I just got done watching the Daytona Supercross from the Rolex Suites, and I gotta say, I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it. The food was mediocre, the lines for booze were long, and the track is so long and you’re so far above it that it is tough to see the numbers on the bikes. I’m sure it is a great place to watch the much larger cars racing. If you’re down trackside, you’ll have a great view of what is right in front of you, but that’s about it. I literally just came back inside our suite and watched the race on my phone. While Daytona Bike Week is something everyone should experience, I would never go out of my way or pay money to watch a Supercross at Daytona or any other Speedway track. Just sharing my personal experience.

Damn, well that’s good to know. I was contemplating flying out next year to watch it
Matthes said the same thing. Daytona sucks as a pleeb spectator.
Been there several times, it truly does. It was never designed for these races. There's a whole wide ass road race track between you and the dirt track.
Daytona is more for the spectacle and the fact that they allow fans on the track after the race. No other track can you actually get out there and put your feet in the ruts. My opinion on suites is it is just for the experience in any sporting event. They will never be the best seats. If you can get "Industry Seating" passes Daytona is the best track for that. Usually, Industry seating is behind the start line and has horrible sight lines. At Daytona you are on pit lane with as good of a view as you can get.

I enjoyed watching Daytona from the field but that was back when I had access to a good pass
I am not cool enough to watch from the Rolex suite.... my heart goes out to you Quadz
The bleachers track side looked like a Great spot to spectate. Why where they only 5% full ?
I agree. I went with my two kids (7 & 9), sat in section 345. Not the best seats there but they were still good, the closer to the finish line the better because you can see both sides fairly well. I don't think Daytona is worse than others from a viewing stand point, it just offers different options that stadiums can't offer and some of those aren't great for the whole race. I paid extra to take the kids trackside during practice, not only to get closer to the riders but also to experience being on the car track itself. Industry people might think otherwise, but as a fan I enjoy all of the additional quirks that Daytona offers. Between the beach, bike week events, the motorcycle demo's in front of the stadium, the teams pitting in the Nascar garage, the track side access, track access after the race, the giant podium celebration after the 450 race, etc. IMO, it's on another level if you plan to get the full experience and not just come for the night show.
That is the Industry seating area.
"....not only to get closer to the riders but also to experience being on the car track itself."
Very underrated aspect of the race. If you have never been on the banking at Daytona even the tri oval area is impressive.
Side note: Being that I have been on the Dig Dug crew at Daytona a few times I have had the opportunity to do track walk. A couple years ago I found myself right next to Ralph Sheheen who was looking down the NASCAR track and I just said to him: "You never really get used to how big this place is do you?" He just laughed and said no. Whatever you think of him, he does love racing and has been to thousands of tracks and is still impressed with Daytona.
Let me get out my tiny violin. Just kidding lol. I don't like sitting up high at any event personally. I'd rather be down closer to the action whether or not I can see the whole track. In the case of this race I think I would enjoy sitting on the tri oval banking and watching.
There too boring to sit there. Get the Rowdy Fans in the bleachers. The 250 race was on tv at 1am Sunday night. It looked weird with hardly anyone in the bleachers. And the ones there never got into it or stood up.
The track part is very true, I have gone maybe 10 times and every time I'm there I think how cool it is. I'm not a Nascar fan but I am looking at tickets for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 just to see what it's like.
Can't speak for Daytona but I enjoy Atlanta. Viewing is better than an outdoor national
I was in 352 and could see every single part of the track other than the corner where Webb and Tomac came together because the finish line pole blocked it. I’m young so maybe my eyes are better, but I don’t get all the bitching. It’s a bad ass facility to be at if you can appreciate the history and significance of it in motorsports.
Section 351 row 12, saw 90% of the track, could read the numbers. Like everythinh else in, you do it right or do it wrong, spending big dollars does not always make shit right. Only bummer was my fault watching cooper and eli, i missed the barcia and sexton battle. Had to watch the replay,
At least my YouTube TV found it and recorded it, unlike last year.
Ama Supercross is not the same as "supercross by honda"
I think you are going to be pretty impressed
Did you take any photos from the suites? Love to see them!
