Sexton raced in his polka dot pajamas at San Diego and the new Moose stuff in the MXA Mid Week report has neon colors for a throw back to the 90s. Ugggh! Give me some Hallman GP goatskin leathers, Jofa shoulder pads and you can have most of the gear today.
Who do you think has the best looking gear at the moment?
The Sexton Jordan gear was rad. Other than that I don't think any of it looks that terrible, but almost all of them need to get the next size up jersey.
All of the stuff Sexton has been wearing has been awesome. I also really like the FXR stuff. TLDs new stuff is cool. Everything else is ok but kind of whatever.
AC, Anderson, Roczen always have top notch gear.
I really like all the gear out right now. FLY limited edition looks really good, I wish more of their normal stuff had that look.

Agreed, for the most part.
I'm boring and try not to draw any attention with my complete lack of bike skill, so I just get whatever's black, maybe with some grey or white or a little splash of colour.
I do like some of the Hallman stuff from Thor.
Jett’s blue gear looked awesome in San Diego.
I like the fit and material being used now, I really like some of the designs coming from TLD, Alpinestars and Fasthouse having some color but nothing too busy on the design.
Also, I think these https://www.fasthouse.com/products/motorall-white from Fasthouse are pretty sweet if you do any type of woods or adventure riding.
Have you tried athletic fit yet?
I used to not be a fan until I wore it. It’s 10000x better than the loose, baggy gear from the past.
I hate the fit of modern gear...way to tight. I don't wear those for the same reason I don't wear skinny jeans...
Though I do appreciate the way-to-far-out-there designs of about a decade or so ago seem to have passed...I don't miss those at all.
FASTHOUSE for the win , best looking gear on the planet.
O’Neal has the best looking stuff that consumers can actually buy. Alpinestars consumer stuff looks good too.
I really like the FXR gear I've seen. I've owned some and it's been great quality too,
The Alpinestars gear...at least the custom kits that guys like Sexton & Lawrence are wearing currently look great, IMO. I remember how fugly they were back when Barcia was under contract with them, and was said to be doing his own designing! Ugh! Good thing he sticks to riding anymore.
I generally like the Fox stuff Roczen & AC are wearing, Musquins O'Neal gear...and the Troy Lee gear looks pretty good too.
The custom stuff by Astars is pretty cool. I was disappointed to see Tomac wearing the same gear at A1 as Redbud MXoN, though.
Those are f$%&ing RAD. Take my money!
Latest offering from Thor.
You seem fun at parties

Oh shut up. We are in the golden age of gear performance and the designs are great. Alpinestars makes basic and edgier designs. Sextons gear looks like Italian terrazzo stones to me. I own a set. The front and back are mesh and vent insanely well, and the arms are compression. It feels great on.
My 23 Just1 gear is perfect.
I can't hate because the problem is my own. Need to lose some serious lbs. I like a lot of what FXR has going on.
For people who like clean looking gear that Just1 stuff is perfect.
personally I like the more flamboyant stuff. Astars, Fox and FXR are putting out some really nice stuff imo.
Fly is almost these but they always miss the mark by a hair from me I’m not sure what it is.
I’ve been looking for some nice black and yellow (not flo) gear for ages now and no one seems to do yellow anymore???
Thor is doing a grey and yellow kit that I dig. It is on the pulse line.
I am just happy it doesn't have an animal on it. In comparison to some of the stuff Thor has released in the last few years, this is not that bad. Reminds me of the 2010 kits they had.
How durable is the new Astars Supertech? I saw they said it won't snag which hopefully means tears won't run like last years back panel material.
Try TLD’s Scout off-road pants. I originally got them for The Rip and then wore them in the Eastern Sierras & down into the Dez…then on my ADV…
They’re a looser fit and have zippered front and back vents that open-close and…pockets!
I’ve ridden in 110 degree dez heat and then up to 10,000’ cold snow all in the same day. That’s where these pants really shine (from Hawthorne Nevada to above Virginia Lakes California/July 2021).
I thought you were overreacting (like the typical vital complaint thread about nothing), but you got a point. Damn, this stuff is hideous.
And while we're complaining, what happened to the functionality to link to a web image?
I havent tried the Supertech, but I have a few sets of Techstar and I really like it.
I ran a single set of supertech almost all of last year, with some tree branch run ins, and it still looks brand new.
Those "way-to-far-out-there designs of about a decade or so ago" are by far my favourite era of mx gear. I honestly love them so much and wish those designs would come back into style. I know this is a very unpopular opinion here but they're just so good. I mean I'm riding motocross, not attending a business meeting. Throw some zany colours and choatic designs on the gear. And bring back No Fear too.
Anyway the closest thing to those designs at the moment I would say is this Leatt gear, I would probably buy it if they didn't have this stupid idea of having to purchase it as a set rather than jersey and pants seperately, which means I'd have to buy 2 sets since I'm a different size in pants and jersey.
