In my opinion. I think he wins 7-10 races. I think Anderson and Webb will win a couple each. I also think this is the year Mookie gets one
I don't know 1 person NOT rooting for Malcolm to get his first win. He should be able to get a couple. Just needs to stay off the ground.
would take the stars to align to go undefeated. One early tip-over could undo it for him. Leading, crashing, and then re-passing everyone certainly tells me it's possible. will be fun to watch.
I'd worry that he'd lock up the title early, and then mail in the next few races but his desire to go undefeated might change things. we'll see.
I remember these threads every year from 2006-2010 about James

I don’t think anyone will ever go undefeated in SX. Certainly not Tomac this year. MC ‘96 is the closest anyone will ever get.
Agree 1000 percent. Thread title reminds me of the silly James Stewart will win all the SX races this season threads we used to endure but the question mark gets the OP as pass in my book. :-)
That's the problem..... you can just count on him going down. Man, his speed was insane Sat night....but sure enough, he takes himself out.
Yes exactly. haha. That's why I had to make it.
I thought I'd be in the minority by voting <10, but apparently most of us agree. (I think that number could easily be 9, though!) I don't think anyone will dominate Supercross enough to go undefeated. If MC couldn't get it done, nobody in this day and age can. There's too much talent.
I dont think so, too many factors in SX which leads to crashes and issues can occur quickly. But I will say this, Eli wont get beaten straight up - if hes up front no one will pass him and win. Thats what Im thinking.
In all the years of Supercross (gotta be close to 50) how many have ever won every single SX ?
And How many have won the 1st 2 rounds and did not win the championship?
Odds are extremely low
Undefeated is a tall order...I think he can win half the SX races though! As long as he stays healthy, I don't see anyone beating him straight up this year.
Roczen 2017...
DV 02, and Yogi in like 98, 99 right?
We're seeing the best, consistently fastest Eli Tomac ever...but he won't win them all.
But, I believe he'll be the 2023 SX champion again when the smoke clears.
Now that you bring it up. When is the last time anyone won the first 4-5 rounds to start the SX season?
Stew in 07 won the first 3.
Gotta be MC as the last in 96
I think this is a silly poll
nobody has ever gone undefeated in SX and it will probably never happen.
I think a better question may be can ET3 keep the Red plate all season
Pit Row
People also thought nobody could go 24/24 in outdoors. Then it happened. I don’t personally think it will happen but tomac on that bike having fun is the best chance.
I think Tomac will be 2023 SX champion, and I think he will end up #2 all time in SX wins by the end of this season.
Tomac has a good chance to get 3 championships in a row on the 450. SX and MX combined. Hasn’t been done since Villopoto did it. 13 SX, 13 MX, 14 SX. Extremely hard to do.
2nd in all time wins is the big one we are all watching. Assuming this is his last year, which is hard to believe based on how he’s riding, to end it with 51 or more wins and 3 championships would be an okay SX career I guess.
I like his title chances obviously after two very strong rides but he’s going to give wins up to Webb, Sexton, and Anderson at some point. If Dylan could buy a start he may win as well. His pace late looks very strong.
Nope. There will be nights when he will settle for a top 5 or whatever. He is too smart to risk putting a possible championship in jeopardy by trying to win at all costs.
Odds are stacked against ET going 17 and 0, but with the way he is riding 10+ is a real possibility. I think he had 9 wins in 17 and that was with a slow start, some odd things happening (brake failure, pants...). He should have won Vegas, but tried to bunch them up. So he really should have had 10+ wins in 17 and how much better of a rider is he now? I'm thinking he gets 11 or more this year.
Being s full second faster then anyone else in the main, on a pretty basic and well maintained track is amazing. Specially when you don't have the holehot and clear track from start.
Anderson, Sexton and Mookie has all shown in two races why they are not really championship contenders (unless something drastic happens to Tomac and Webb).
So 10+ should be possible. 17, way to much luck on starts and other things involved.
Actually, Dungey was last guy for 3 in a row. SX 15, MX 15, SX 16
He should win at least 7 races provided he doesn’t get hurt. The rest of the wins will be Webb with one Anderson win.
When there are 5 or more potential winners it makes for a great season and consistency wins the championship….. until injuries start dropping those numbers.
tweaking the bikes every a little bit helps get the riders the trust/confidence to go just a fraction of a second faster and stirs up the standings.
2 rounds and looking on the points list I can see close to 10 potential winners. I think Plessenger has the potential to win one too.

There are only two real SX championship contenders right now: Tomac & Webb.
Tomak and Jett are just so comfortable the first 2 rounds. And the rest seem to be in I gotta catch up mode. Doesn't even look like either has been challenged yet. Who knows maybe the change in dirt when they go east? Will it be over by then? We have been on sloppy dirt so far. Can Chase step up? He seems to be the one that can challenge ET.
