That makes sense. Just fun to contemplate how something like this could happen. Gnarly forces involved that’s for sure.

I once saw with this 79 RM 400 friend was riding it. Get on the gas and watched it break. The bolt holes for the rear sprocket off the hub. Only took a second or two. Bolts didn't break the hub did.

How do you think Honda gets those billet hubs and Renthals? Why do you think they put those stickers on the swingarm?

So i guess his contract ends this month as they all do. I dont see why they have him riding with no events. Maybe he is pissed about it and therefore the post. “Make me ride and this is what you get”.

It’s actually pretty cool he posted the photos, these guys are pushing bikes & parts to the limit… cool to see what breaks and why…. I”m sure Honda and associated sponsors are not very happy about the post…..hence the removal of the post….Have to think the 94”s days at Honda are winding down…..maybe Honda is holding up contract negotiations?

I have not read through all these posts.
I have torn the chain guide off my swing arm. I got snagged on a log that was marking the inside of a left hand turn. I would bet something similar happened to KR94.

Just an FYI... Team Honda does not use "off the shelf" Renthal sprockets. They are special made for American Honda. Different metal treatment and teeth shape. Not that I think the sprocket was the initial failure point. I am in the sprocket bolt failure "club".
