Camp Coker. Outdoor track wouldn’t take much to get going and trails are there from the Gncc. I’m also a big sand guy and it has that.

One of the most picturesque race venues I’ve over been to. Property is huge and very beautiful. Not to mention service is spectacular.

Locally, Glen Helen for sure. Can do all kinds of different riding there between the main, vet, stadiumcross, and the hills (SRAGP).

For the picturesque, get away from it all type... probably Flying Iron Horse Ranch.

Steel city.

Jk.. kinda..

Red Bud 2000. maybe.

Monster mountain was first to the brain.. but there's some track south of there in the pines that looks dreamy..

Golden Pines in Prentiss, Ms.?   If so, MM is a better choice although GP is pretty fun.

Lake Whitney was very fun also. Had several different kinds of dirt there from what I remember.

Would have loved to spin a couple laps at Zaca before it closed.

Chaney ranch is a gorgeous area with some cool animals and a haunted house on the property.

I haven’t ridden many mx tracks, but Glen Helen has consistently been the most fun to ride/race for me

Kegums in Latvia: Peaceful, Next to a Lake and Nice country.

Maggoria in Italy: Beautiful Area, Not so far from Lake Como & Milan, Good tracks within driving distance.

Easy for me - Hangtown.

I'm 34 now - I grew up 15 min from Prairie City OHV Park where Hangtown is located. From 4 years old I would ride the kids tracks, my dad would take me on all the trails, he would put me on his old 1989 KX250 sitting in front of him and I would hold onto the crossbar to go on the adult track (not Hangtown) to show me how to corner, brake, clutch, etc.  Once I was getting a lot better and moved up to an 80 (1992 KX80) I finally got to go out on the big scary Hangtown track. Back then it was owned by the State Park so the conditions were terrible. They maybe groomed it once a week, watered once a day which flooded the track for an hour every time. It was pretty bad.

Then I believe around 1999 or so a guy by the name of Dave Matson took over control of the track making it private. He completely renovated the track it was amazing. I'll never forget the first day after it re-opened the dirt was groomed perfectly, watered just right, and the jumps were insane. Super crisp take-offs, huge doubles but nothing real crazy, even had a whoop section. Dave and my Dad kinda became friends and gave us more access than others.

This is where my main reason comes from. I remember going there at the crack of dawn, the way the dirt looked and smelled in the morning was pure bliss.  Dave would be on the tractor churning up the dirt and it amazed me how this track went from being destroyed to this beautiful work of art. The sun would peep over the hills making it look like a dream.  They also had Thursday night practice during Spring/Summer, it went from like 3pm until sunset.  One of my greatest memories ever is jumping the big downhill double during sunset, it looked like you were jumping off the edge of the earth into the sunset. I've actually told my wife that once I pass I want my ashes spread up on that hill where the jump was (and still is kinda there).  I also had maybe my best race ever there, crashing in the first turn and coming all the way back to make the pass for 1st with 3 turns remaining.

It's pure nostalgia for me especially since I haven't been able to ride in 22 years but I have so many great memories at that track and the entire park itself it's a no brainer decision for me.

I remember the old Hangtown track before the new ownership. That hard pack clay was no joke and I know exactly where that downhill double was. I wish someone would have taken over and done the same with Carnegie Cycle Park that you and your Dad's friend did with Prairie City. The dirt at Carnegie was as hard as the bricks that used to be made out there. But just like the nostalgia you had with Hangtown I had with Carnegie. The trails, multiple tracks, and the store Skip's at Carnegie. A Costco cheeseburger never tasted so good after a long day of riding. I always remember going there with my Dad on Christmas, before Thanksgiving dinner, and after a good rain when everything was tits. Also camping out with my friends, camping out with my GF the night before a race while her best friend was in the tent too 😏, and taking my Dad's brand new 02 YZ250 to race while he was out of town. Then also the memories of my son first learning to ride out there, riding the shit out of his #800 Crf 50 on the mini track until dark, or gassing his #199 Klx 110 repeatedly through the same puddle for 6 hours straight. Then telling him he had to explain to Grandpa why the bike was being weird when we got home. Grandpa obviously didn't give a shit because he loved the time they would spend cleaning and fixing it together...😔. I miss those days. But if I got to live at a track it would be Club Moto in Livermore. I spent a lot of time out there and it sounds weird, but that track was a place that I could go to and forget about any problems in my life. It got me through a lot of rough, dark places for which I'm forever grateful. Probably should of went to a therapist, but we weren't raised that way in Pittsburgh and riding got rid of the pain and anger in a more fun way. Plus the older guys there accepted my punk ass and would tell me to hangout after everyone left at 10 and then the group of us would ride until 11:30 or so under the lights. Then drink a few beers and smoke a couple bowls in one of the trailers. It was pretty cool to be accepted by the older "locals" I guess you would call them, even though it was because they liked my Humboldt weed, and my girlfriend and her friends lol. Either way I got to be part of the group who had the track to ourselves after everyone else had to leave. It was pretty cool part of my life that I will always cherish.

