That’s pretty phenomenal. Pretty attractive option after my 2.8 dmax is done. Can you step onto the tailgate without a stool when loading a bike?

Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid. On our very first tank of gas we got 552 miles. Better than my Chevy Cruze!

Been seeing a lot of these around lately. Hyundai Santa Cruz. Reminds me of the old Subaru Brats. Dunno how well a bike would fit. Possible with the tailgate down.

here's mine. 2022 Ford Maverick XL, 2.0L 4cyl turbo w/8 speed automatic. 250 HP, AWD, IRS. Added a 4k towing package too. Took 11 months to receive after ordering, but totally worth it. $26k OTD.

Due to their size they consume a lot of fuel?

For one, they always consumed less than a full size truck. And two, all midsize and mini trucks are great on gas today. The Maverick hybrid is basically the same as driving a compact sedan.

this isn’t the days of 6 cylinder engine with 4 speed trannies.

Looks iffy.

Small wheel KLX overall length is 71.4". Diagonal across with tailgate down takes very nearly full length

Full size bike is about 86"

Awesome set up here. 42 mpg is like what my wife’s hybrid Ford fusion gets. I get 20 in my new Ranger; 42 would be huge considering how far I have to drive to get to a track.

Bought this 2019 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 a couple of months ago. First truck I’ve owned in years…and I dig it! Now…if I wasn’t so damned old, I’d have a nice dirt bike in the bed!

I love my Maverick! Bed is small, but fits my YZ125 and our CRF125 with tailgate down. Not a lot of room left for gear. I think you could fit two larger bikes but it’s tight, and you’ll need the back seats for gear.

Here’s a shot showing the 125 only. It fits on the ‘gate straight in.

Absolutely awesome truck. Guarantee those make a comeback in the way of people restoring them.

Traded my ‘11 F150 4x4 in on this 2wd Taco. My F150 was a pig on fuel, and a royal pain in the ass to load bikes with it being so high. This will be way better on fuel and easier to load bikes. Spring can’t come soon enough.

The Jeep Comanche had a just right sized, tailgate up with bikes onboard bed. And it could run decent sized wheels and tires without a lift so loading was easy. This one was my all time most favorite moto truck.

1977 Datsun long bed. Brand new with my 1976 RM250. A side sunset mural, 240Z hubcaps and an orange bubble rear window. What more do you want. Life was good.

HA! Out running a few last minute errands on Christmas Even I saw a beautiful (older) Ranger pickup and I thought, too bad I don't have one of those for getting to and from the races anymore! After getting home I went to Ford's website and looked at the new ones. I spent tens of thousands of miles and countless hours in my Isuzu pickup racing as a younger man and damn, things were so much simpler then. Now with the toy hauler, F350 and multiple bikes its more work than fun.

Maybe I should buy that Ranger...

Man, I tend to agree.  I had a fully built out Sprinter Van and then a 16 foot finished enclosed trailer.  Both were great, but now I just have my GMC Canyon and other than bikes (Mountain Bikes) not inside the simplicity is great.  Less to clean, maintain etc etc.

22 Honda Ridgeline. Great engine. Great transmission. 21 mpg combined. Super comfy inside. Every safety feature you can imagine. Two bikes and all gear, tools, gas, stands etc. Very very cool and large trunk under the bed. 2 way opening tailgate is super handy.

We have been pretty happy with our maverick so far. Average over 30mpg from the 2.0 AWD 4k tow package. Does the job and we have a F150 for the larger trips.

I like our Maverick so much I ordered an XL (Hybrid) in Cactus Gray. That looks pretty sweet with the moto gate, I may need to pick up one of those as well.

Those things look like they were built at Kmart. Sounds like people are happy with 'em though. Maybe they'd look better with some custom wheels and tires.

Got a ‘17. Though I’ve got a Moto-gate I’ve managed to put my toolbox, stand, and milk crate in the under bed storage. Rear wheel traps ramp. Just the bike and a gas can in the bed and no need for the Moto gate. Gear bag in passenger section.
