I think the racing is always better when riders do not get into a blockfest like that. It almost always ends with a rider going down, and or others catching up. The racing is better when there are clean passes and they keep their flow going. This seemed more like something is going on off the track between Deegan and Smith. Or maybe it was just deegan getting tired of Smith being so aggressive when he was passing him, and made the decision to give it back and show Smith he too can be aggressive. Doing it in a heat where there are no points, and then still having the chance to make the main in the LCQ if needed , seems like the smatter move VS getting into something like that in a main and it costing them both some points.
With all the other trouble Smith had in the rest of the heat and then LCQ , there has to be something more to it than Deegans part played in Smiths bad night. When he went to pass on the outside like that, I guess he figured maybe nobody would expect somebody to try and go around the outside , and maybe it would work. But it seemed like such a basic rule of what not to do in an LCQ. I would like to hea Smith's thoughts , and why he did some of what he did.
Deegan seemed more like he was uncomfortable and wanted to avoid talking about what happened . I did not think he was being arrogant , his body language showed his discomfort. He is just a kid, but he has been infront of a camera and given a lot of spotlight for a longtime now, so I think he may be more comfortable than a lot of older racers dealing with press most of the time.
Please explain how this is an outstanding post….Both riders were out of line but Deegan didn’t have anything to do with Smith not making it into the main…he was in a qualifying position when he flew off the track after the whoops and then he stuffed it into the tower all on his own….stalled it in the LCQ all on his own so exactly how did Deegan take him out of it? You guys are blinded by your hate sooooo much that you can’t even think coherently…..
Lol come on...talk about ignoring the context.
He was comparing the split decisions they have to make on the track and the criticism riders get from people that don't have to make those decisions...and he used the phone bill as an analogy for that.
It had literally nothing to do with people not being able to make ends meet!!! Sheesh relax a bit.
Then maybe they don't need a phone if they can't pay for it! He's not arrogant, he is just telling the truth.

Jordon Smith rookie SX season: 12th, 4th, 21st, 13th
Haiden's rookie SX season through 4 rounds: 4th, 4th, 6th, 3rd
Lets talk again in 2031 and compare their careers.
Magoofan is a part of the woke mob, turns everything around to be offended by it instead of understanding the context of the comment.
There is an old quote from a black face Robert Downey Jr.
"Never go full retard"
This rings true for you
Jo Shimoda would disagree. Other than that, you’re right. It’s going to be awhile before Deegan even sniffs Hunter’s exhaust.
Ah, another thread and another argument involving Don.
Now there's a surprise.
You just gotta love Ignoramouses who make assumptions/label people based on one post.
If there is a 1-10 scale of "wokeness" ..... 1 being not woke, 10 being very woke, I'm a minus 100.
I stand by my statement. Hunter has an arrogance problem. I can't wait until someone takes him down a notch.
Matthes/Thomas/Weege addresses Hunters part in the presser. ...and the media gag order from the previous week. Good listen.

We call that tall poppy syndrome, Mr Magoo
Man, you idiots sure have cemented my hate for the word woke. I cringe when I hear it in any context.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing how Deegan makes you man-children cry next.
It's David Izer.... I'm surprised he wasn't making poop jokes in the same sentence
I had to look that one up....
Tall poppy syndrome is an informal term used to describe the behaviour of individuals who have achieved notable public success but who persist in frequently and excessively praising their own success and opinions.[1] Intense scrutiny and criticism of such a person is termed as "Cutting down the tall poppy". Successful individuals who do not excessively praise their own actions and opinions, may not be regarded as tall poppies. These other individuals could be considered targets of harassment or confused with imposter syndrome.
In Australia and New Zealand, "cutting down the tall poppy" is sometimes used by business entrepreneurs to describe those who deliberately criticise other people for their success and achievements.[1][2][3] It has been described as being the by-product of the Australian and New Zealand cultural value of egalitarianism.[1][4]
In Japan, a similar common expression is "the nail that sticks up gets hammered down".[5][6][7] In the Netherlands, this expression is "don't put your head above ground level" (boven het maaiveld uitsteken), with the cultural phenomenon being named Maaiveldcultuur.
In Chile, this expression is known as "chaquetear" ('pull the jacket').[8] In Scandinavia, this expression is known as Law of Jante. The Law of Jante comes with "rules" such as "you're not to think you are anything special".
It’s not just Jordan it’s the whole weak field. Only 1 fast guy that everyone knows is going to win. A 97 12th place rider Could be on the podium this yr.
You missed the point, he’s referring to people not paying by the deadline because they missed it, not because they couldn’t afford it.
people can write what they want about him and other riders, calling them names and casting aspersions about their personalities and you lose your mind because he made reference to a phone bill…
Pit Row
I kind of think they missed the point of what Hunter was saying. I doubt he even paid that much attention to the Smith v Deegan incident. I think it had more to do white Izers questioning and he went straight to the comments on social media etc. I feel 1. He was sticking up for a kid who was getting hammered in the question and 2. Was probably referring to criticism they see of their riding on social media about being too aggressive or not aggressive enough
Hunter was mainly sticking up for himself: for his style of riding after all the crap sprayed in his direction for riding like a man who wants to win and cares little for hurt feelies..
He threw up a ring fence on that, and Haiden happened to be inside.
Also, Haiden is not immune to a Hunter hard pass.
Yet, somehow they have almost the exact same stats currently for the slack older brother?
Bigger problem with arrogance than you?
Please don't summon this guy back. It's been a nice few days without him here posting in every thread available.
I think he was put on the sidelines.
Best news I've heard in months
You might be correct ----- Eventually. I don't hate the kid, but there have been plenty of 17 years olds with a ton more maturity, so the "he's only 17" excuse only goes so far. His presser comments were idiotic at best.
In my opinion, he has a long way to go to dethrone JLaw. And don't forget Mike Alessi's rookie t-shirt campaign as well as standing on Tedesco's bike and T-boning Tickle. He was a clown show for many years.
