Yeah, I don't see why we always have to have the "token woman" its a little cringe. I do think she's pretty good though. Probably one of the best on the team actually.

You must not have been around here in the Erin Bates days. That poor woman took as much, if not more, heat than Will has taken. And just like Will, 99% of it wasn't warranted (dropping the rock in front of Barcia's gate was definitely warranted).

I don't really know what people in here want from the broadcast team it's pretty obvious if you spend time in here everyone knows everything already (me included)

IMO, Jenny Taft was the best we have seen in that position. Probably due to the fact that she is an actual sports journalist and reporter.
It didn't take long for FOX to elevate here to their #1 sideline reporter for college football.
Speaking of Erin Bates, because of her mention in this thread I realized I hadn't seen or heard anything about her in a while.

I don't doubt every woman broadcaster has been given crap....there is a segment here that's going to complain about anything and everything. For many here, the only prerequisite is how "hot" these women are. I'm only looking at what value someone adds to the broadcast, I don't care what plumbing they have.
Prattling on during the race the way Will does is horrendous....she adds nothing of value. The endless "I spoke to"......good grief.
Keep the dialogue in the booth. Stop the trackside "commentation"....stop the freaking interviews/highlights during the race.

Hello McFly, if you haven't noticed they have gone on to bigger things. They left our little niche sport because they were good at their jobs. Sometime in the not to distant future you people will be bitching that we need a guy like Blair again after he moves on to a more mainstream sport.
We are niche, we are not getting Summerall/Madden in their prime.
My only comment on Will is she needs to relax, she even holds the microphone hard.

If it is Will or someone else they really need to change the way they use the sideline reporter. It's not her fault that the producer calls for "I was talking to so and so" stories in the middle of race action. Give her a feature during a break in the action where she shares all of the interesting tidbits she gathered working the pits all day. The only time they should call on her during race action is to update a mechanical or injury situation with new information. Some races she may never get called on, and that's okay if there's really nothing to update.
The same guys complaining about Will would probably be perfectly happy with Rutledge coming back.

I'm sure Will is a great interviewer and brings a lot of energy to the broadcast. But she should be doing podium interviews and segments in between races. Throwing it down to her in the 2nd turn of a 450 heat is a new low. I can only imagine DB and what he must think while she rambles on. 😂
