Exactly.

It's very little known and Chad never leverages it.

Does anyone have any shots of it in action?

Man.. looking back at these comments shows the lack of world knowledge and education some people have. when you understand what the painting represents, you see it in a different aspect and art that you appreciate.

as an indigenous aboriginal myself, and doing these paintings in my spare time.

Amazing work to this artists.

shook that people hate this, but love the look of a monster logo

Yep and to think at the time, a lot of Stew fans were accusing Reed of being racist 🙄

Does being aboriginal, or any race,,,, automatically exclude a person from being racist? Not saying Chad is, btw.

That is a new one on me.  In all the years I have never heard any fan of any rider refer to Reed as being racist.

Agree on that, it absolutely does not 🤣 From moving around South Africa for a couple of years to the GF travelling round Indian countries and my old man going basically anywhere obscure across the world with work, it's interesting how blatantly and unashamedly racist a lot of people from all walks are.

Personally, I couldn't give a fuck if someone was Monster green although their doctor might.

Also, possibly the biggest thread bump I've ever seen? Damn...

Never saw him run this. Very very cool. Love the Australian Aboriginal flag motif on top with the traditional artwork all over.

Why would you be shook that people hate the artwork? Kinda snowflaky don't you think?

I wear a Celtic cross ring that celebrates my heritage. If you think it's ugly but respect my heritage it is only a matter of taste, no big deal. I can go to an art gallery and appreciate an artist's talent and the feeling and meaning behind their work but at the same time absolutely hate the piece because it's not my style.

Agree it certainly does not exclude someone from being racist, but generally a person from an indigenous race identifies with the struggles faced by another minority group.
The sentiment at the time was often comments like Reed doesn’t like Stew because he’s black. Which is obviously ridiculous because Reed is proud of his own aboriginal heritage.

There was a group on Facebook at the time where that sentiment was pushed regularly, as well as being brought up here in the past.

I'd just have to take your word for it and your the only one saying it.  I wouldn't be familiar with some FB page but to say it was brought up here in the past, I haven't seen anything of the such, ever.

Why and how is this something fans would "realize?" I don't recall Reed ever talking about his aboriginal heritage, at least not in the US where it's about as relevant as Elizabeth Warren's heritage is to an Australian.

wonder if we'll ever get to gene roddenberry's dream where people just are what they are and nobody cares and virtue points and victim hierarchy scales aren't a thing.

guessing it would require abolishing the shit stirrers in big media first idk

While I'm not sure about people saying Reed was a racist, a certain poster called me a racist solely due to me being a fan of Reed and not of Stewart (at the time the scales have probably tipped the other way now haha)

I was like aah you do realise Reed is an aboriginal right? He said it didn't count haha

I have no idea who the hell Elizabeth Warren is but Reed’s heritage wasn’t exactly a secret. He didn’t push it in people’s faces but he did lots of good things throughout his career with it. Even started IndigiCross here in Oz at one stage.

Reading this post spread over more than a decade, reminded me of how long it took to read international race results in Australian  magazines back in the day.

Thank fuck for modern Internet.

I have visited Kuranda Village,  the Barron Gorge, the blue mountains, the great barrier reef in Australia. The History and the culture of the  aboriginal heritage was very interesting and educational. I really enjoyed the time I spent in Port Douglas area much better than Sydney. The great barrier reef was very cool to see before the bleaching took place. The time I spent in Australia was fabulous. Their grass fed beef is much better than our chemical riddled beef. Best hamburgers I’ve ever had. The only negative thing I could say about Australia is that 17 hour plane ride.
Just like in Costa Rica, the packs of cigarettes have pictures of death all over them and extremely expensive.

Actually, when both AMCN and REVs where both still publishing, with their Bi-Weekly issues  staggered, we'd get results pretty bloody quickly.

I recall reading about Marty Tripes winning the Superbowl of MX, a couple of days after it. Same with pretty much all major MC events, with AMCN and REVs coverage.

Though, you might be a Young Un, and not even know of the existence of REVs,  that closed down, leaving AMCN as the only Bi-weekly Magazine - then we could have a bit of a gap in news.

Don't be shook....for one there is a broader context here regarding the people posting in this thread back then (Huck, Big Lenny) and some others, where those guys would go at it over racial stuff, most of it not as bad as you would think. It flowed over from MotoDrive, where there was a tradition of super-ragging on each other. That kind of set the tone for early Vital days. There was also general schoolyard-like general respect for each other. There was a segment of people that thought the racial justice thing was overplayed. WordNerd, or Steve Cox was also a central player in all that drama, which has been replaced with modern drama and different players. They didn't really take it all that seriously and were mostly baiting each other. It was a source of much amusement actually.
