bikes he's ever ridden

It’s starting to sound like a repeat of the tpi. Some bikes are fast, a few are really slow, and most are in the middle.

This is two tanks of gas

Running 1 gallon of avgas 100LL

to 4 gallons of e10 93

60:1 with Motorex 2T

I did build a ‘13 300SX and while that bike was a monster, this ‘23 300 is so much more refined.
It puts the power to the ground so much smoother.

I also agree it could use more grunt, I’m sure they went safe on the head.

Be it chassis, suspension or engine inertia the new  2 strokes feels more compliant than  the 4 strokes.

I also came off a 21 250 with a 300 kit. Mine was built by twisted and it absolutely ripped. The 23 is a tad slower than my built 300 but not a huge difference. The built one could pull third outta the tightest of corners whereas the 23 I’ll have to use 2nd. The 23 is also sneaky fast as it’s so clean and smooth off the bottom. I would say my 21 and 23 motors are very close to each other and that’s a good thing!

I absolutely love the new chassis more. Did so right off the bat, it feels so much more precise and can change directions with ease. It’s a bit more nervous but once you adjust for that the added precision through long ruts and when turning lower are well worth it.

I put the motor at 5% worse than my built 21 and the frame at 30% better. Overall I like my 23 300 way more than my 21 300

I do however share people’s frustrations that we cannot do anything with this locked ecu and have no jets to change. From idle to full throttle my bike runs better than any carb bike I’ve owned. Conversely, when going from full throttle to half back to full  my bike has a hesitation and it feels very rich. This was always a minor thing but has developed to become more of a concern of mine last time out.(I’m hoping I had bad fuel)I’m at 45 hours right now and kinda scratching my head with it. I need another ride on it to really develop my opinion of what is going on. I’ll have mine and another friends to ride back to back this Saturday to see if I notice it on both our bikes. Apparently twisted development has cracked the ecu too so there is that option now.

I have had a cracked ECU since March,, 125/250/300…runs killer.

Pretty sure John Ross has been timing them for a few months now. Tuning the PV as well.

One thing about this thread any many other KTM/ Austrian bike threads………………convinced me I don’t want one.  The two Hondas and that one Yamaha in the garage are not to much of a problem.  I’m good.

When you come across such a bit of stupidity, near right at the start of a video, you wonder how he / they can stuff up , and put out a video with such a mistake. Even if scripted by a drongo, Mossiman should know it's wrong.

Yup, RZs had an electronic, actuated by cable power valve, way back in the 80s, but a YZ250 - ahh, nope.

Yeah, no.

Verdict: False... but partially so.

Yamaha has been using an electronic PV actuated by a stepper motor for about 30 years... but not on the YZ250.

It was used on the short-lived WR200 sold in the states (along with other 200 and 230cc models sold in other markets) and is still used on a 230cc version of that Yamaha engine that they supply to other manufacturers.

The only issue I've had with my 300SX so far at 5.5 hours is the "t" hose for the radiators.

Installed titanium raptor pegs that are 5mm down and 10mm back.  I have a size 12 foot and perfect for me.  Definitely made it more comfortable.

I've been running BelRay at 60:1 with 93 octane pump gas with no issues.

I seem to be the only one that feels this way but installed the PC pipe/silencer and not sure I'm liking it better than stock.  It somehow cleaned up the jetting a lot.  The mid and top are a lot cleaner and revs out further which is all great.  Love it but not enough to offset the loss in low-end torque.  Does anyone else feel the same?  I'm still on stock gearing.  If I hadn't had a small loss in low end with PC it would be perfect.  Think I'm going to test them back to back soon and maybe go back to stock.

Thinking about getting a GET ECU tune.  Any feedback from those?

Looks like I’m in the clear.

Somehow I cracked a radiator on the backside. Bike pinholed coolant for a while causing it to get hot. She flattened the inner rubber o-ring and started burning off what coolant was left. Cylinder looked good with no cracks or scoring. I guess I need a right radiator and an o-ring set and I’m good.

Try going up 1 on the rear, makes 3rd usable in all but the tightest of turns.

Exhaust backfire, sputter, release...

Idk what it is, but ~50% of the time I come off the track this happens, 1-2 seconds after killing the engine.

Thank you.

13 hours and the starter & kill on the same side is still awkward.

I agree, for MX is not too bad, but for GNCC or hare scrambles it is No good…

I now have about 2hr on the updated mapping and it’s an improvement for sure.  Cold start, idle, and low to mid rpm feel much cleaner.

I am referring to the 001 Map (I believe is the #) that came out June 13th.

Has anyone tried a Steahly 7oz Flywheel weight?
