Should have kept your tongue firmly in between your teeth. You clearly have zero insight and or spreading second hand rumors as fact.
Thanks for the memories Josh!

Any thoughts of Cooksey being an actual 'journalist ' should officially put to bed.
Note I just said “Cooksey”, and nothing else.
Speculation of general moto rumor is fine, but Speculation on someone's sad and untimely passing is pretty low.
Hopefully Cooksey will acknowledge his mistake, apologize to the family and friends of the deceased and then try to do better in life.
Cooksey is a douche but he is speculating what happened. Mathes did the same saying it was a accident before the confirmation of the family. Bottom line is it is all speculation on someone trying to get the jump on a story they know nothing about.
Fuck Cooksey.
Demuth was the real deal.
Go Sherriff!
Really sad to hear of Josh passing. My condolences to his wife & family. I met Josh very briefly several years ago, and he seemed like a super genuine & humble dude. RIP.
Yeah. Pretty sure the Leticia they are referring to is his ex wife, former Ms. Supercross, Leticia Cline. They haven't been together in years. She is currently engaged to Mike from American Pickers. She also owns a bar in Cave City Kentucky where she is also on the city council. I don't think they had any kids. I watched him battling for the lead on one good leg at the Texas Pro Challenge a few years back. Total Stud. Tragic loss. Godspeed.
The Sheriff and Mike Brown at Texas Pro Challenge 2005.
Lot of people don't remember just how good Josh really was. He was right on the edge of being a top flight guy in his day but suffered a lot of badly timed injuries. Had a couple top 5s in 250SX and multiple top 10s on the 250 and 450 both indoors and out. I only met him a few times, but he was always super friendly and would talk to anyone. Definitely lived his life the way he wanted, we should all be so lucky.
This... When Josh would randomly show up at sx's and nat's he was pretty much always top 10, usually on pretty clapped bikes too. I forget the year but he almost won the US Open that one year he rode for Hart & Huntington. A tenacious MF'er who showed us all that we can do things on our own terms.
Would see him pull up to Nocona or Village at the end of my day. I'd be loading up, bazillion degrees and track beat to hell. Then he'd put on a clinic. I'd stay just to watch him.
In between motos, he was typically surrounded by kids and adult fans. Always smiling and engaging. I never wanted to "bother him" although he never appeared bothered. Guy was an absolute stud on the track and a gentleman off.
RIP Sheriff. You made a lot of my days.
Well said Gordo!!!!! Thank you for the classy memory of a great person. Rest In Peace Josh. You are remembered very fondly by everyone you crossed paths with.
Found this cleaning off my work bench today. Poster still intact
I don't have the magazine anymore, but I still have that poster!
