Do you guys ever get a small burp of oil out of the left fork leg if bled while at the track or if the fork is still relatively warm from riding?

Also, what are you guys running for chain slack? Manual calls for 58-62mm but MXA and others report the KTM engineers suggest 70mm.
Yes sometimes a bit of oil spits out the bleeders.

Yes the chain slack around 65mm is good. Slacker the better I think on this bike. Chain gets tighter as the swingarm moves through its cycle. So it seems slack on the stand but it will be tighter even at sag.

I have sat on bikes at dealers that barely sag when you sit on them. I assume they are using the old chain slack. I just got a 250 xcf yesterday and set slack to 70mm. I also cycled the swing arm through its full range of motion and 70 seems pretty safe. I could probably go a little lower. It might vary depending on where the axle sits.

Adjusting sag is not part of the dealer un crating process. New units are set where the manufacturer set them during the build.

They all sink a little bit unless the chain is too tight.

Any known issues yet on the new engines?
Considering getting one, but last time I bought a first year KTM engine I had a catastrophic failure resulting in new cases, the issue was fixed by KTM in the model year after..

Looking at your 4 posts it appears you really like the older KTM 2 stroke correct?

Im torn between a 2022 mc350 or 22 350sxf. Would the stiffer valving of ktm be better for a heavier rider? Im about 285. Im know no matter what i would need a revalve, but would the ktm be better for me until i decide to send it out for a revalve? I keep reading the gas gas has softer valving.
If your going to spend the $$ on a revalve anyway! Then go with the best price!
That’s what I think anyway!

Correct and that is all done at the factory while being assembled to specs.

Yes, fantastic bike, but after some more time on my buddys 22 350, I think that bike suits me well, so easy to ride.

New bikes are just full of stiction . need to put a few hours on them to looosen up . Then adjusting sag is more realistic

How much better are the '23's? I've seen several '22's with low hours for $9K. And I'm talking 3-5 hours on them. If I get the '22 I can bolt my suspension right up to it vs. the '23 I can only switch my forks over. So that's even more money I've saving. My buddy just bought a '23 and I'm jealous haha! I'll also say I'm not hurting for money. I can afford the new one. But is it really that much of a superior machine. It's my first 350, if that matters. Dropping down from a 450

I have a 23 and wouldn’t go back to my 19 with 125hrs. I rode the factory edition 250 back to back on the same day and even though it was a 250, I’d still chose the new bike.

If you have forks, slap them on. I personally thing the stock shock is very good. I also love the adjusters so I can tune while on the track.

If you can afford it, it’s worth it in my opinion. Engine power, revs fast, handling…

If money isn’t an issue, I’d go with the 23. Also considering you’re coming off a 450, I think you’ll enjoy the improved bottom end of the 23. I love my 23.

The used market has completely crashed it seems like. I have my 21 350 listed for 7k and have had very little interest. If you want the 22, I feel like you could get it cheaper than 9k.

I’d like to ride one! But then I’d probably want one, but then It probably won’t make me any faster, and I’d probably hate the stk suspension, so getting that settled is another 1 to 2k, but they look cool! I do think a 350 would be the perfect size though!

Ya I've on Marketplace daily watching the prices on the same bikes drop daily. $10.5K to $9.5K to $9K. I'm pretty sold on the '23, only took a couple responses lol. Thanks!

I went to dealer with all intent to get a 350sxf or 350xcf. I came out with a xcf factory edition. $1100 more, but the add on total way more then that.

I just picked up a 22 last weekend. I thought hard and long about the 23. I had been watching the local used market and there werent many options for used 350's with low hours and/or newer model years. Most of the used 22's for in the $9000 range. The 22 I picked up was very very clean, had only 14hrs on it, fmf silencer, one tooth up on the rear sprocket, skid plate, frame guards and a few other extras. I paid $8700. Local dealers had the three different versions of the 350, but I didnt want to go the new route until i know that the 350 is for me. The cheapest new 350 was out of state for $11,500 otd.

