They would come off the skier then turn left across the infield and then left up the monza hill/wall and back to the north side of the track. Rick the Lumberjack Burgett won the open class that day Wink
July 4 weekend, 1978. Semics got the holeshot, led down the ski jump, came around the 180, into a small lake that had formed on the track... and his bike disappeared under water.

Win or lose, I hope it doesn’t rain. We already had a mudder mxon at RedBud. Maybe we can show everyone how amazing fall in the Midwest is and have a great day of racing. The MXoN is due for a dry weekend in any country. Definitely do NOT bring on the rain! Grinning

2018? We got beat straight up. Just like all the other years I've watched us get schooled by the Euros. I'm sure I've watched every year it's ever been broadcast and then some home movies before that. I'm just stoked I don't have to wake up at 3 AM only to tune in just in time to see KW pulling his bike out of a fence. That was painful!

Me too, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. Just like the riders should be preparing. If we can't win this year regardless of the conditions we just all have to accept once and for all USA is not the fastest Nation for outdoor moto. We'll know soon enough if we can stack up.

BTW if AUS wins should we even let the Hunter Bros back in the country??

Painful indeed... So was the first lap pile up of Anderson and Cooper in moto 1 at Assen. Not just 1 of your guys down, but both... And in moto 1!!! Basically your whole day is fucked after that.

If you think the mud and rain are what did team USA in at the 2018 mxon, then I'm guessing you didn't watch it either. There were mechanical issues out the ass, flat tire, DNFs, worst gates you could have due to DNF and mechanical in qualifying....that led to horrible starts for everyone on the team, a team manager that didn't even make sure our bikes got to the gate with clean tires, superb gate overlooked that open, etc etc etc. The fact that it rained it's ass off was not the problem. It was being totally unprepared, bikes fucking up, the worst gate picks, horrible starts, and lousy team management.
Of course our riders made some mistakes and maybe aren't l as good in those conditions as some of the Euros, but they were way better than what the results showed.
