Wins motos, makes some rookie mistakes, and ends up 3rd in the championship behind Tomac & Sexton.

I would guess similar to Sextons 450 rookie season. Tops 5's, podiums and a win.

Jett is 5 times the rider that chase is.

There is still a lot of time before the outdoor gate drops but for me, if Jett is healthy, he is a podium guy from the start and has good odds to win it all.

With that thinking we may have our next 24-0 guy.

Chase literally finished off the podium 1 time with a 4th last year outdoors.

He should stay 250. He needs more time. He’s only 19, what is the rush? He has his whole career to race 450s. He should make as much money as he can by winning 250s. His family gave up everything you know. 450s are dangerous. It’s not like the 2-stroke days. James Stewart in 2005 or something.

It's hard not to see him on the podium a lot. 4th at worst on the occasion Roczen sneaks up there.

I say he wins the title. Dungey did it at 20 years old in his rookie season, so it's not like it's unheard of.

First rookie since Dungey to do it ..

To all the donut eating fanboys in here:

Tomac wouldn't have signed up for MX unless he's faster outdoors than last year. That '23 YZ450F was built for MX, not SX. SX setup was just a bonus that it was better than the '22 model. Tomac wants to prove he can beat the young guns before he retires.

**RV crashed out of 2010 SX once he caught Dungey in points, which made him sit out the Motocross season as well.

I think he’ll be a front runner right off the bat. I’m curious to see if the new Yamaha will affect Eli and Dylan’s performance in the outdoors

Haha gold Johnny Wink

Anyway...what I REALLY want to see is Eli and Jett get a start out front, Eli to then click full beast mode and if Jett can do anything about it.

With his riding style, and what we saw at the nations last year, you’d be crazy to think he wouldn’t be right there in the mix. He’ll certainly annihilate Roczen, webb of course, AC, Jason, Anderson, etc..

I’m more curious on Ferrandis.. he was so unbelievably fast on the 250 outdoors and of course indoors. Moves up, has balls out speed most of the time in the outdoors when he won the title, but unfortunately got hurt that next year but we saw how sick he was at the nations last year, he was unreal fast. So I’m really curious to see what he is going to bring to the table.

It’s really hard to imagine anyone stepping up to challenge Tomac and Sexton. What we got last year was absolutely epic. Now to throw in a healthy Ferrandis, and now jet Lawrence… This could be the greatest outdoor motocross series that’s ever taken place.

The thing Jett has going for him is that he's 10x better than the dudes he's racing in SX right now so he's probably been training outdoors for the better part of a month now.

Eli, Chase etc. probably have limited time on Outdoors still and won't transition for another couple weeks right?

Honestly... if he stays mistake free I think he'll be a regular in the top 5. I think he gets a moto or overall win for sure. I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a few podiums.

I just have this feeling he's going to be impressive.

Haha! Right? A sample size of 1, and that race in particular, is not a good indicator. Jett rode very well, but we need to see more to make any valid predictions.

He will likely do really well. He might surprise the hell out of me and win the thing but I don't see that happening. Top 5 for sure, top three very doable imho if he stays healthy all season but it won't be nearly as easy as winning that 250 title.

This is basically how I feel. I don’t doubt his speed and I will eat my words if he wins the championship but I don’t see him maintaining tomac and sextons pace they set last year. I know he has the speed to do it but I could see some rookie mistakes coming into play.

with that being said, who knows if tomac and sexton will set that pace again. Either way I can’t wait for the outdoors. The more people up front and fighting for wins the merrier!

I think he will show top 3 speed but struggle with battling several other guys that are at his level... he hasn't had to do that in quite some time, and he seems to get easily flustered from other riders racing him hard & close. I can see Tomac & Ferrandis in particular simply outsmarting him and outlasting him in motos. I don't think Sexton has an advantage mentally on Jett however.
