Cooper Webb Appreciation

He's never the fastest guy out there, we all know that. But I've never seen someone that does not look fast, always in it at the end. Mentally, he's incredibly strong. He really knows how to navigate the track at the end of mains when it breaks down, I feel that iis his greatest strength.

He was that guy on the 250’s, but he seemed to have made a concerted effort to change his style immediately upon entering the 450 class. I miss the old Webb from the 250 class (he was the fastest) but I guess his “manage a championship” approach is proving to work. To get into that mindset he sacrificed some of that raw speed imo, but it’s very much still in there.

Incredible ride, I think this championship is a 3 horse race! 2 more laps and he would have won

not sure why we all keep getting downvoted but webb is truly one of the weirdest riders ive ever seen. dude is visibly slower most of the time and somehow has... 20 sx wins and 2 championships. ridiculous. the fact that one more lap and he would have won tonight is ridiculous.

Look Webb is awesome at what he does, but do you guys really think he passes Tomic for the win if the race was longer? Serious question.

Racecraft, intellect and an incredible will to win, especially when he senses a weakness in someone ahead. No better authority than RC says it himself and I think he knows a thing or two. What does the opinion of any amateur on here matter.

Who knows but momentum was clearly on Webb’s side. Eli bobbled at least two times that final lap. My guess is that Eli would have looked big picture and Webb smelled blood in the water. Webb elevates his speed amazingly when a win is on the line.

He's got the infinite stamina cheat code. He was only 3 tenths off his personal best at the end of the race. Absolutely bonkers.

Awesome run by Webb!  Thinking a young Coop must have enjoyed some carnal knowledge with these down voter dip shit mothers!

I wish I was as slow and as terrible in the whoops as Webb. This way I'd be 2x 450SX champ.

LOL knew it wouldn’t take long for the Webb haters to arrive. He doesn’t care about outdoors anymore. It’s a common sentiment these days when Supercross is seen as the big show.

I don’t understand. There was all of that hate on Roczen for his incredible skill and seeming lack of fight. Webb’s a guy with incredible fight and is just as disliked.

A 3 horse race ? No way what a take, really going out on a limb there.

If the sun  had risen 2minutes earlier he would’ve lapped the entire field while smoking cigar

This is up there when Jett only wins by 5 seconds and every one gets on here saying the others  where catching him even though he’s proven time after time  he can just about start dead last and still win of he needs to.

They say it in the post race interviews, they save energy to push when needed and are cautious when the track is rough.

Win by 1 second or 10 makes no difference

I still remember that Mxgp race in Charlotte where he tracked down and passed Herlings. Webb has that special something that can't be taught.

Webb getting a top 3 on that track was a win for him. It was a gnarly track with 3 sets of whoops in a row. If ever there was a track meant to shut him down, this was it and he still almost won. Outside of Daytona, where ElI will win, Cooper has kept it to just a 7 point gap and he’s not even hit the tracks he traditionally succeeds on.

We have like 8-10 rounds coming up where he has done most of his damage.

Not really them whoops where going to turn to jumpers and with two sets gives web the advantage,

The best thing about Webb is he can win races even championships and people still say he got lucky or it's handed to him. You don't see hate like that for other riders so you know he's making a lot of people mad.

Tomac has won 66% of the races and has a 7 point lead.  Tomac is faster but Webb is more strategic (Webb might be the greatest of all times when it comes to race/title strategy.

The whoops were killing Webb tonight....absolutely killing him.

Webb was 13 seconds down at one point.  Sexton goes down again (shocker), but still gets up in 2nd....Coop catches him and passes him and was almost on Eli's fender in the last turn.    You bet your sweet ass I think Webb had Tomac with 1-2 more laps.

It's just simply unbelievable how good Cooper is when the track goes to shit at the end of the races.

It's pretty sad how people hate on one of the sports best.    You may not like him, but you cannot deny how freaking amazing he is.

Great ride from Webb but I see all the on Eli’s fender talk when Eli ran off the track which is why he caught him.  Maybe he would have passed Eli with another 1-2 laps or maybe Eli pulls back away.  You can’t give a oh for sure though based on Eli running off the track and costing himself 3-4 seconds.

Btw look how big a difference Aldon makes when you compare 2022 and 2023 for the best offseason ever guy of last year.

You lost me at "racecraft." When did this become a thing? Also let's add "Colourway" and "kit" to that list as well. Anyways I see your from Pittsburgh, I was born there and moving back soon. So props. With that said Webb is to Eli and Chase, like Reed was to Bubba and RC. He'll be close enough to capitalize on a mistake, but doesn't have the raw speed to run with them. But he plays his cards well, especially knowing Sexton will 6/10 times will throw it away why leading.
