When April 15th rolls around I often think of Alexader, Julius Caeser, or Ghengis Khan's armies rolling through a civilization looting and pillaging but only from the productive, industrious, and employable. Leaving the unproductive unscathed. In the grand scheme and generalized this is what our government does. Long term, what are the effects of this? If sin taxes diminish the use of tobacco products, alcohol and the like, what does property taxes, income taxes, and sales taxes do? If income is a manifestation of labor, what is taxation at it's root? If someone like Trump is not spending money on taxes, does his money just sit in a Scrooge McDuck vault for him to roll around in nightly, or is he using it to promote commerce?

It's people like you that make me wonder how you'd feel if someone kept coming into your place of work, stand up on your desk, and take a steaming pile of you know what on it...Then come back a few days later wearing a half-ass costume...and doing it again and again.

What a waste of my time and life.

You want to censor news not to your liking? This is pretty big if found to be fraudulent during his sitting years especially.

Why don’t we go back and get Jimmy Carter’s tax returns or Herbert Hoover’s, or Ronald Reagan’s, stupid as-? You know why not, because it’s in the past! Maybe we should go back and try to argue all the wrong NFL referee calls in all the past super bowls. Or do petition/thread on how to reverse Angel Hernandez’s bad calls in baseball. Why not? Because no one cares; it’s over. Move on!

Traditionally, presidents of the United States make their tax returns a matter of financial disclosure and public record. However, the practice of releasing returns as president or when running for office didn't become commonplace until the late 1960's. In the run-up to the 1968 presidential election, Republican candidate George Romney (the governor of Michigan at the time) released 12 years of his returns covering the period from 1955-1966. This set the precedent for future presidential candidates to release their tax returns. Almost every president since Richard Nixon has made their tax returns public; the only exceptions are Donald Trump and Gerald Ford.

Obama always released his tax returns and the income that led to his net worth is pretty well documented. If you were actually ‘interested’ it wouldn’t take much effort to research. I think ‘interested’ really means just desiring to imply wrongdoing due to partisanship, and counting on people being too lazy to actually think.

Ah yes the classic book deals that sell tens of millions of copies and the exorbitant speaking fees that they charge for speeches that nobody has any record of. Do you really think Biden wrote a book five or six years ago? He can barely read a teleprompter.

I'm much more interested to see the tax returns of people who's net worth has grown exponentially since being elected. What was Obama worth when he ran? Now he has a 20 million dollar mansion right on the coast, after they said the sea levels were going to rise and kill us all. Whatever.

Like many things current political campaigns release I would doubt it's trustworthiness. Not saying it would not be factual, but history states there is reason to doubt it.

I read through the article. He made 400k to give one speech, call me a crazy conspiracy theorist, but how easy would it be for somebody to get a powerful politician to pass a law that they would benefit hugely from and then just to pay that same politician for some speeches afterwards as payback. (Cough, cough, the ACA)

If it is so great being "rich", and the "rich" have so many advantages over "regular" people, then wouldn't logic dictate that becoming "rich" would/should be a goal? If your child became wealthy, would you be ashamed? I really don't understand how the rich are one of the few groups left in this country that we are welcome to discriminate against and make wild generalizations about. If I work my whole life to run marathons, achieve a doctorate degree, build my family's dream house, etc. I can openly be proud. But if you work to become wealthy, for some reason this is something to be ashamed of? Of all the people in this country, blasting Trump, Musk, Bezos, and the like, for being rich, not doing their share, all that bravo sierra, are these people consciously avoiding the accumulation of wealth for altruistic reasons or is it simply jealousy?

I hate to dip my toes in this hot tub of sulfuric acid but I’m curious how y’all feel about Trump lying to the American people about his Chinese bank account? Of course, none of this would have been proven without the tax returns being released.

Trump isn’t the same as Musk and Bezos. Trump inherited a fortune from his dad and has had every advantage since birth. The same can’t be said for Musk, Bezos, Cuban, Buffett, Gates and others.

Otherwise, i completely agree with your statement.

Sorry it is not illegal to have foreign bank accounts is it? Or foreign investments?  Meanwhile,  more than likely if you have a retirement account, you yourself have foreign investments. Are people really that dumb, Are these private accounts? are they corporate accounts?  Did any of these banks file suspicious activity reports like the Biden banks did? How about we start there on Jan 3rd?

I never asked if it was legal or not. I’d definitely prefer a sitting president not have accounts or business dealings with foreign countries while being president but that’s just my opinion.

My question is, how do you feel knowing Trump created a 60 second lie about the account during the debate? This lie wasn’t an, oh i forgot about it…. He stated false dates as if they were facts. Does integrity, honesty and ethics matter?

I take that as a, no, you don’t mind being lied too? I really don’t care, just curious how people stand by him and his nonstop falsehoods.

For what it’s worth, I’m not a fan of either and hope neither run in 2024. I grew up a big Trump fan and read every book but as I matured and learnt more about him in the late 2000’s, I figured out the fraud he is. His business success to failure rate only works if you’re mega wealthy to begin with and not fully leveraged in the business. That’s a luxury most startup business entrepreneurs don’t get to enjoy.
