Does anybody remember reading or hearing that the team KTM's got overhauls for this year versus last but team Husky and Gas/Gas are essentially the '22 KTM bikes from a team perspective?
In other words, is CC for the most part riding the bike that Webb hated last year with his bad results?
He told Lewis he’s going to start testing today, so hopefully that helps. Is it normal to start testing a month into the season? Seems like a bold strategy Cotton
a 10-12 guy that stays healthy is a 5-6 guy at the end of the season.

He’s on a new bike, in a new class, with a field of riders as stacked as any year I can remember. He’s had 3 races on a new bike, in a new series.. and he’s running just outside the top 10. I think he’s going to be fine. He’ll find his groove and be a solid guy.
Hard Disagree here. Look at Tomac, Anderson, Barcia, Malcolm. All these guys are over 30 and you could argue that they've never been better.
I'm not saying that Craig should be running with them AT ALL. Honestly, during the race I was a little disappointed when I saw him in 12th again. But then I looked at who was in front of him. If someone asked me if he was better than any of those guys, I would say no. so maybe he is just a 10-12 guy. But all that means is that the top 12 guys are FAST AF.
There's only 13 factory riders this year, this is not stacked. And, of the factory riders that lined up every weekend, he's last in pts of all of them. In A2 Nichols was the only factory rider he beat. This is not a good start.
This is a byproduct of the bakers factory. I've seen it mentioned before, they don't really have you do any midweek testing, just motos and fitness training. One of the assumed reasons that Webb struggled so much last year with the new bike
I don't think he gels as well with the Austrian bike as he did the Yamaha. He was a consistent Top 5 guy in the 450 class outdoors with STAR, he will not be a Top 5 guy on the Husky outdoors this year. Maybe I am wrong but only time will tell.
Some bikes/teams fit certain people better......
If you're not getting thumbs down, you're doing something wrong. They're badges of honor.
Unsure whether to give thumbs up or down on this post.
Pretty good read and confirms a lot of what some of us are thinking...
He started up front on the yamaha a lot. He’s one the best starters in the class. Something tells me he doesn’t wanna start up front and go backwards
Most people wouldn't have listened to the interviews I did with Pauls Jonass last season...
Talking to Christian made me chuckle though, as I could imagine Pauls nodding his head.
Don't track conditions make 450 racing pretty different from 250 racing? Different bike, different team, different trainer, he also moved.....
And one privateer
Yes, possibility of higher depending on others. Might be harsh but who do you think he should be beating??
True, Enzo Lopes would have qualified 6th in the 450’s this past weekend with his 58.8 qualifying time. But we all know that wouldn’t mean shit in the main events. With over 15 champs in the field, the race craft and mental fortitude required to make it into the top 10 is higher than ever. Lap times don’t mean shit when the gate drops. Chad Reed & Cooper Webb are good examples of that.
Pit Row
You know what this sounds like? ADVERSITY!
I demand a special segment on this week’s TV show.
I wonder if going to the BF didn't destroy his confidence. Maybe getting dropped by everyone on the bike rides was a bad thing. Or, everyone is right and he would have better results on the Suzuki...
I’m lookin to see how he does in the “East” when the tracks are truly indoors and not so rutted.
I’m a patient old dude that’s seen the toll this sport has already taken on the kid’s body. So, the way I see it? I got Noooooo Problem with him taking his time to settle into the Big Boy class.
Kid? Christian is 31 and “time” is a commodity he is lacking. Just because he cherry-picked the regional class for a decade doesn’t make him a kid. The time to step it up is now. I don’t think anyone doubts that he has the talent.
Well, I’m 60. Still ride. Still race. Still win. Still love this sport and all those that hang it out on Saturday-night and throw it down at a level most of us will never understand; So, Christian will ALWAYS be that “Blonde kid on a bmx bike” to me. Got it?
I was around to see the HUGE post-crash surgical scar on the kid…years ago. I was there when he raced for Troy…even watched him “retire” & then come back simply because he was crushing it on his father-in-law’s “team” bikes…for shits and giggles…during the week…while working a construction gig…if you recall?
Now, I see a young dude with an absolutely BEAUTIFUL young family and the kindest & gentlest demeanor from him, his adorable wife and sweet family and all those around him at the races and around the paddock…so, you’ll have to forgive me if I’m a patient man that knows good people when he sees them: Craig Gen II is EXACTLY what our sport needs. If we’re really, really lucky? We WILL have a Craig Gen III…that’s already smiling like mom-n-dad & shedding knobbies on Stacycs.
I’m jus’ lovin’ all of it.
Manny
The biggest question is would you rather see him in the lites class again?
To see him in this area really isn’t a disappointment. Kinda where I expected with the guys he’s up against, maybe 5-10 as the series goes on. And he’s already showed flashes outdoors so maybe he will meet your expectations there.
I get it. I don’t know him personally, so I’m not as attached as you are. I watched his vlog today for the first time, and I do have one observation, even though it might cost him “likes” or “views”. If I was struggling on the job, I damn sure wouldn’t bring my kids with me to work. It might be a good idea for him to dedicate 100% of the limited time he has with his crew in the pits between practice, qualifying, and racing to work on improving his bike and his focus on the task at hand. I used to spend a fair amount of time in the pits, and I don’t recall any past champions bringing their kids to work until they were already in the twilight of their career and had accomplished everything they set out to do. YouTube will be there when he is done. Ask Cole Seely.
Kids in the pits, etc…that’s a problem? Ok. Be sure to run that by Eli. Or Kenny. Or Barcia. Etc., etc., etc. …
Eli is at the pinnacle of the sport and was there prior to bringing kids to the track. He was serious as a heart attack on his way there. His mom and dad were there to prevent distractions from entering his world while he refined his craft. Kenny and Bam Bam are incredibly fast and talented, but I would put both of them in the “twilight” category. Both of them are over the hump career-wise. It will be interesting to see how Jett does handling all the distractions he will be navigating over the next couple of years.
After Christian has his program refined to the point of winning a national championship or two, he has every right to run his program as he sees fit since he will know what it takes to get there. Vlog away.
how long is his contract with Husky?
2 years.
did he end up jumping rhe whoops?
