Horrible news. Kyle Petty, Dale Jarrett, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were near tears when then the announcement was made during the pre race show. Thoughts and prayers to the Gibbs familiar and JGR. Godspeed Coy

Thoughts and prayers to J-Bone as well as I'm sure this has got to be hard for him. He seemed to have an extremely close relationship and an deep admiration for him.

So unexpected, seems to me we lost a great man and it’s very sad to see Someone we all shared a love with gone to soon. We all saw the positive in him as he entered in the moto industry with JGR “ and we were delighted to have him. My thoughts, prayers and love to him and all his loved ones. God speed

Thoughts to the family
I can’t imagine how terrible this would be for Joe and his wife having to bury a second son

I had the pleasure of working with Coy and JGRMX as a sponsor who activated in the JGRMX pits for 5 straight years. This guy was so much more than a team owner .. He was like a father figure, older brother, and protector all in one for his employees, riders, the sponsors and the families of those who would come to the races or lucky enough to visit the race shop in Huntersville, NC. Coy had an intimidating appearance as a former college football player and just straight up bad ass of a human vibes, but underneath it all was a really genuine, sweet man. I am lucky to have met him and feel included in what in history will go down as one of the best "teams" to ever grace the sport as they did it their way, and set the tone for what Star and a few others are doing now with having their riders all train and ride together. RIP Coy. And thanks for taking me to Taco Bell when I suggested we have a fancy lunch in North Carolina haha.

Rip Coy.

My favorite quote from him is “it’s common knowledge, just not everyone knows it.”

Well said. And with every passing day, there are more reminders life is short.

I've always heard stories of him and then after listening to some of Weedge's stories last night, I feel sad to have never been privileged enough to have met the man. Sounds like he was truly one of the good ones.

The guy was funny. He had a humorous way of seeing things that we all deal with during a typical day at the races and making us laugh about them and ourselves.

He will be missed.

Prayers to all the good folks back in NC and sincere condolences for your loss.

Godspeed…

Weigandt and matthes were telling some great stories about coy last night on pulp. Seemed like a great guy from everything I’ve ever seen/heard from him

What are you insinuating? I have been off the grid and don't have a clue what happened but are you saying mental health was related to the death? Is the cause of death known?

Gibbs dies in his sleep, so likely either a sleep apnea that was unknown or an aneurysm/Heart Attack. there has been nothing reported even hinting at what you are stating

He died in his sleep, he was found unresponsive,..completely unexpected. I have my thoughts about so many that are dying like this lately, but this is not the thread. God Rest His Soul. Amen.

Nicolleti on the Matthes show seemed to vaguely insinuate that he "ended it".

I’m not sure where you got that from that podcast…I certainly didn’t when I listened to it, he was just referring to the suddenness and unexpectedness of his death…

31:33 mark in the pod, Phil "if you're gonna end it, that's one hell of a way..". Could be wrong, and hope I am, but that was my take away. There was another subtle comment I can't remember as welll in the same discussion.

I got that take from Phil also. Wasn't sure, and can't be sure. It's unbelievable Coy is gone no matter how it happened. RIP and condolences to his family and friends Sad

For those who have taken the C-19 \/@x, please have your d-dimer value checked, along with a myocarditis and pericarditis check during your next physical.

I am not a Dr, nor do I play one on TV.

Just a concerned dirt biker who has seen a few too many family and friends with critical and fatal health issues this year.
