Anyone see anything from PC as far as pipes go?  Kinda surprised they seem to be ignoring this bike.

Got a good 1.5 hrs on my bike with the FmF factory fatty & stock silencer. Gained some nice overrev on top, best I can tell it did not take away from bottom/ mid, still great roll on. Still feel stock gearing is good for what I ride,  I will eventually try a 50 rear to see if I can keep it in 3rd just about everywhere. 9hrs total on bike, around 10-12 hrs I will send out the shock for a Factory Connection service, I may need a stiffer rear spring. Chain & sprockets are wearing pretty fast as I ride alot of wet sand. I will go with an xring & Supersprox steel rear when needed.

Thanks for the info- same 6ft size here. Was looking for something a bit taller. The stockers seem low and wide.

Dumb question.  Got the bike home last night and started it in the drive.  Noticed what seemed to be a pretty loud ticking noise coming from the bottom end.  Reved out fine and ran good up and down the road.  Is that the norm?

Maybe the fuel injector firing?

Does the sound change when you pull the clutch in ? The clutches are noisy in Ktm’s

James Dean put up a ton of dyno plots of the new XC on KTM Talk. Lots of great info.

All I have done to mine in the 4 weeks that I have had it is bars and non lockon grips. I feel behind seeing all of these units completely decked out already.

Has anyone seen the phathead cylinder heads for this bike? They are coming out shortly as per his IG. Has anyone had experience on them. Looking to buy once they are out.

I just turned about 8hrs on mine last Thursday, it was also the strongest I have felt on it. I was carrying 3rd gear more in the sweeping corners and only going down to 2nd in the tightest corners. I have a 350 also, that I have been tempted to hop back on but I wanted to get to the 10hr mark with the 300. I have to agree with what most are saying about the frame/ chassis, needing time to break in. I”m using map 2 exclusively.  I”m starting to think the bike has to be ridden more like a 450, 3rd gear… if you are dropping to 2nd too often, it can tire you out. 55 year old Vet/SR A rider.

I have 3 days on the SX. One at Cal City MX and 2 days at Cahuilla. I’ve been fighting the light front end feel while jumping. Mostly the steeper faced jumps seem to really mess with me. I think I need to try 4th gear next ride and softer on the throttle. Without the engine braking that I am used to, it has been challenging.
but I’m with you on 3rd gear. I don’t think I’ve shifted to 2nd anywhere on the track (on purpose at least) and barely use the clutch at all. The 3rd gear torque is really amazing

I’m in the same boat 56 years old and A/B level rider

Langhammx, If you had to choose one... the XC or SX for doing both off-road and MX, which would you choose?

Have you tried your XC on moto track?

I do 50/50 off-road and MX. I've usually have had better luck using a moto version for both, but would consider the XC, as I'm starting to get more into to off-road. My mix will likely lean towards 70% off-road, 30% moto.

I currently have a 23 KTM 350 SX for moto, and a 21 XC250 for off road.

I love 2 strokes all the way around, wouldn't mind having one to do both disciplines.

For refernce, I ride 60 plus A class, both off-road and moto.

I’ll probably never ride my XC at the track, although I’m sure it would do just fine. But the suspension is a little soft for the track.

My SX wouldn’t be too much fun with the stiff suspension, trying to ride it in technical single track either. But I believe that either bike could be made to satisfy you.
I think I’d go with the XC myself, but that’s mainly because I’m comfortable on it.

Good to know!

Keep us updated with your progress, with the SX on moto track.

Just making sure-anyone swap their throttle tube to a standard tube yet?  I was going to get an aluminum one so I can run regular grips but want to make sure the 23 cam fits on the 22 and earlier 2/4 stroke throttles.

I finally got my 2021 300sx  back together and at the same track as my 23 so I could ride them back to back.

There is quite a bit of difference in the feel of the two bikes. The old chassis feels long and low in the rear to me and took some time to get used to again. The 21 corners slower but is not any more stable that the 23. Imo the 23 chassis is hands down better, it’s way more precise has way better front wheel traction, can turn under the 21 all while having the same stability.

The 21 motor is hands down better than this new fuel injected motor. It’s crazy to me how great the reviews are from this 23 motor when, to me at least, the older 300’s are simply better. It’s not a huge difference but on the 21 I can easily pull 3rd in sections that the 23 didn’t have a chance of pulling 3rd. I could ride the entire track on the 21 in third and was shifting back and forth from 2nd to 3rd on 4 different sections of track. The 21 is just a more powerful motor with better roll on.

Between the chassis and motor though the 23 is a much better bike to race and ride. I’d rank the 21 chassis as a 6/10 and the 23 as a 10/10. I’d rank the 21 motor as 10/10 and the 23 as a 8/10. I really hope we’ll be able to get some tunes to make the new motor hit harder, then this 23 would be perfect to me.

I have put the same emig v2 grips on a 23 250f that went on a 21 250f. I just used the cam that was already on the stock grip. Make sure if you buy something that fits a 22 two stroke that it is the tpi bike. The fuel injected bikes take a pull/pull (2 cables) cam where the carb bikes just has a pull cam (one cable).

Just rode a friend's 300XC, which had about an hour run time on it. I am more of a 450 guy but found it instantly comfortable and fast while being very very user friendly. A very impressive machine. I could get used to that bike! awesome

Your ‘23 may have an issue.
I haven’t had to shift down to 2nd gear on mine. It pulls 3rd all day long, as most have been saying.
I let a couple friends ride mine today and they were both impressed at the power. Both were top 10 40/50 A riders who have lots of experiences.
I rode mine in the white mode today and it was a lot easier to ride. The green map is simply too much at this stage of my transition back to a 2-stroke. But they both rode it in the green map with no issues.

Ok so I’m in a bit of a dilemma and need some direction haha. My dealer literally has every bike but this 300. So do I take a 250sx and put a 300kit on it?  Do they even make one yet for the 23. They also have a tx300 heritage edition which I think is bitchin. I only ride Moto so idk if it’s easier to put a 300kit on a 250 or make the tx in to a Moto bike. Also I really love red so if gas gas is gonna have a MC300 in the late spring I would definitely just wait for that.

They don’t make a 300sx kit yet, it would need a new ECU and all the top end parts to fit, possibly some other small bits.