Carnegie used to have all kinds of awesome jumps before they started fencing everything off.

I really connected with Spring Creek MX. It flowed well, but they have long winters. I live in NW I am and fed up with snow and ice, so I'll have to say Monster Mountain. I have not been there, but heard nothing but good things!

Might have to be that Flying Iron Horse Ranch in Utah. Love me some mountain views and a nice creek running through the property. Skiing in the winter, some MTB riding nearby too. Ugh, I gotta get out of the Midwest...Dry

My local track Denmark is pretty good with the floater jumps off the hills in& out of the valleys. When it’s worked the dirt is really good but it’s not worked often. So it’s hard pack & rough with square holes, etc.  only 200 for the yr riding. Italians would Love it. Wisconsin Rapids is a hilly Deep sand track that goes threw the woods. With another easy sx track. A lot of Great trails threw the woods . A ama hill climb. Cheap 20 a day. I really want to just ride sand tracks. The gnarly hard pack beats you up so bad. And you can’t go all out. Set up camp at Millville & there’s a lot of sand tracks 1-2 hrs away. 1 of those tracks gives 4 bikes away. Fri night & the fair races would be Fun.

Unadilla.

Just discussing the possibility of coming back to do Rewind in 2023.

My daughter lives 10 mins from Hawkstone, and i would probably say there for the UK

For Europe, Namur.

Iron Horse in Coalville Utah...right outside Park City. Close to world class skiing and killer mtb trails in the summer, and you could still sneak a few winter track days in. Mammoth and Monster Mountain would be insane, but you couldn't ride at all during ski season.

Not sure I could do it year round, but can I get a vacation house at Fairleigh Castle?

Ever do amateur day ? It’s like you live there in a way. Thursday to Monday night a lot of fun you never want to leave. Millville has 2 days of racing along with Red Bud . Plus Red Bud has the night track.

I have no idea how long he owned it but the difference he made to it was incredible. Last I heard he had to let it go because of too much litigation issues, people trying to sue for injuries.

Club Moto in Livermore would actually be my 2nd choice. The track was awesome and the scenery absolutely beautiful. My Dad and I would go walk around the train tracks on the top of the hill when staying overnight for a race. The dirt was perfect with lots of elevation changes and had an uphill triple back then that was so much fun.  Interesting thing....we stayed overnight for a race just 1 week before my accident but it stormed so bad overnight they cancelled the race. I sometimes wonder if that didn't happen and maybe I had a minor injury or blew the engine from the mud that would have preventing me from arenacross the week after.  I think the track is in danger of closing down right now unfortunately.

Yes sadly it is, but to be honest I'm surprised it's still there. The houses keep getting built closer and closer. But I think the go cart track down the street and the model rc airplane landing strip are working as a good buffer for the time being. Yup the old uphill triple was a staple at that track. Did they have the AX and flat tracks the last time you were there? I feel you on the wondering if something happened differently and how it would have changed other things. Not just with your injury, but life in general, I've been down that hole with a few things and it can drive you insane. Just like that movie The Butterfly Effect.

I came across this on my timeline today. Look familiar?

But I am going with Sardinia. A mediterranean island with a MX track...sign me up.

Sardinia MX

If it is in the US. Mammoth if I am allowed to ride there more than the two weeks it is open currently.
