Just curious how KTM can put out a release for their 2024 bikes but a ton of parts are back ordered for the 2023 models? Any thoughts?

No media allowed until all backorders are filled!

Lol. No company would ever announce a bike.

try snowmobiles. new models are announced and in some cases opened up for spring orders before the existing models have arrived to be delivered to customers.

What “tons of parts” does a ‘23 KTM need?

Different plastic pieces is what I am mainly taking about. It is nothing major, just something I have noticed since I got my 23 last June (350 SX-F) I have had issues getting different parts. This is my first KTM. Never run into this before with other brands.

Blame Italy.

That's where all the parts are made (or not made in this case)

I just had to send a big box of 250F motor parts to a rider in Holland because everything there is back-ordered - but between AEO and RMATV they had the goods.

About a year and a half ago, 450 clutch kits were back ordered for months.   Lockdowns really did put a glitch in the matrix.

Waiting on a backordered wiring harness for my 23 350. Dealer was able to splice broken wires together for the time being but it is frustrating knowing new bikes will be arriving with the same harness that I’m waiting on.

This is insanity to me, for the $ we pay for new bikes.

Not only is this problem industry wide but it spans multiple industries.

UFO has plastics in stock. Ordered a complete orange set from them and they came in a week.

Do they have the piece that goes on the back of the airbox? The part that the mud flap attaches to? When switching to all orange that is the only piece not apart of a complete plastic kit?

They do not have that part as of right now. They have full kits with solid airbox covers. They have a vented cover listed but its not available yet. I've had decent luck finding the 2 airbox pieces in stock until recently. I'm a small dealer/graphics company and I deal with UFO directly. They ship order out very quickly and anything they let you order is really in stock. The only difference that any of my customers have noticed has been the front fender , it doesn't have the little fins the stock ones have. Color is right on with stock orange. And fit is great too. I have not installed any myself, and I have only handled some of the plastic off of Dungey's race bike and some OEM Husky plastic. But have not compared side by side. The UFO stuff has the spacers/washers separate from the plastic. The Powerparts/OEm plastic either did not come with the spacers/washers or molds them into the plastic like past generations have. Nothing that is really an issue .

Defiantly the worst its been in years, waiting on 9 different items for 2 23s with eta's of months.

I’m waiting for an hour meter and electric start button for my 450. No ETA.

I purchased my 2023 KTM 250SXF in August and it took me until March to get a skid plate.

Unless they're warranty items, why? There are plenty of aftermarket options for those.

I have been waiting on the bracket that holds the front number plate and hour meter since January. It was supposed to be available in march but now its pushed back to June. KTM is going to keep my zip tie supplier in business holding out on me.

Touchy subject but …. Let’s just say there is a reason Moto Hose is STILL not offering the 125 and 250/300 hoses.

We have been waiting close to 9 months for OEM hoses to become available from KTM or Husqvarna. The day the cooling system and part numbers breakdown became available all hoses were ordered.

Till 2022 We have NEVER missed having every new design in stock before Christmas. Moto Hose is typically the 1st in the world to have new design kits in stock.

ETA on 2023 KTM/Husqvarna 125/250/300 ?  Who knows!

On the 250/300 we are still waiting on 1 J shaped hose. 125 we are still waiting on 2 hoses. The J shape hose and temp sensor hose.

We are even considering making the temp sensor hose both stock hose shaped and with a aluminum fitting made here in SC so you do not have to cut the plastic fitting out of the stock hose.

At least the NEW 2023 YZ450F hose kit ETA is end of May.
