They still do the Monster Can for the Pit Party except for it appears Detroit and Indianapolis

Been going to SX at stadiums all for over 30 years

practice/qualifying is OPEN SEATING on the lower level of one side of the stadium. Your seat assignment is for the NIGHT SHOW only  They typically only open a gate or two on the side of the stadium that is set up for viewing practice/qualifying.

Monster cans have been getting you in the pits for years now.

in saying all that, you have to do your own investigating on how things are set up and being run as the stadium faculty typically knows NOTHING and can’t answer any of your questions.

sorry you had a bad experience

I agree. In the short time I have been on Vital, I have read way too many posts where a person makes a reasonable point and is met by a horde of idiots wielding pitchforks of rudeness.  It’s strange because in my experience moto people are usually very cool.

The daytime program started at 7:00am today when the pits and fan fest opened. First timed qualifying started at 8:00am. Final timed qualifying started at 10:30am. They aren’t allowing ANY fans to take their seats in the stadium until after 11:00am. And if your tickets are in the 200s second level section, you can’t take your seats until 11:30am. The night show starts at 1:30. Until 11:00am 60% of the stadium is blocked off and inaccessible. You can’t really even catch a glimpse of the track until the stadium if fully open for the night show.

I want my money back for my tickets. My wife and our son don’t want to stand in front of the concession stands for hours doing nothing after we’ve already weaved thru the fan fest crowds. What a joke. Never paid for a Supercross race where the only part of the race you get to watch is the night show… and I’ve attended them since the end of the McGrath era. (Not to mention the $15 bucks each to get into the ‘Fan Fest’.)

Make a claim with your card provider if the fine print is in your favour (or not).

Different, but I received a full PayPal refund from MXGP-TV for the hopeless telecast from the wet Assen MXON.

Thanks for sharing. I always attend one SX race in person per year, usually Indy or Detroit. One of the reasons we attend is to watch the practice in person, other wise I would just sit at home on my couch. What's cool about watching the practice in person is you can move around a good portion of the stadium for different points of view (some of the stadium is closed off during practice)  . However, my wife and I were talking about going to Nashville next year to watch the race because we enjoy the Nashville music scene. We were thinking of making it a 4 day trip to watch SX and hit up the bars in Nashville. Considering what you experienced, I will definitely reconsider the idea of attending the SX race in Nashville. Hopefully, they change this policy. I am curious where you could get this information before buying tickets.

It’s because OP is bitching about something that isn’t a problem and every other moron without a clue is chirping in “this is bullshit blah blah”.

-Stadiums are never fully open during qualifying. It’s always only a few select sections. OP was trying to get to his seat and duh you can’t do that until the night program because:

-There is no assigned seating until the night show.

I’ve been going to sx races for 30 years and it’s always been the same.

Dude is getting ragged on because he made himself miss qualifying, didn’t read anything about his tickets before going to the race when he’s obviously inexperienced.

I’m flabbergasted how the OP is so clueless as to think he could only watch practice from his ticketed seat and then made this foolish post.

Practice is general admission.  Grab any seat in the entire half of the stadium that’s open.

I’ve never been to a day race, but I wouldn’t automatically assume the stadium is going to let me in at 8 am. Was there nothing on your ticket about the stadium opening time?

I would be upset as well, but I would kind of expect something like this and do some research before the event.

ATL let you in early, not sure what Nash-Vegas` problem was.

Atlanta was fully opened during qualifying and it was also a day race. It was last year as well.

I got there at 8am. Walked right in with regular tickets (I was in section 231), sat down (in a different section than my seats as I knew the upper levels wouldn’t be open yet) and watched the first round of qualifying no problem. Then went to the pits after. For qualifying I was always told it’s open seating since they don’t have the upper levels open yet, your paid seat is for the night show. My only complaint about Nashville would be when everyone was coming back in from fan fest, they had you funnel into one kind of small entrance of the stadium. It got super congested, it took probably 30 minutes to get about 100-200ft before it opened up. I’m used to going to the Arlington round, so much better configuration than Nashville.

Same thing happened in NJ. It was ridiculous to get out of the pit area.

And monster can worked in NJ for pits.

Geezzzusss the crowd was in for practice.

why the op didn’t get in is unknown.

But a whole lotta others sure were, I was there.

Feel bad for op but to say no one got in until the night show just isn’t true.

Watch practice on Peacock.  Fans are in the stands.

I went to the Nashville SX. I wasn't planning on watching practice or qualifying, so I got there with my wife and daughter about 10:30. I brought three empty monster cans, got our hands stamped outside the gates, entered the stadium, and made our way to fan fest. Ended up getting to our seats about 12:30 or so.

The only compliant I personally have is about parking. I live about 10 minutes from the stadium, and it took me over an hour to get parked (I had a parking pass). I followed the instructions the stadium posts for getting to the lot for my pass (the same instructions followed for Titans games). However, when I was about 10 cars away from entering the lot the police decided to divert everyone back onto the interstate to come in another way. This added about 30 minutes to the time it took me to get to the lot. I had a buddy come later that parked in the same lot, and he said that way was opened back up. I'm not sure whose decision it was to close the entrance that you're supposed to use for getting to that lot.

I was there, I’ll agree in some aspect, there wasn’t enough seats open for practice/qualifying, it was pretty much packed what was open and more ppl couldn’t get into seats because there really wasn’t enough, needed to be more open in my opinion.

That’s pretty lame. I would imagine it’s due to lack of staff wanting to show up to work before 11am

They were still getting staff signed in when I got there around 9. Not sure what their jobs were but I just saw the event staff shirts.

So the OP just couldn't figure out where to sit and blames Feld.....and then a bunch of other people that weren't there blame Feld too because Feld must suck so bad.....oh wait....the OP couldn't figure out where to sit and looking back at him in a mirror is the actual problem.  Got it.

Not sure if it was mentioned, I haven't read every post for 3 pages but they screwed over the VIP FCA group also. My family got up at 4am to head to nashville to get at gate 9 by 6am. The Feld rep for our group never showed up, about 80 people got up early for nothing and was left standing outside. Not blaming the Mark and the FCA group, but I think Feld knew they weren't going to send anyone to meet us that early and just didn't bother notifying anyone.

Atlanta in 2018 and 2019 was the same way. I went straight to my seat and watched practice and qualifying. There were people in every section watching. Daytona 2021 was the same way. Pitts were closed, but I saw practice, qualifying and race from my seat. In the last 20 years I’ve always seen practice and qualifying from my seat.

I had prepaid parking for LOT A and apparently that lot wasn't open for SX, had a security guard tell us to park in a LOT across the road from the juvenile building and tell the attendant we worked for the stadium so we could park for free. It worked, but I had already paid $35 for prepaid parking so it wasn't exactly "free" but thankfully we didn't have to pay twice.

My prepaid Lot was A also. After being sent in a big circle, I did get into Lot A and they scanned my pass. The lot was mostly full when I came back out from the race - and we stayed until after the podium interviews and about 15 minutes after that, so I imagine that lot was all the way full. I think the parking staff/police didn't know what was going on (or someone was telling them incorrectly).

I don’t know what sort of transit system that Nashville has, but most of the big sporting events that I go to are in Seattle and I don’t think I’ll ever do any stadium parking again. The train system works so well that I park almost an hour’s drive away and get there in minutes. The best part is that after the event you can get back to your car and have dinner before some people even get out of their parking.

May not work everywhere, but it works great there.
