Have the stock Suzuki clamps changed since Ken's RCH days? I think he ran them during his amazing 2016 season.

Why change if he likes how the Zuke turns & feels?  I ran the stock clamps on my RMZ450 too. 🤷🏻

Looks like that bikes got production suspension on it, probably just a bike for display.

He’s definitely running stock clamps. The RMZ clamps have been the choice of several guys over the years.
His race bike has OEM on it 100%

Just to make it a roller. They were awaiting his race suspension.

Do you know who is providing suspension for Ken?

To Me, it looked like it needed some fine tuning at the first round.

The stock clamps had the best feel and performance out of a few that we tested. It’s what I thought was the best and then the other guys tried them as well and went with them too.

Does this team even have a race shop? Do they have a practice track? Serious question, not trying to pick on them, just curious.

Your pic shows the difference in casting seam and how far down the bottom clamps go. The team appears to be using stock 250 clamps, which logic would lead us to believe allow for more flex than the 450 stuff.

Haha too excited to sleep. Really I’m on east coast time so I was trying to keep myself awake to adjust on time so I’m not falling asleep on race night lol

Yep had a crazy and busy last couple weeks between getting sick twice in two weeks, my wife getting a blood clot and in the hospital for 12 days, then home and then right back to give birth to our third little girl. But that’s life. And life happens when you’re the old guy out there and still racing haha. But I’m loving it

No problem. I try to pop in here and see what’s up often and add some insight when I can. And thank you! We’re excited for her to be here.

I’m not sure why these posts get made, lol. Star Yamaha has multiple guys who run stock clamps on their bike as well. Seen multiple other guys on satellite/factory teams in the past choose to do so as well. It’s all about rider comfort.

Ya, I thought it was interesting that they were different but not by much at all.  On the top clamps, the 450 is like .005" taller and on the bottom clamps the 450 is like .020" taller.

For those wondering, 450 on the left, 250 on the right.

Kenny didn't look very good last night ...yea he got 4th but he looked way out of sync. Clanking rhythms again, no real aggressiveness on the bike ..scrubbing etc. And the one thing I kept noticing is how MUCH he kept dabbing his foot down in literally EVERY turn which is so unlike him. The rear wheel was sliding around in corners like he wasn't getting any traction

So only because you know that, you expect everyone else knows it? What do you think, what you dont know and for a lot of people is self explanatory? lol. You will be surprised with your attitude. Laughing

Yeah I thought I'd see Kenny turning down under Barcia in a couple of those corners but maybe he didn't want to risk laying it down and give up a top 5. That Suzuki was always known to cut under pretty much any other bike in the sharp corners.
