James understands racing more than most.

Pretty fair take by James.  Just like he said though when he ran it in on Hot sauce as a rookie.  He got taken out by IT9 5 races later.  Smith will get Deegan back.  And Deegan fanbois talking big now with rubbin is racin need to be willing to accept it when it does happen.

I don't get this post. Are you calling James a "Deegan Fanboy" as well? Unless you're on the Deegan hate-train, which it is obvious that you are, then you see that BOTH the riders, not just Haiden, were way overly aggressive for a heat race.

My worthless take on this is that Smith, who I'm always pulling for in a race, has a chip on his shoulder over the fact that Deegan is Star's #1 concern and prospect. I think Jordan knows that he is at the end of it and he's not getting the full support of the team which is putting all of their eggs into the Deegan basket because he is the future, not the past. You don't have to be a "fanboy" to recognize the obvious. It's only when your hater clouded judgement gets in the way of what is just common sense.

Aggressive riding for sure but I think one thing that really hasn't been mentioned is that when Smith went down he was on the inside and a tire behind.  Just sayin.  I was there and was watching the whole thing.  Looked like Deegan was checking up to let him by in the first turn of the "S" turn.  When Jordan cut down "which he didn't really" it looked like it "sparked" Deegan and he decided to fight.  Either way Jordan was on the inside when he went down soooooooo...............

A lot of assumptions in that take. The video of what happened tells the story. It shows Deegan riding his teammate dirty. Period. I'm not a Deegan hater, not a Deegan fanboi either. I am simply able to recognize and accept the blatantly obvious. Making excuses for how he rode is entertaining to read, but does not change the reality that Deegan was an idiot in that heat race.

I think it was stupid on both of their part. The first move by Deegan to shut Smith down right after the whoops was fine and I expect that. The next three turns was stupidity on both parts. If Smith blocks the inside right after he passes Deegan he has no issues though and likely checks out. Instead he left it open for "Dangerboy" to put a stupid move on him. From there Smith wanted retaliation and failed.

If I were Bobby I would tell "Dangerboy" that kind of riding, especially if it's with a teammate, is not appropriate unless it's for a win in the main.

I think the point thats being missed is, its your teammate and its a heat race. They're both at fault but Deegan was the instigator of it, when he slowed and looked over and Jordan went by he could have just jumped behind and went on but he dove to the inside and made a block pass again. It doesn't really matter, he's young, is what it is, but I'm sure Bobby Ragan wasn't happy just like I'm sure Hunter wouldn't have been happy if Hymas did that to him. But if Jordan gets him back, the Deegan fans can't say anything.

The whole incident is a big nothing burger. 

The only way that happens is if Smith is willing to kiss whats left of his factory career goodbye, which given his decisioning making his entire career wouldn't be surprising.

Of course that's what Mr deflect would say. Why didn't they say that in the press conference or their video. They casually cut out after the heat and went straight to the main wonder why unless you're trying to hide something. They show you only what they want you to see. 

Yeah I was pretty disappointed they didn't address it AT ALL in the video. Maybe team "orders" about the vlog on this incident? They had an opportunity to give their side/perspective and didn't even attempt it. 

James is good and has great perspective but so do many others. But you don't have to be pro-level fast to have good insight into racing. Anyone who has raced a lot usually has a good view of things.

What about people who are fine with what happened Saturday night but aren’t Deegan fanboys? I need to know what is expected of me.

I laughed too much at that. Even the JMart part had me cracking up.  

As much as I usually agree and respect James’s opinions, I can’t agree. He’s sitting on the fence with this one. I think there was attitude in every one of those moves by Deegan. No time for that carry on in a heat race, especially with your teammate.

No way man, you HAVE to be a fan boy or a hater, there is no room for objective perspective anymore. 

Deegan showed his rookie decision making, which he'll grow out of, while Jordon got sucked into rookie decision making, which actually surprised me. Jordon will yardsale every day and usually twice on Saturday, but I don't recall any emotional riding like Deegan baited him into.

Bad decisions on both sides, but it wasn't the end of the world.

If that was Hymas doing that to Hunter in a heat race  the shit storm that would erupt after that would cause a internet meltdown. 

You really think the first contact after the whoops was done on purpose? Not to mention Deegan was on the inside and at the end of the whoops they were dead even. In no way was contact not going to be made in that situation.

I’m still waiting for Savatgy to take out snack pack and Craig to take out Ferandis, if Smith does not send Danger boy into the cheap seats, I”ll be disappointed…. Eye for eye… flame on…

And the first one to be going crazy would be Hunter . The idea he d be saying  that was some good old 90s sx right there .  I thought Hunter s speech was terrible . The idea the media should not ask questions from big talking point s that happened in a race is completely ridiculous . I don't know how anyone support this . Especially so called journalist /media .
