So the AMA should blackball a rider for something he did at a glorified fair race? That's like saying the NBA should ban a player for fouling too much in a pickup game at the YMCA. I agree Vince is a tool, but c'mon.
I bet nowhere in either rule book does it say you can’t offer another rider money to takeout a rider. That doesn’t mean they can’t punish a person for it. It’s beyond egregious. It isn’t comparable to fouling out at a YMCA game for an NBA player. It is on an egregious level of said player gambling on NBA games though. so stop trying to trivialize what Friese did in an attempt to make your point seem more plausible. No one would ever even think someone would be offering bounties on other riders. He should be blackballed by each and every team if still allowed to race.

VF can be brought to face the The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) jurisprudence on attempted manipulation of sports competitions. If found guilty then the AMA will be compelled to sanction him.

I’m not going to read the whole rule book too fine out but there has to be language in there that would cover offering a rider $ to take out another. It’s probably not written in blunt terms that way but it no doubt exists.

You apparently cannot read. I never said what Vince did was OK in any way, I said the AMA is not the sanctioning body so it is not their penalty to give or be involved. How is that difficult to comprehend??

We know that the AMA was not the sanctioning body but here's a question. What licence was used to enter the event?

I'm thinking there has to be a clause in his endorsement deals and contact with MCR about representing this organizations in a positive/ professional manner. If not, they're stupid. The question is do they consider his behavior unprofessional or are the subscribing to the "any press is better than no press" theory? Clearly no one has voiced any opinions on the incidents/ history of incidents and given the time since this occurred it certainly seems as if they are not too concerned. I put this on the team more than the AMA and would certainly make me rethink my support of anyone who endorses that kind of behavior by sticking their heads in the sand and sweeping it under the rug.

I don't know Aussi law that well, but they borrowed most of it from the British like we did in the States. My guess is that paying someone to take another person out is a criminal act, and would give cause for a civil action as well.

Yup.. that silence might be driven by legal counsel..

I’d like to see a season on the bench for VF. Soliciting a takeout is absolutely the worst sportsmanship I’ve ever seen..

I'd bet that a "bounty" is nothing new in this sport...It just this time it's Freise who called it(perhaps). I can remember Matt Walker doing something really questionable, the Chiz thing with Reed.....Internal team orders to take out another rider on another team, or what happened at the WSX, same shit different pile....kinda sorta

So the AMA can only get involved IF the FIM does something? It’s confusing. When the FIM suspends riders like JS7 and Tickle, they can’t race AMA events. So the AMA can’t do anything unless FIM decides if they are going to do anything??

Why would he ask Harlan is what I don't get . Like was his plain for Harlan to get lapped and take out brayton . The chances Harlan is anywhere near brayton in the race or at the start are so slim . It's the only thing I think might of ment it as a joke . Stupid as it was. The other stuff is still bad enough tho.

It’s piss poor sportsmanship, common or not. The difference between a sport and a show is a script, to me making deals before the race is about the same as writing a script, aka deciding the outcome before the race/show starts. I want to have racing, not a show.

Saw this a couple days ago on social media, was away for a few days though. Can't believe nobody posted that yet.

In before next year's "lazer for hire" plot.

Jeff seems like an alright guy on here these days for the most part, however I'm surprised he hasn't shed any light as he's usually pretty hot on topics like this concerning folks he knows well, so maybe someone in a suit has told them to keep quiet, who knows.

Jeff is the same Jeff on here as he's always been. They are sheltered and incredibly disconnected dudes. Nice guys, yes....but definitely not well-rounded.
Anything Jeff would have to add to this would not settle any debates, that's for sure.
I'm glad he's stayed out of it, honestly. It would only muddy the waters.

It's not my place to speak about someone else's medical conditions online so I'll leave things vague but Genova is a racer like us, and after a mishap that was none of his doing, he's recovering from a significant injury so it shouldn't surprise anyone if he's pre-occupied.

You know, for something this controversial and that OBVIOUSLY had the ONE guy that’s won for them seriously pissed off…& for them to come out with a single social media post that doesn’t even try to address it…worse, yet…it ignores The Elephant in the room?

Beyond disappointing; yet, typical.

The AMA can do what they want to protect riders. They aren’t forced to be unable to take any action simply because it happened somewhere else. It should be the team though. It DID happen on their team and to their other team rider. Vince is a negative impact as a sponsored rider now. No team should want him riding for them, he isn’t going to win anything. No loss there. Hire someone who isn’t hated by 90% of moto fans and makes your team look like garbage by having him under your awning.
The "AMA" isn't even a working sanctioning body.. they are worthless... absolutely utterly f'n worthless.. so if anyone expects the AMA to do anything.. just look at their track record with Vinny.... the past is the best predictor of the future.. meaning- the AMA will do whatever they are told, and they've yet to be told to ban his ass...

anywhos... has Freezzee came out of hiding yet?? or is he in permanent hiding due to the fact that this was the one that broke the camels back??? meaning- us fans are now 100% tired of this bullpucky and actively want to see him perma-banned???

Genova probably buying Roczen each color 450 to ride every couple days so the news cycle stays fresh and distracting....

Hopefully some folks take the liberty to tell Vince what they think if he has the balls to sit out for autograph signings during SX.

If MCR can't take the heat on social media it's time to bring the heat in real life.

I've defended Vince in the past but he's burned all the bridges now.

Yep, that’s pretty odd. Gives the impression that Alessi and Genova approve of Freise’s actions. Plus, from Braylon’s interview, sounds like Genova ghosted him and wouldn’t respond to Brayton.
