Herlings' retirement plan, Anaheim 1 predictions

Edited Date/Time 12/15/2022 10:29am

My first Vital feature! Well, technically my second but I rushed to get it out first... I was excited by it, haha!

Pretty revealing interview with Herlings, I thought.

There is his retirement plan, suspension talk, supercross predictions and more... There is a lot in HERE.

Lol. "Kick Start Kenny"

Herlings - "My ideal scenario would be kickstart Kenny [Roczen] winning A1. I think it will blow the roof off if he comes back on his Suzuki and damn kickstarts that thing to the main event win."

That's why I like interviewing him. Calling him kickstart Kenny just proves he is a regular guy, who can have a laugh.

Nice interview, interesting there was a lot of talk about other manufacturers.  I thought he’d see out his career on Ktm.  And I much prefer a written interview than a video! πŸ‘πŸΌ

84 says that the championship will be between Tomac and Webb, and that while kick start Kenny and 23 are the two fastest guys on the track, neither one of them will win the championship.

He's not predicting anything in MXGP, but you know that he "knows" he will win.

It's just too damn easy to be a Herlings fan. The dude Still "gets it". Nice.

Its cool that Herlings is just a general fan of the sport, and clearly follows what is going on in the US.  Hope he comes back strong this season along with Febvre and Prado, get some excitement back in the 450 class.  Nice interview

I think Herlings has always been the best interview in the sport.

Thank you for also putting out the audio version. Long days at work seem shorter when there’s always something new to listen to!

Great interview. πŸ‘

I thought that was interesting too... There definitely seems to be uncertainty beyond this contract. It'll be a wild silly season.

I'm glad that some of you like the written version too. It felt like that took a year to prepare, so at least it was worth it! Haha!

Yea imo written interviews are better! I’m sure people love the video’s too so if it’s not to hard to post both that would be awesome.

I mostly follow the US series but the Euros are always the best interviews. Less corporate bull and straight answers, even discussing or giving props to other brands etc.

I agree. A lot of the top MXGP riders don't care. Like one top guy told me: "What are they going to do, fire me?"

I hope that I can crack some of top American guys in the same way, but it is going to take a bit of time! Haha!

So he skipped over the part of Ruben leaving. I wonder what happened there? They had been together since day 1

I was told that KTM's deal with Ruben was not moving too quickly, so Nestaan came in with a solid offer and he took that.

I think that he had to think about his future; working with de Wolf could be a ten-year gig, like his relationship with Jeffrey.

I don't think that he skipped over that part of the question on purpose, to be honest. I really don't.

Good stuff Lewis, keep them coming.

Not sure if you've addressed it elsewhere, but will you still be affiliated with Mx Vice or contributing to those shows any longer? If not, where can we find your podcasts?

Thanks

Options are good, but I’ll always prefer the written stuff too. Keep up the good work πŸ‘πŸΌ

I won't be contributing to MX Vice shows, no, but we'll be rolling out a lot of different podcasts here.

From January 01, Vital's podcast platforms will be a lot more organised/structured with shows that carry a lot of substance!

Know Ruben did a lot for Jeffery and kept the train on the tracks at times. Hopefully 84 stays on track without him. Ruben is a great addition to any team
