Also, downward spiral? Seems he's been pretty consistently himself to me. He's always been pretty outspoken. He will always have haters who think he needs to hang it up over 4th place.
Since Roczen has been 16 he has been employed to win, his standard of pay dictates that. Nobody has hired him to get 4th or 5th. He is not paid like a 4th or 5th place rider. Nobody has hired him to "do the best you can, we need more testing, or we understand your past injuries." His placings are commendable considering the circumstances, but it is not what is expected of him. I would be certain he isn't expecting 4th or 5th is great either.
On the contrary, I think Suzuki and his team are quite happy with top 5 finishes.

A lot of factory guys would kill for 4th rn. He’ll be top 5 in points and probably snag a win or two with some podiums by the end of the season. Plenty of factory riders haven’t even win throughout their career. Don’t understand the criticism of ken. He probably isn’t 100% after his injuries, and he’s probably more frustrated with that than any other keyboard warrior.

He may have read the post, but he clearly hasn't been paying attention to the sport or Kenny the last few years, if he thinks he'll have "a win or two with some podiums by THE END OF THE SEASON"
If history is any indication, the results Kenny is getting right now are the best results he'll get all year.
The fact he's on a brand new to him bike might be helping his results, as he hasn't had the chance to go down a huge testing rabbit hole. Just listen to the guys who'd KNOW...RC has said he was incredibly difficult to work with on the testing side, and clearly it's more of the same now. He's changed suspension brands already.
As much as I talk crap about Kenny, I don't want to see him not do well on the track. I'm definitely not a fan anymore due to his weirdo interviews and social media BS, but I absolutely respect his talent and drive and hope he breaks the pattern this year.
My entire point is I don't see how mentally he CAN break that pattern if he's already clearly uncomfortable with the bike and is so triggered by a random dude on Instagram. Not a sign things are changing for the better.
