I didn't go to Pala last year so I can't remember what I paid in past years, but $65 for Saturday seems a little steep. Anyone remember what they've previously cost?
$65 for ten hrs of fun is cheap.
Complains about what riders makes but cries about ticket prices. Ball sport prices are tripple if not more than this.
I think it was $50 in 2007. Soda isn't a nickel anymore either.
Went to a Brewer game the other week with some friends from work, paid approximately $40 each including splitting the parking pass for tickets in 2nd level along 3rd base. Have a paved parking lot to tail gate, toilets and plenty of food and drink vendors. And they pay the entertainment a decent wage 🤷♂️

Maybe football. Baseball and Basketball play so many games a year the ticket prices can be much lower. You can easily get into a baseball game for 2 people 2 beers 2 dogs for $100 depending on the stadium. Some like the Rockies even have free parking/shuttle.
Football teams don't play as much so the prices are inflated due to this.
Try sitting courtside. Nba, or on field area nfl. Try x 100, to see the worlds best. People complaining on $65 lol. But dont think twice buying dinners, beer, cigs, casino.
If you are privy to secret handshake of the Luiseño and the Cupeño tribe you can walk right in and have all access.
Chief Little Dick of the Nohair tribe has a similar handshake routine and they have a class online.
Or just pay the money and enjoy.
People taking about stick and ball tickets…
You won’t even pay for parking at a Niners or Seahawks game for the price of a Pala ticket. Some of the seats I sell have parking provided ($100). While I haven’t gone to one of those games in quite a while, I LOVE what my tickets bring in.
I bought some “Team Experience” tix for employees last SX season for less than my average Niner ticket.
Supply and demand. NFL tickets and parking should cost more because there is more demand.
F-1 2 day general admission for Austin is 425$ plus 50 parking. 65$ is a bargain these days.
And more revenue coming in . One nfl game could pay for the whole season of mx or sx.
Wanted to take the wife and kids as the kids have never been and the wife has one been to a National at GH once. None of them have been in the pits at a National either so I looked into that as well. It was going to cost us $350 just for the 4 of us to go, plus fuel $70 in fuel to drive the 300 mile round trip, plus food and drinks, leaving the house at 6am so we can get there in time to enjoy the pits and if we stayed to watch until the end wouldn’t be leaving until 5-530 before driving at least 3 hours home. Easily looking at $400-$500 minimum to get the full experience for them. Sure, I can knock off $136 for pit passes and a few hours by not going in the pits, but it’s still a long day and a lot of money. I love the nationals, love seeing just how gnarly these guys are outdoors and seeing the pure speed they have on a motocross track, but when you look at the time and money for me to take my family versus watching it live on tv with them at home it makes it a lot easier to decide to just watch it at home.
I don't know, but for me, the whole family enjoying a day at the track, pits, autographs for the kids, maybe some donuts, food and drinks....$500 just doesn't seem that much. I mean if it was every weekend maybe it adds up, but for something you all want to do.....
For some of us $500 is a huge deal, not just pocket change.
If I wanted to go to Pala, and let's be real, most people don't get more than 1 round close by. If the tickets were $35, $45, $65, or $85 per person for an event once a year that you really enjoy, does it really matter? I think not. If you can't do without your Starbucks once a month to go to a nat, the ticket price really isn't the issue.
And adding all the other expenses is moot, because they don't change because of a ticket price.
TM
So let's say the tix were $45, you'd probably still stay home because of everything else anyway.
TM
$500 not a big deal? I have some youth kids that need a sponsor for church camp this summer, message me!
Pit Row
Just for a little perspective:;
It cost me $540 for tickets to see the Jurassic World live show, me, my wife and our 6 year old grandson.
2 hour show with fake dinosaurs, we certainly are not wealthy but my grandson loves dinosaurs so we went.....a full day of MX seems a pretty good value in comparison.
Bingo, price check. Disney world .
A month long trip to Europe costs more than a national!
I don't think the nationals are a bad deal at all, but let's try and get some more realistic comparisons going.
What are other outdoor venues, that you have to provide your own seating, and you are right next to the action going for.
It would get me a bit closer to going, that’s for sure. $20 difference per ticket drops overall ticket price $80. Ya, that’s pretty damn helpful.
Point being. $65 for a fun ,8-10 hr day to watch badass dudes on dirtbikes. Skip. Pizza, starbucks ,beer,x.tras for a month. Boom. Good. To go . All about what you can justify on your decision people complain on sx pricing also, a seat in a stadium, nice tempature etc.
$65's not terrible, but where is the money going? Apparently not to the racers.
And....here we go..... I feel like you should only be able to bitch about the promoters not paying enough if you have promoted a race yourself and know just how much financial risk is involved to make it happen.
When you're buying more than 1 or 2 tickets it adds up fast. The first year it was at Pala I was all set to make weekend out of it and stay at the casino. That's when I discovered they quadruple room prices for "Special Events". I usually roll to these solo or with one other. This weekend our daughter's enthused to take the grandkids so I'll sponsor that, and if the Grandkids are going Sue's going, I haven't done the math yet but this Saturday is going to be expensive for me no doubt. A family group discount rate would be cool but I don't imagine discounts are in their business plan. I hope it's fun cause my price per hour is going to be up there
A round of golf is more expensive, 65$ is fair.
Seems like a better deal than $40.00 for the Elsinore national in 2012 ? Talk about a shit track at least Pala has some elevation changes.
And that's to be pissed off for 4 hours.
Want to be pissed off at ticket prices.... Have daughters and a wife that like to go to concerts! Insanity that makes my blood boil knowing they pack the place with those prices.
