Ten bucks says bailey and weege mention it on the broadcast at unadilly.

matthes wants it to go away but is tempted to reply to every post.

every rider in the sport has been creepin' and rubberneckin' all day. (but still scared to post)

roger d is tellin' everyone he hasn't heard anything about the internet?

DC is wonderin' if he should jump in with his easygoing mediating style.

millsaps and RC are wondering if their moms are gonna get criticized next.

Big James ripped through Haines City at 37 mph in the Ferrari to bring Sondra some ice cream.

Hansen now realizes any publicity is better than being forgotten.

Larry Brooks and J Law are just happy it ain't them setting the multi page record.

Guy B wants to just go back to BMX.

That is funny, and probably more true than some of the stuff in Matthes' column.

I have absolutely nothing to add and I am sure by posting on this thread my name is now on some list somewhere.

I question the validity of any thread that could possibly reach 21 pages... Is there a pool somewhere on whether this thing will hit 30?

I was standing a few feet away when some minidad crossed the track at practice and Mikey and his YZ80 ran right thru the poor soul. The YZ ended up a ball of shit 30 yards away and Mikey walked away unscathed. The old guy was lifeflighted out with dual femur breaks etc.
Happened at LACR during a TransCal practice in about '95 -'96.

Story really has no value - just wanted to join the party ......

If Tony's a true Christian he'll forgive Mathes cause Jesus died on the cross for EVERYbody's sin.

Man this thread has some legs

My 2c

If the Alessi family or team Alessi or whatever you want to call them are doubting their equipment, then they are already beaten. Especially when riding for a factory team.

Mike can win championships, he just needs to stay on the bike and ride faster, it's that simple. As far as Tony goes, well it's Mike's call if he wants him around.

And out of left field..... if Tony has a paranoia about the bikes then maybe that is a hint about Mikes amateur success.............Who knows?

Oh...and we should also welcome Tony and Mike to Vitaldrive. At least they have the balls to sign up and post. Most don't. Whatever you think of Steve's article, it got them out of the lurking shadows.

Onward to 30!
Pretty sure Tony was posting here (AAA) but Mike was too?

Welcome you two ....man you guys made one helluva entrance ....lol

Hey Mike and Tony, I am a huge fan of both you guys. Here is a bit of advice that my Dad gave me. It has helped me throughout my life. Whenever someone says something bad about you do this; "Consider the source and forget it". Have you ever seen a picture of Matthes? Why would you care what he says about you? Just look at the guy.

I think everyone's will come out of this ok....

BobbleM only called Genitals a "Twit"

Wise man Matthes has baled before he says more than an "Observation"

Trippy could go 50 pages and still not loose focus

Triple "AAA's" batteries have gone flat

Mike800 will go on to win a Championship

and we have all got a new Alessi to look at

Thanks Guys, you can't buy this stuff.

I read your post, then Googled "Steve Matthes" and came up with this http://www.bscjb.com/...the_band/steve.shtml

I see what you're saying.

Bob's dad was totally cool.
I wouldn't know. And if he were, I doubt being utilized as a cautionary tale in a message board debate is the proper or tasteful way to cherish his memory.

Yes your correct he does have those championships and congrats to him but here is the thing Ryan changed his entire program before outdoors. New trainer, new mechanic, sent the family home, guess it didn't work so I guess its time to change it all again based on your guys expectations. The riders are going to get the same result no matter how much you expect them to win.

Ryan wrecked his knee practicing- bummer
Mike broke his knee cap practicing- time to change entire program are you guys serious!
Grant broken heels- bummer

See my point, your guys distaste for Tony is the real topic but you guys keep betting around the bush and wont come out and say it, this is where the whole problem is. But you guys find it easier to judge and pick apart a kids program that is a 100% determined to win races and championships.

Every pro rider has things that the have done that if found out by the public would not look good in fact some of them would loose a lot of there sponsors and endorsements, the fact is when your getting results everyone is hush hush, but when you get hurt or not meeting the media or peoples expectation the B.S. starts rolling out. You guys are all about kicking the riders when the are down. The industry and life is now filled with a bunch of people that are 2 faced there to jump on the bandwagon when your doing good but as soon as something goes wrong your there to demoralize them and pick apart everything they are doing.

Believe it or not, but I sure don't see anyone breaking down my front door paying me for my opinion. It is Mikes life and his program and he is the one that is out there racing and putting his life on the line not you and at the end of the day and the only one that he has to make happy is himself not everyone else
I've already said a lot of that...but, your argument/analogy was completely flawed and thus you failed.

This is about multiple years of failed efforts to win and burned bridges.

The guys you chose have won championships and still have contracts and aren't likely to have a problem getting or keeping a ride with a factory.

This thread consistently delivers... then it fades a bit... then it delivers again.

This may be a historic piece of Vital history and I wanted to be sure that I got in on it.

For the record, if anyone told me how to attend to my kids, I'd kick the shit out of them.

Of course, my kids are actually kids.

Highly doubtful and IMO, next to impossible. Times up for him.

No one confirmed AAA is Tony. Don't see a Mike post, unless you call that funky user name as being him.

Matthes writes great stuff. Entertaining, controversial, truthful, and insightful. You either like it or hate it.

Good morning friends. I had a nice conversation with Tony last night, he is my friend (and a client). It's been a while since we chatted, so it was really good to catch up on a few things.

To be honest, we mostly talked business, but I now need to go back and re-read Matthes article to see what his sources are really saying. I always find it entertaining to compare the rumor mill to what is really going on with this family. Its great we have such characters in our sport, otherwise it would be about as exciting as great tennis matches.

Matthes, I am a fan of yours also, I do enjoy your Racer X articles. If you would like an update on what's going on with the Allessi Racing, you should probably just drive out to the practice track and visit with Tony. I am in no way saying what you hear on the streets has no value, but as always, there are usually more sides to the story.

Keep the good stuff flowing! Beast thread in a long long time.
