However, I think Stewart could possibly do it. Heck, how many races did he win last season, 10 or more, right?
JS1 is still relatively young and has at least 5 years ahead of him. If he keeps having years like last year he'll have another 30 in 3 more years.
Good luck James and get well soon!
Paul Jr.
no rider, in the history of this sport, did as much to advance it as MC did, and that includes RC. Pastrana is a close second, but his advancing was more the FMX/XGames line.
imo, james can get 73 wins. power to him. 73 wins is NOT 7 SX championships. The only way, imo, that James could dethrone MC... get several perfect season, break 73 wins and 7 championships. Then we can talk. But until then, JS will just have to be content to be known as the fastest man ever on a motorcycle. Which I would accept in a heartbeat.
Seems to me you've got a poisoned well (lead?) and they're pumpin' Denver's shitty air your way...because that's jus' gotta be the most lamest-most-un-informed post you've made.
How old is Stewart?
How many mains will he win if he races another -5- years?
How many people have been able to hunt him down and pass him?
I'm jus' sayin'...
He ran from RV outdoors, he can't do it indoors as easy.
Could he? Hell yes.
Will he? I doubt it.
It seems to some us fans of the sport he has lost some interest in "breaking all the records". He knew he was signing a SX-only contract when he signed it.
You know you can catch Reedy in career supercross wins this year, are you aware of that?
I think he’s got thirty-five.
Yeah, you’re at twenty-nine.
I’ve got thirty-one guy.
Yeah that’s what I meant. You can pass him for third all time.
You what’s funny is I’m not going after him. He’s not the one I want to get, you know which one I want.
Dude, he’s the King, you can’t do that.
Yeah, every king has to move over sometime. He’ll always be the king; I would be like his servant or something. He’ll always be the man, it’s a long ways to go though. The only way I would beat Reedy in the overall wins is to win this championship.
It’s crazy to think how many wins seventy-two is, that’s a shitload. You’re gnarly and you have thirty-one and it seems like you win all the time and he’s double you and plus some more!
I look at it like he raced 1993 to 2001 and that’s eight years. If I race four more years and get ten wins a year I’ll beat him. I feel like I can do that.
That's the one he's after, good luck.
You MX fan's are out of luck!
I don't know why, but like some others have said, I just don't seem him sticking around that long.
JMO
MC won his 1st 250 SX at age 21.
James won his 1st 250 SX at age 19.
MC had 29 250 SX wins by the time he turned 24 yrs old.
James will be 24 yrs old next month and he has 36 wins.
So yes, it is possible.
Pit Row
When he wins, he wins big. When he goes down, he goes down big.
His flamboyant life seems to pull him into alot of directions too
I don't see him lasting
IMHO
I have been a fan of Bubbas and loved watching him come up to challenge RC, but he seems such a let down of late, consistently letting down his fans and especially the murky way he handled the Nationals. Sounds a bit dramatic, but as a fan I don't believe a word he (Or his manager) says anymore.
He has one thing going for him - SX only. If he was still trying to ride outdoors, that would seal the deal and there'd be no way he'd stay in the sport long enough. In addition, James is going to have to contend with Reed and Villopoto, and they're going to take some wins. James also makes enough mistakes and puts it on the ground often enough so that he's probably not going to put in 12+ wins in very many seasons.
It's all speculation, but if I was a betting man, I'd have to go with the stats and bet that MC will still hold on to his title as the king of SX. James is probably the FASTEST SX rider and probably the BEST SX rider, but that may not translate into being the WINNINGEST SX rider.
Murky way he handled the Nationals. You didn't hear it was an SX only contract until when, right before the Nationals?
Does that mean we can put a (*) by it if he does it?
Post a reply to: Seriously, 72 SX Wins-that's a tall order
