Does not look good like he did on Honda. I watch him today in Oldebroek dutch masters and he look not comfortable on bike. I wonder what he struggle with after the speed he show end of last year?
I think he is still recovering from injuries.
That track is only open once a year, I wish I could have been there to see how rough it gets.
He’s still recovering from a wrist injury.
Yup clearly still injured.
Needs to get healthy N put in some solid rides before season end.
Otherwise he will be riding back in aus.
Kawasaki should give that ride to Calvin Vlaanderen

He said in an mxvice post race interview that the injuries aren't the problem but he's actually dealing with an illness and always feeling tired but they got bloods done and it's nothing too serious and he should be on top of it soon.. I have joked with a mate that I bet Konsky has messaged him a couple of times he loves to swoop in on the ex GP riders haha
Not doubting that, but word was his wrist injury kept him out if the first two MXGP’s
Forato ?
Forato is on better equipment (factory bike) than Vlaanderen is right now.
I thought it was a thumb injury just before Argentina (as well as the older wrist) or are you saying they just said that so it didn't look like his wrist was a problem? But either way I meant he's saying he's over those injuries and now it's the illness.. Edit: I probably should've mentioned that the interview was after the France round a week ago
I really hope he can put it together soon and be the podium threat he was showing himself to be before all the shitty injuries
If he can sort his shit out, Damn Australia is looking good for des nations this year
Yup.
Hunter 250, Jett 450, and a fit Mitch or Kyle Webster Open
Ferris been faster more rounds then Webster this year in aus mx
I was about to say the same but also that Ferris has said in the past that he's retired from des Nation duty and if there's one thing we can stand by it's Dean sticking to a retirement statement haha
Dude has said retire more than Johnny Farnham haha
The track was very sketchy, but not really rough as in deep sand rough (it's not a sand track like Lommel or something like that).
he's up near the Darryll King level of retirements,
The Honda connection would sway it.
I see a video of it on YouTube, you’re right the track was sketchy fast but not rough like Lierop got.
Pit Row
Was it Ferris or Waters? Maybe even Gibbs.
A couple years ago one of them said they are not putting their hand up for mxon. They want to allow the younger riders an opportunity.
But if team Oz want them they would not hesitate and still race.
I think Ferris would still be the best option not coz he is the fastest but coz he is least likely to crack under pressure. Otherwise if u want speed I would probably take tanti ATM.
Or both hunter brothers on 450s. And Wilson Todd on a 250 but use a bit of pull and get him on a hrc bike.
I don't know if Gibbs has said it for sure but both Ferris and Waters said leave it to the kids haha I mean it's probably an easy decision to make when you're a bit older, in Australia and there's 2 young super fast factory brothers in the US and a young kid on a factory team in Europe haha..
I would only say Ferris isn't the best option due to being on a privateer team over here and no 'sister company' to supply a bike, bt I'm sure they'd get all that worked out..
I mean it's fair while away haha and like I said hopefully Mitch gets back healthy and up front soon and becomes the best option
Jed beaton also option.
I would rather dust off Chad Reed and get him back out there before Kirk Gibbs, seem to remember him getting lapped about 3 times by Herlings at Redbud few years back
I recall that he turned it down ahead of the 2022 season...
Calvin seems pretty happy with the Gebben guys. They seem to gel really well together, the team seems willing to do whatever it takes to make him happy, and a lot less pressure.
Bad option reed would be at this stage of his career 😕
Haha I'd forgotten about him always popping back up haha I can't remember much else except Arai helmets and that it seemed like he was ALWAYS up front in a race and always right there.. but that memory could be from 1 race or from 10! In other words cloudy haha
In an interview with Antti Pyrhonen, (MXGEOffs site), there is a short part about Evans.
Thumb injury.
Antti seems optimistic, and appreciates the Ozzies he's had on his teams, but, he's jettisoned them fairly promptly when results weren't got. Fair enough.
Evans needs to get some results, it's as simple as that. I've no idea of the length of his contract, but he'll be back in OZ, very quickly, if he doesn't get good results, soon.
He's a very good rider, but, plagued with injuries, while having been on 2 Very prominent , powerful teams - Team HRC, and now, what is the Factory Team for Kawasaki. And the 2nd rider in Teams needs to get results, too, not just the 'star' rider.
It seems so many of our compatriot riders get hurt and given the flick. And, a few in Antti's teams. Once again, fair enough - he's got to deliver the goods to his Sponsors.
I Really Do hope he gets sorted, and starts to get better results, so as to stay in the GPs.
Mitch should head Stateside. He's getting ground down in Europe.
I disagree. Webster is faster but has had some shit luck. Was 52 sec in front at Albury b4 bike stopped. Won superpole Maitland but got snippered with a rock that opened his arm up in Moto 1 and Racesafe sent him to hospital. Clean sweeped everything last round at Gillman
There would be nothing there for him, he is slow at the moment, and has little sx skills.
He needs to push through and get back in the top 10.
