What Roczen was jumping was a legit quad = four jumps. You could have jumped off any one of them.
You cannot jump off the middle of a tabletop; there is no jump there.
2 mounds of dirt, double. 3 mounds of dirt, triple.
If I make a flat top on the middle of the triple, it's still a triple. 3 humps.
It's easy. End of story. I don't give a crap what you want to call 3 humps in a row, but a quad it is not.
Pit Row
As far as jumping over the table: We technically call it a Double-over. Meaning you are doubling OVER the first landing spot and landing on the 2nd. We don't call it a triple because people that make thread titles like this exist...
It's easy. 3 jumps, triple. 4 jumps, quad.
Anything else is just FUD.
The ones who began doing it would call a single and a tabletop a "double," not a triple. I'm going to defer to the original definition.
so quit trying to glorify something to what it isn't. When did triples become lame and have to be called a quad?
a single, table, single, is a triple. There are three mounds. Three take off points.
Stop with the madness.
Two table tops is a double. There are two mounds. Two take off points.
The riders can call it whatever they want. 30 years ago this stuff was never called a quad. Ever.
A single, table, single is a quad. There are 3 “mounds” of dirt but 4 take off points.
Two table tops jumped together is not a double, it’s a table-table.
Supercross tracks in 1992 didn’t have quads like they do today.
Jumping a quad with a table somewhere in the mix IS usually slightly shorter and maybe safer and easier than jumping 4 singles, but it’s still a quad.
