Hilti has a demo set up at the Home Depot with this hammer drill:



... and a couple of cinder blocks. Holy Shit!!

It felt like drilling into a soft kitten...... without the guilt and PETA

I went to check out the Makita driver & impact combo. They're nice. Nothing compared to those Panasonics, but nice and a great price. I'm still trying to decide.

My Aunt worked for Hilti in Tulsa. The company is based out of Schaan, Liechtenstein.

We have a Hilti thats a bout 15years old, power cord was cracked and rotten, replaced it and that bad boy drills concrete like a champ!

Pretty much the best stuff made for real construction. As far as I need it anyway.

We have a 20 year old TE-72 that still chips and drills like new.

Stay away from the Dewalt Impact. I have gone thru 2 of them in the last year. Makita is light but doesnt feel like it would last. Im gunna check out the Hilti next time. I use my impact everyday so I need something thats gunna last.

for around the home, Hilti is overkill, but it's top notch for sure.

I ended up with a Makita hammer drill (corded) and I've been happy with it's performance, bang for buck.

HILTI's go through concrete like a hot knife through butter. They are the Rolls Royce of hammer drills/demolition hammers.

That doesn't sound too bad for Hilti. Home Depot usually has those Milwaukee or Dewalt multi tool kits for that or around $100 more. You get a couple more tools but dang!......It's a Hilti! I've been thinking about a new cordless hammer drill myself. I have an old Porter Cable 12V driver/drill from around 1990 and I doubt if i can get batteries for it anymore.

I have a Dewalt that is 15 + years old, fell off a 3 story building onto pavement, was dropped into a creek 8 years ago and pulled out an hour later and worked fine less than a minute out of the water. Still works like new. lol
