Outdated dinosaur.... my ass!

Congrats to Kenny!   Moving up every week.     This on a non-factory "outdated" bike.

I just wish he didn't thank himself.   wtf.

I was afraid that would come back to him but here’s my humble translation for what he meant when he said that:

from my perspective he’s caught a lot of flack, and not because he deserved it, but just because, whether because of the bike, his hair cut, his IG photos, just general things.

the choice to leave Honda and then go to Suzuki in the 11th hour took a maverick mentality. that came under a lot of scrutiny, and all the social media comments in the wake of that.

I think he’s just saying, I don’t need to count on all these people for validation. He is his own validation.

by thanking himself, he was just making a point and I kinda get it.

He deserves to thank himself. All of them do. They put in the hard work all week.

All the congratulations in the world! This is great! Nobody, Nobody, thought you could podium! What great luck! Everyone is so thrilled with third, it's as good as a championship! Good job little buddy!

I thought it was a little funny when he thanked himself.  Probably an inside joke to his close friends and team.  Everyone has a trainer they thank so it could have been a little jab.  Kinda like the pizza thing.  Maybe I’m  way off.

One can't truly love others till they love themselves. And I'm not kidding. As Bobby Hannah.

And... did you see that move where Ken held off Eli by jumping into the woops on that right hander. That was awesome! What a line... what a move! Fantastic. Very ball worthy.

For the lack of help Suzuki really gives them, I don’t think they deserve congratulations. The HEP boys sure do though.

There is an interesting thing to note about this whole thing; Ken got a better setup from the aftermarket vs the factories. Note his firepower honda with the FC suspension  and how he did in the off season. As well as his comments after those races. And now.... FC suspension setup on a non factory bike. Twisted Development motor. The option to test/ look at KYB components...

The point is the aftermarket is .... or about to be (were right on the cusp)... moving quicker and more efficiently then the companies that build the bikes.

Also note Eli to Star Racing. And the "open ness" to trying different setups at Star vs factory programs.

This is EXACTLY the kinda stuff that build Silicon Valley; The up starts vs the New York Stock Exchange old school methods.

The faster, innovative and less political options.... It moves faster and wins. Lets see how this goes!

Super proud of what Kenny has achieved so far this year, I hope there’s a lot more to come!
His speed looks like it’s there, and his fitness looks like it’s holding up as well! A nice steady progression of results!! He definitely seems happy on the bike and with the program. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season!!

I can vouch for this book, if you’re mechanically minded at all it will fascinate you. If the only time you touch a tool is to swap oil and change an air filter, it will probably bore the piss out of you.

Not at all. This man is a former world/national champ. He should podium, I am certain he expects it. I am mocking people who say it is an achievement for him to podium, it is patronizing. Of course he had had heinous injuries, but his history dictates battling for championships. Hell, Malcolm is disappointed with third, had he ever won a world championship?

It absolutely is an achievement for him to podium.  Go ask Webb or Tomac when they don't win, they still look at it as an achievement. In another thread you bashed Kenny for getting 5th and then said "that's not what I said" when I called you out for expecting he'd only be happy with wins.  So what is it? Only wins are good or is 2nd/3rd place ok?  You seem to be confusing yourself.

Looks like Factory Connection knows what they are doing.  I am pumped they came on board. His new setup looks to be more balanced and not so tall in the rear.

I have criticized HEP in the past pointing out that their suspension setup looks awful and is holding them back.  When Nolleen was doing the work their bikes looked absolutely atrocious in the bumps!

did anyone notice how pissed webb must have been after race 2? roczen was trying to give him a thumps up for the fight they had...

I personally think for ken the Suzuki is a release- hes not under that much pressure anymore and he s showing he still has it- when was the last time he did defend his position to webb or tomac like he did this weekend???

Hopefully there is more to come!

I don't think Webb saw him at first and likely acknowledged after the camera cut away.

You know, I see your point. I stand corrected. Third is great for Tomac too.

Agreed.  Webb isn't one to act like that from what I've seen.    He looked like he was just spent from the last push to catch KR.... and I don't mean "spent" in a bad way as we all know Coop can run hard up to the last second.
