Finally.. We See Jettson in the 450 class. What are the predictions and expectations for the season?
Is a win expected from the 19 year old or is a top 5 more realistic?
Best finish?
Overall season finish?
Is he a title contender?
Do we see a new rivalry within the 450 class?
Curious to see peoples thoughts..
I think for his rookie 450 season we will be impressed. My predictions are:
5th overall at the end of the season
Win a moto, potentially even an overall.
Show a lot of speed and ultimately just fall prey to rookie mistakes.
I'm more excited to see Hunter on a 450...and Joe. I don't see Sexton winning many titles in his career, his may end up being more of a Windham type of tale.
Top 3 provided he keeps it on two wheels.
Jett isn't a rider who needs to work on his craft or maturity, hes ready.
i always talk about how we about to enter this crazy time period where majority of the 450 guys are going to be hanging up the boots and the new era will begin. exciting times, cant wait for Shimoda to get to the 450 class.
Fuckin A! He's fast, and pretty.

What time does Deegan race??
He will be top 3 when the season has ended and have a couple of wins.
We all saw what he was capable of at mxdn, and why would he do worse than that with more time to prepare and one more year under his belt?.
AND i would not be surprised if he won the title. Tomac is not the Tomac of old days any more and Sexton is doing Sexton things.
Other then those two and Ferrandis, who do you think can match Jett's speed? and Ferrandis needs to prove that he can go through a whole season again without injuries..
Think j law takes the title
I would say he would be 3rd behind tomac and sexton. Ferrandis?
Getting 2 overalls and 3 or 4 race wins.
but round 1 is fox Raceway. You would think that would be 1 of his best races so he should start of the season good and might give him extra confidence.
I think he'll finish in the standings based on the position he finishes during the race or at least very close to that.
Guaranteed he holeshots a moto at round 1, it’s the rookie way.
Other than that, I just hope he completes the season. Then it’s attack from there.
Behind Webb, Anderson, and AP in final standings and moto wins
not on the same level as Eli, chase, and Dylan
He's a good chance to win it. He has Chases number and Eli is just gonna roll around
He has Chases number? Based on what?
He's gonna blow Webb's doors off this summer
He better win with all the hype he has. Dylan won and he had no hype. If hes truly as good as people say he is anything short of a championship is a fail.
How hard is it to take out one of these insurance policies Steve Matthews talks about. I'd like to see the odds of him winning it. I'd take that bet at the right odds.
First rookie since Dungey to do it ..
Title contender, not a doubt about it.
Fernandez doesn't count as he was 36 years old
Pit Row
Jett is in it to win it! I expect no less than that effort from him. What an Out Door Summer we have ahead
He caught Chase, passed Chase , and pulled away from Chase at MXoN, TWICE!
I would guess similar to Sextons 450 rookie season. Tops 5's, podiums and a win.
MX historically has a much smaller learning curve when guys move up to the 450. They typically have success much sooner than SX. I won’t be surprised to see him right in the mix and have a podium championship finishing position.
Exactly... Paulin, Coldenhoff, Anstie are the masters of MXoN and how many world titles between the 3??
Mattia Guadagnini led a majority of laps in one mxon moto this year as well. Means nothing. Completely different event. He's gone 8-11 in MXGP since with 0 laps led.
As a member of the team expected to win, Chase’s job at MXdN was to finish near the front without taking too many chances on a wet track. Jett on the other hand, was on a team not expected to win, so he had the opportunity to really “show his stuff”. I’m not saying that Jett won’t be faster than Chase this summer, but their respective MXdN rides have little to do with what we’ll see from both riders over the course of this summer.
Jett was faster than Chase in timed practise first time ever on the 450, and beat him twice and was convincingly faster at MXON will do me.
Jett knows how to win; Chase finds ways to lose.
I think a consistent top 3 guy, and may sneak some wins in. I don't think his first season on the 450 he will match the pace that Tomac and Sexton set. If he does, awesome a 3 way battle will be sweet to see but I just don't think so.
I predict 3rd in points at the end of the season.
Wouldn’t be unheard of for him to win the title at his age with this competition. Roczen beat Dungey right after turning 20 in 2014 for the title. I don’t think he beats Tomac or Sexton. I do think he can win and beat everyone else in the final standings though.
