Have to look at the field, aside from the huge names everyone else wouldn’t handle a full-blown SX track. Add to that the stadium is about to be used for Wales international rugby matches probably means there were limits on how much earth they could bring in. Capacity wise the stadium is capable of 87,000 with all three tiers, but it’s also designed to put the crowd close so it doesn’t have the internal area of NFL stadia.

Not sure what the atmosphere will be like tomorrow night (hoping to go so I’ll let you know after) but for rugby matches it’s a layout generates an incredible noise level. I’m really hoping it goes well.

I’ve been to Millennium Stadium to watch rugby. It would be an awesome arena to watch a supercross event.
The pitch is wider than an NFL pitch but NFL then has extra space for the teams to stand at the side, refs, cheerleaders and all the drinks and medical tents etc. So the floor space in an NFL stadium is bigger.

Apparantly there was a last-minute problem with the soil supplier apparantly and they’ve had to screen and use some stuff from local that was last-minute replacement. That might mean they’ve had to dial it back a bit from what they wanted.

I'm liking all of the setups so far, other than the red sideplate numbers on the RWR bikes. Remind you of Canadian Junior numbers Mav?

Chad has never been a front runner in practice for many years but expect his times to improve and race times again. Old brain does not learn as fast as young brain and expect nuts aren't as big as they used to be either. Anyone expecting 40yo Chad to be a front runner in even this pack is living on emotion. Props for even being out there in a young man's game

Different rim colour like gold or blue would make an improvement but it's too much of a pizza for me

I really hate the freestyle ramp in race applications. Like loathe it. But the rest of the track looks like a decent of track. Much more technical than Traditional overseas races like Paris/Bercy usually are

I'm surprised that Reed wasn't able to put in a better time than half the guys in front of him
Reed is a racer though. I’m sure he will be higher up come race time 🤷‍♂️

Don’t mind the ramp myself and I think the track is a bit deceptive.
It looks like a simple layout at first glance, but some of the transitions are pretty tight, between that and the hard dirt, timing and throttle control are going to be at a premium.
Also looks as if a few riders are happy that the whoops aren’t any longer.

Why isn't he in full race shape? Mind giving us a little context?

Some of us don't have time to watch every Vlog out there.

Because he’s 40, hasn’t raced for two years and enjoying life?

He is retired. Why would he be in race shape?

He has fully embraced being a dad and has the body to go with it. The older he gets the harder it is to get his body back into race shape .. and the ceiling on what he's capable of gets a bit lower too.

Even when he was racing. He often showed up a bit underdone and got his race conditioning from racing.

Have to look at the field, aside from the huge names everyone else wouldn’t handle a full-blown SX track. Add to that the stadium is about to be used for Wales international rugby matches probably means there were limits on how much earth they could bring in. Ohhh coz in rugby games the reserves, cheerleaders, staff, officials etc just dissappear.
Cardiff stadium is 80m wide or 260ft.
An nfl field is 50m wide or 160. The stadium width would vary in each nfl type stadium.

What sort of bs is that. Other then the "huge" names no1 else would handle an American sx?.😂😂😂
There's only 2or 3 huge names.
Tomac, roczen, Reed.
Basically every rider in this event except about 3 guys have raced the big and scary ama sx and all lived to make it to this event.

His videos show that he’s been practicing and he says he’s been starting to train and wants to get back to some decent condition. By his own admission that takes time and a lot of grind and you can see his physical condition in the videos - he’s not very far along that journey.

The playing surface of a rugby pitch is 70’ wider than an NFL pitch. Plus there is space on the sidelines.

There’s enough room for the same size track they’d build for an NFL stadium in the US. Not as much space as a baseball field though.

Stick a fork in him, he was done in like 2019. 3 seconds is a big gap.
