Chase Seems Quiet. Any Suggestion Of Heat Exhaustion?

I feel for Chase and like how he handled himself. Years down the rode it will say he finished 2nd in the points to one of the all time greats. What it won't say is how hard he pushed Eli and Eli had to ride out of his comfort zone to get this title. Nor will it say that they both consistently finished 30 seconds to a minute over 3rd pretty much every moto. I feel bad for the competition next summer, Ponyboy will be coming to prove a point.

When Sexton won his 250 title I thought it was kinda a fluke because other big names had gotten hurt. He's proved me wrong on the 450 for sure. Dude is a savage and has nothing to be ashamed of. I'm sure there is a good pay out for second in the championship as well.

Let’s be honest; a few short years ago, who would have believed Sexton would be Tomac’s main competitor and was even capable of catching and passing him in the Outdoors???
Anyone? Sure as fuck not me! Have always thought Sexton had good style, but his performance this year will go down in history, no matter what happens next.

I think those two had nothing but respect for each other all season, I am sure there will be no issues as teammates.

And I personally think it was better for team USA having Tomac win outdoors. At his age and at this stage of his career I think losing by a point or two would have been more deflating for him in terms of getting up for Nations.

For Chase though I think he could be even more motivated to do well at Red Bud if that is possible. I think Chase will go full send either way. Now if Cooper can just bring the Sexton level of intensity....

With 3 crashes Sexton still took time off of Tomacs lead. 5 more minutes would have been real interesting. It would have put some real drama back in the mix.
How hard does Tomac fight a pass by Sexton?
I really would have liked to see that.

He caught him first moto when Chase got hung up with lappers. Tomac himself said before that he wasn't making up any time on him before that. Lappers and how you deal with them are part of the game though

Did we watch the same race? even JS7 was pointing out that Tomac would be able to make up 1-2 seconds on him any given time.

It wasn’t the lappers fault that Sexton got passed and he was unable to pass back. Not trying to discredit Sexton at all, but Eli was the better guy.

How would that of put drama back in the mix in the second moto? Tomac only needed 2nd to win the title. He would have simply let Chase go right by him.

Imma still gonna go with him being over stimulated, just like most of us here on Vital are... dude rides all the time.. which produces insane levels of dopamine in the system.. then after practice, he probably opens up his cell phone where he gets more overstimulation... then yet more brain stimulation, then even more... the only way to fight it is to do Nothing...... and I doubt any pro mx'ers have time for that in their "training" schedule.... LMAO

I say this because when people have a hard time concentrating on mundane tasks, it's nearly always due to overstimulation... Mosiman is another prime example of this...

If Chase 'lost' the title anywhere it was in moto 1 at Ironman and moto 1 at Pala last Saturday.

i think ure both saying the same thing.....

that first moto was THE clutch moment. mega impressed with both riders performance..i was feeling sick to the stomach from the stress when Sexton was leading. You could see Tomac trying to make a run at him...and catching him around the mechanics area...and that uphill....but losing through the rollers etc...

To me Tomac won it with that first moto pass when Sexton got held up in one corner by a lapper. I do think another 5 minutes and who knows.....but that was the difference between the 2 in this outdoors. Excellent strategy by Tomac and even more impressive in executing the pass...cause clearly Sexton was hauling the mail.

Chase hasn't liked 2nd since he was 4. the drive and will to win in that kid is real and he lives it.

Fast times, wins, out fishing the other guy, beating you in golf. you name it he doesn't like to lose and it's been that way
a very very long time.

Someone said experience and as far as I am concerned that was the big factor here, but look at what Chase did all summer, yup crashed a few times and lost some points. But with all that, he was in it til the last moto.and the knowledge he gained this summer, made him and will help him compete stronger for it all.


Not to many remember his first championship in the 250's was because someone crashed out, and he didn't.
He will be a force to recon with for a long time, and i am biased as hell so I will be glad to see him accomplish more and more.

He is our home town kid, and all of us around here will be seeing him at "his race" here in IL next weekend. See the kid likes to come home. And yep he is fast, but even better he is a great ambassador for this sport.

He was here last year, the line to see him was very long.
