I thought of Joe, while replying to the Show us your Cat 🐈 thread.
Joe gave many stray cats a good home and would share stories about them.

Shows what a good guy he was amongst his other skills as his Motorcycle collection was so impressive.

Miss him as well.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Joe!

I miss lining up with my buddy at the races and I miss him torturing GuyB with Texas humor.

Get some vintage iron together so we'll have something to ride when we see each other again. I'm sure where you are that Unadilla still has grass and snow fence.

I've told the story multiple times but man he was such a nice guy. Like most here I had spoken to him a handful of times on Vital and he didn't know me from anyone. The very first year I went to Diamond Dons I was over there drueling over his mini elsinore. The first thing he said to me was "Well you better ride it".

Great freaking human Being I miss him his builds were always tight and he was open to help anyone that asked. I've got another buddy from Texas named Joe here on vital that builds bad ass motocross bikes too. Texas pipes, Jemco, Banke, and Circile F made sure you needed plenty of tear offs chasing them. Happy birthday Joe Newmann and thanks for sharing your stuff with us.

As many on here, I only knew him from Vital. But he was definitely a cool dude and I always really liked his humor, smart posts and the awesome collection of bikes he showed. He is certainly missed.

The 1978 YZ80 Darrick posted...I believe it was White Brothers that worked over the forks and shock on the bike and he put on a DG seat kit. That bike sat up high after that. I remember when the frame broke, which was a factory defect, and my mom hauling that bike in the trunk of her 1970 Buick Skylark to Golden Triangle Cycle. Yamaha had issued a gusset kit for those bikes and in about a week he was back terrorizing Smith Lake.

Of course, Joe acquired another little YZ80 like that several years ago and has a trick shock, swingarm, and head for it.
