I’m at 10 hours and put my rekluse plates in today. Stock plates looked a little burnt. Didn’t really notice when riding. IMG 1049

Is there a place you can find out when GYTR parts will be available? I found the offroad catalog, are all the parts listed available? image-20230507190242-1

I found this page but there aren't very many parts.  I was wanting to check out the wheels and a hydraulic clutch I hear rumors of Aug for the clutch. Thanks https://yamaha-motor.com/shop/motorcycle/accessories?serie=Motorcycle%3…

Did new kit come with spring and plate with adjust options or just new plates?

We have finally Yamaha plates in stock but im looking to get stiffer spring. Now im just running 1mm extra plate to get more pressure.

I’m not sure, but clutch stack height is very important for a belville spring clutch. Making the stack thicker will cause the spring to lie flatter and causing it to apply less pressure… but again..  not sure.

Thats why stiffer spring will benefit in deep sand, now as plates worn out spring pressure will get softer. Used pack +1mm extra will get some that back and add little pressure that is pretty much what KTM adjustment is with 3 different options on plate. There are also stiffer springs for KTM so hope someone makes one to Yamaha also soon.

No, it just comes with a new center plate for the bolts that has 3 settings. You measure the rekluse plates and fibers as a stack and set to the thickness that rekluse says. So I guess it does set the pressure more or less depending on the thickness.

Alot of that GYTR stuff isn't available in the states. For example that radiator cap I got from a super nice guy in France. Either Euro or Australia has the good goods.

On a belleville spring clutch, as the plates wear the clutch spring gets stiffer. This is because the spring effectively goes “over-center” as it approaches flat.

Heads up on Light Speed Carbon Glide plates, I ordered 04/07/23, 17 days and it still hasn't shipped. I was told it may be in the next batch if not it would be 10 more days. That was  Thursday, I ordered a case saver too it would be cool if they had went ahead and shipped that separate. $225.00 for the glide, 69.00 bucks for a little piece of aluminum stock for the case saver plus 15 shipping, feeling pretty stupid for not going some where else.

I eventually gave up and it’s somewhere in limbo. Maybe Varner has it, who knows?

Yup so here we are at 1 month and 1 day about 2 batches past my original batch but I am in the next batch glide plate batch! LOL They always answer and are very nice, last week the nice lady suggested she send my case saver separate and that I would get a email confirmation. She took my number and said she would call me back that day after doing some math to see where I am at in line. A couple days later I called and asked had she sent the case saver? She said she would get right on it. I never received an email or call back but looked at my orders on their page and saw a tracking number for my case saver was created Friday and as of today still hasn't shipped. So is this stupid glide plate worth it? I am thinking of cancelling my order I put a LightSpeed logo on my graphics I will add a sticker to it that says LightSpeed SUCKS. It would be okay had they put a notice there when you buy it that it is not is stock and you may have to wait forever.

The Cycra for the 22 yz 450 fits. Just need a little longer bolt for the rear.

it does? Iv'e been waiting and waiting for a plastic skid plate and a 22 would work this whole time? Why wouldn't Cycra just sell the 22 for the 2023 and just include a longer bolt? makes no sense

How hard is reinstalling the bracket after an oil change? Can you stick your fingers through the holes and hold the bracket? Thanks.

I have the p3 carbon on mine and I’m sure the brackets are similar. I always see about where the bracket will end up and use 2 sided tape to hold it in place. I have 8 hours on mine and the bracket is still in place and I always take my skid plate off to wash the bike. Just clean that area where it sits on the frame with alcohol

19-22 clutch cable is little longer than 2023 model. If you dont have 23 available, old will work.

Traction control in tuner app. What is it really doing ?? my first time with 4T bike......there are no wheel speed sensors so i'm guessing it just changes mapping and power etc ?? or ??

From what I understand it senses an abnormally rapid increase in RPM when hitting a slick spot -  poor man’s wheel speed sensor. Ignition timing is retarded, not sure if fueling is changed.

From my experiences using it on KTM and Honda the better throttle control you have the less you will need it, dry slick or wet slick it’s useful and will keep you outta trouble. The negative is it hurts the ability to break traction and rear steer.

Oh HAPPY DAY!!!

I’ve been dreaming of a day when the new YZ450 would make it’s way into my life! Walked into Sehorn Yamaha in Shawnee Okla to order a part for my YZ250 2-stroke and jokingly asked Mack the salesman if my new YZ was in yet?! He said we have 2 more coming and both are spoken for BUT if you wanna leave me your number, I’ll call ya if anything changes?! I gave him my cell and walked out thinkin’ that call ain't ever gonna come in!     Fast forward 24 hours and Mack calls, says “hey dingleberry, time for you to put yer $$$ where your big phat pie-hole is or forever shut up about a new YZ!” A little “wtflip am I gonna do” later and a quick chat with the wife who says, “better jump while ya can!”  The delivery truck rolls in Friday morning and I rolled out with it Friday afternoon, and now the bike of my dreams is in my shop! I am FIRED UP to get this bad boy dialed in and out on the MX track, livin’ my best version of moto hero-dom! New bike day RULES! 😎 👍❗️
