Setting aside how bad Eli getting hurt sucks big time……People forget that Ferrandis was noticeably faster than the field 2 years ago when he won the championship.  Chase was becoming the fastest last year and looked like he would surpass Eli this year.  Jett showed world class speed in MXDN.  Injury or not Eli might have been in 4th in outdoors.  What may be the 3 fastest riders in the world are healthy for the outdoors and yes….I follow GPs closely.  All jmho and no disrespect for Eli….especially after what happened….but I think this outdoor season was always going to show the changing of the guard generationally.

Okay…I don’t care about thumbs up or down but I am curious what people disagree with.  I think those are pretty straight up facts unless you think Prado or Herlings could be up there.  A reasonable argument but history tells you that more often then not MXGP champs usually have less success over here.

Yeah I didn't understand all the thumbs down until you realise it's Vital.

Most likely reason is you covered quite a few different areas in one post and it only takes ONE thing to trigger people on the internet and mash that down button.

The choice reply from Raikzz is probably the best counter argument you're gonna get.

Eli was last year's MX champion and was walking his way to be this year's SX champ before that weird injury. To say he's automatically behind Dylan, Chase and Jett because Dylan was fast 2 years ago is just foolish. Your opinions aren't facts.

I most definitely did not say automatically.  I said might have…big diff.  I was making the point that the 450 class is not depleted of the fastest riders, aside from Eli, for outdoors and the comment like Dung and RV could come back a kick ass is a much farther stretch then my points.  And the facts were what I said about the 3.  All true.  List what I said, without putting words in my mouth, that was wrong.  Specifically.  Use quotes of my post if you want.

On top of that ( and some may disagree ) But Eli went to another level on that Yamaha. Not taking anything away from Dylan , because the guy is an animal!  Just pointing out that I think Eli would have been even stronger this year.

Is it too late to throw Vialle on a 450, afterall he is a two time 250 champ.

The only "facts" you stated were that Ferrandis was blazing fast 2 years ago, and Jett showed world class speed at the des Nations. The rest was opinion and speculation. Like aeffertz said, Eli was last year's MX champ, and was well on his way to winning a second straight SX title this year. No way does he suddenly fall to a 4th place guy.

Ferrandis has been focused on MX prep for a couple months now, right? I think MX will look a lot like SX did but with Dylan replacing Eli and Plessinger replacing Coop.

Sexton

Ferrandis

Plessinger

I hate to say it, but I don't think Dylan will be like he was in the last couple years. We're looking at sexton and Lawrence with webb and Barcia coming in after a few rounds. If webb does. Anderson maybe. It's going to be a weird outdoor season... who knows, maybe McElrath becomes a podium contender? AC of course. I dunno.

He could have done that in mxgp series.

With this mess, Ken would be smart to ride Nationals.

Unless Mav has some inside source, he is just guessing. I’d wait to be disappointed on kens decision until it’s announced.

"...put RJ on that damn 450!"

That was the first question someone asked RJ in the press conference yesterday, and he said nope, he's a 250 guy. Doesn't mean things can't/won't change, but as of yesterday they hadn't.

Guess you missed last summer with Dungey, huh? Finished 6th in points in front of both Plessinger and Barcia.

Okay…so you think Dung can beat Ferrandis….who won by 73 points in 21 and he is healthy again and has been prepping for a couple months for MX?

or….you think he can beat Chase…who has had the most speed indoors and out for the past year and is now staying upright to finish with the speed? (Eli beat him by 7 points in MX)

or…..Jett who beat down MXDN …but has an admittedly slim 450 history…but still….he is blazingly fast.

sorry…love Dung but no way he beats any of these guys I named in outdoors at this point in his life….and he would agree.

and yes….Eli may, or may not, have beat any of these guys.  Last year was last year and he is getting older while they are younger and getting faster.  Yea….he showed great speed and managed the SX season and almost beat a rider that showed more speed.  A credit to Eli had he won the championship…but he didn’t.  So as I said….he MIGHT have been in 4th in outdoors had he raced.  Of course it’s my opinion….wish we could watch it play out….but…

Ryan Dungey is probably the most consistent rider to swing his leg over a dirt bike. The outdoors are rarely about blazing speed, rather consistency.

Ferandis is having trouble staying healthy as of late. Let's see if he can finish a season first.

Chase has Dungey covered for sure, but he's also known to make really dumb mistakes.

Jett will have a rookie moto or two where he finishes 8th or worse.

I'm not saying RD would win the title. I'm just saying you're high, if you don't think he'd be competitive with those guys. 2022 Washougal moto 1 hung with Tomac and Sexton just fine.

What Dung did coming back and how well he did was amazing and before he retired the first time he was the man….but you are referencing 1 moto to make a point?  He was almost 200 points behind the top 2.  Come on.  I watched every race and cheered loud for him….but he wasn’t really a threat to the leaders the majority of the races….and that’s okay.  When he was the man he was THE MAN.  One of the greats.  …..and he saved KTM from looking really bad last year.  They owe him for that but I don’t think he got the thanks from them, or Roger, that he deserved.

You may be right, obviously been a tough time for him recently, but there is also every chance he comes out like a rocket and shakes things up again.
