noob Started a new thread Sibot / The Real Estate Agents

3/16/2012 2:48am
I'm really liking it. It's kinda like what the Chemical Brothers did for the Fight Club soundtrack. It's on iTunes - 50 tracks for $30. I had to "turn off" 10 of the the tracks (pretty much anything with lyrics). But otherwise, I'm really digging it

noob Started a new thread Movies with trains... action or murder mystery

1/27/2012 8:04pm
I'm looking for cool action shots jumping between cars and cool suspensful cinemetography inside trains. What I've already rented: Murder on the Orient Express 3:10 to Yuma (shoulda read the synopsis before renting that one... not much train action!) Train (terrible horror film starring Thora Birch) I'm thinking about renting "Mission: Impossible" and "Transsiberian" next. What're some other good ones?

Hilti has a demo set up at the Home Depot with this hammer drill: ... and a couple of cinder blocks. Holy Shit!! It felt like drilling into a soft kitten...... without the guilt and PETA

Have any of you modified your foot pegs? I was thinking about getting the Fastway "Lowboy" pegs... until I found this old thread on ThumperTalk about modifying stock pegs: [i]The stock pegs have a shoulder on the bottom side that the spings slides over. Cut off the shoulder and move it to the top side. You will also have to...

... or did I see a midget mechanic in the Phoenix broadcast? I swear I saw a little nugget in a team shirt walking someone's bike while the camera crew was following Roczen off the track (after his sand digger)...

noob Started a new thread Road Bikes: How Fragile Are They?

1/27/2012 7:37pm
My mountain bike sucks to commute on. It weighs 28+ lbs, full-suspension without lock-out or a pedaling platform. If I get a road bike, would I have to dodge every crack in road? What about a square edge lip to a driveway? Also, would I be able to swap my SPD pedals onto it (so I don't have to buy...

noob Started a new thread Road Bike for Wife

1/27/2012 7:20pm
I sold my wife's mountain bike because she was complaining that it's too clunky and heavy. She wanted a road bike instead. I told her she's probably not gonna like the drop-bar position, so I talked her into a Trek FX 7.5 WSD 23.4 lbs Flat bar, carbon fork, road wheels Comfortable, casual, easy to ride... boring. But when...

noob Started a new thread GoPro vs. VholdR

1/27/2012 6:22pm
Trying to decide between the GoPro Wide and VholdR Contour HD... I have two specific questions about the GoPro: 1) Battery life - How often do you have to put in fresh alkalines? 2) Low light - Do you have problems getting decent picture when it's cloudy or trail riding through woods?

noob Started a new thread Hey DC, Nationals Video Coverage

1/27/2012 5:58pm
Since broadcast video coverage for the outdoors sucks ass... and it's unrealistic to set up wires to shoot moving camera shots like they do for X-Games... how about using radio controlled helicopters to get some more dynamic footage of the action? Wolverine Cirque Skiing from piton productions on Vimeo. Family Day at the Park from piton productions on Vimeo. Little...

noob Started a new thread What If?

1/27/2012 5:24pm
... dirt gets sucked into my air intake? What happens? I have an '02 CR250 that apparently doesn't have a tight seal where the boot meets the airbox. I'm going to seal the gap with silicone, but what are the symptoms of dirt already having gotten in there?

1/27/2012 3:07pm
Anyone been to Paris in October? Too cold, wet? Know of any good deals on airfare or accommodations? "Non-touristy" places to go? (My wife's already been, and I'm not interested in seeing the Mona Lisa) Thanks!

noob Started a new thread Sony vs. VIZIO

1/27/2012 2:54pm
I'm looking to buy a 40-46" 1080p LCD television. Sony TVs look more polished and have much better sound. Are they worth the extra money? I can get either more features or a bigger screen by getting a VIZIO at Costco. I'd like to spend under $1500 *Costco also has a 42" plasma Panasonic (1080p) for $799- but I've heard...

1/27/2012 2:04pm
What's the first step to repairing or replacing my retaining wall? I'm thinking about tearing down an 8 foot section of the fence, renting a rototiler to break up the dirt and roots, and haul off as much dirt as I can (I don't want to lose any footage to the hill, so I'm really intent on have...

noob Started a new thread Painting brick, or drywall over it?

1/27/2012 2:01pm
I'm going on hiatus for the next 2 weeks (if anyone is available to ride on weekdays, let me know!) and I want to get some projects done around the house. This is the fireplace that I want to either paint or drywall: (Yes, we have windows now) Painting It's REALLY porous, so I'm wondering how much of...