Ive never owned a 350, but I did demo one at a ktm ride day years ago, I spun 2 laps on it and wasnt a fan because i had been living the 450 life for years lol. Towards the end of this riding season, there were times I was looking for some more grunt/power than my 21 yz250f had to offer. Im about 285 which plays into the lack of power, but by no means did I have any issues getting around the track and hitting all the jumps. You just have to be more aggressive and shift more which kind of prepared me for the 350 style. Ive gotten a chance to ride my 350 twice now and i realky like it. Revving the bike out is no problem and it has the extra grunt i was looking for. Its was very easy to ride and I had no issues pulling 3rd gear out of corners. I will be getting a vortex ecu to give her a little more bark. The suspension needs some love for my liking and i will be going with kyb inserts with a revalve. The ergo's feel good for my 6' height and i also like how slim the tank feels which allows me to get over the tank quicker/easier. I also own a 21 yz450 which i have setup very well. I rode it back to back with my 350. The biggest take away was that the 450 suspension was much better which has to do with it being dialed for my weight. I look forward to getting the 350 dialed in next season and riding it back to back with my yz450. I think they will make a great duo.

Got my 23 350sxf a week ago and clocked 3 hours so far. I'm 38yo, 6ft, 210-220 pounds fully geared. Fast novice to intermediate rider. Changed the rear spring to match my weight. Came from a 2019 YZ450F. Was looking for something that I can hold onto for the last few laps of a moto.

The new 350sxf is a blast and downright amazing. The slim ergos, the roomier rider triangle, the sharp handling, the nimbleness compared to a 450 especially when entering corners. The low end grunt feels similar to a 450 but not as hand ripping out of sockets feeling. Suspension wise, I'm loving the stock feeling especially when it is sprung to my weight. Not as plush initially compared to the YZs KYBs, but I'm able to live and race with it. Will consider kit suspension once the frame breaks in around 10 hours.
I can revv it or lug it. Map 1, I can rev it out like a 250. Map 2 I can lug it like a 450. TC when the track is slippery when its raining works like a charm. I use QS only for the starts and its so easy to just bang the gear up.
I got the chance to ride a 23 FC250 with kit suspension and fmf endcan. The bike feels so much lower than the KTM when riding, the stock seat feels thin. The bikes felt underpowered for my weight but handling wise I would say it was similar. Being that the engine is the same as the 250sxf, luckily I got the 350.

At the end of the day, I'm glad I got the 350 and enjoy every second on it. Cheers

Love the look. What graphic company? I am the same as you, coming off a 19 YZ450. I put the WP 6500 kit and full FMF. Went up one tooth in the rear and got a twisted development mapped vortex. Absolutely love the bike!

How does everyone feel about the ergos of the new chassis? When I first got my 2016 it felt “cramped”, or definitely made for a shorter rider (I’m 6’1), and thought the same with the 19-22 bikes I rode. How much different do the new chassis feel ergo wise?

I’m 5’11 coming off a 19’ YZ450 and it’s very comfortable. I don’t feel cramped at all.

I rode a 2017 350 for the last 5 years, the 23 feels pretty much the same for me. I'm 5'10 btw.

I'm 6'1"

All the KTMs I rode in the past felt very weird to me.
With my 23, I was immediately comfortable on it. I just put on some fastway EXT pegs for an ankle injury from august, in the lowered position. It dropped it a little more and it's even better. But I have pretty long legs. Also added a GUTS RJ wing seat cover that really helps to be locked into the bike.

Looks like the plastic oil pump gears have been changed going forward. I've never had any issues with the plastic ones, but certainly some others have.

Hi all! Does anyone know if the ECU from a 22 will fit the 23? I am thinking of taking advantage of the Twisted ECU black friday special but want to know if I get this for my 22 if it will fit the newer bikes. Obviously it will need remapped when I get a new bike, but just wondering if they are the same. Thanks!

Yes they are the same. Only exception is your stock map switch on the 23 will not work with the Vortex.

Do triples from the 22 and prior fit the new 23? Don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention that yet. 22 wheels will fit with different spacers, is this correct?
